he Chicago Transit Authority has signed a service agreement with Verizon Wireless, making it the second mobile carrier to offer service in Chicago's subways.
The Verizon deal is a 10-year lease similar to the one the CTA signed with U.S. Cellular Corp. in July 2006. The CTA will get $3.4 million in revenue from Verizon. The U.S. Cellular contract is worth $2.9 million.
Verizon's service will be available starting Monday.
