I Like ItI Don’t Like It

In an ad airing in Northeast Pennsylvania, Joe Biden tries to make Barack Obama more familiar to working-class voters. He compares Obama's childhood to his hardscrabble upbringing in Scranton, saying they both learned the same values. "So it's good to be coming home, and bringing home a friend," Biden concludes. The vice presidential nominee will visit Scranton on Monday. Watch:

Hunter Biden is a federal lobbyist. He has been a registered lobbyist since 2001, and these days he represents nine clients, including five universities and two drug firms.

The law firm he co-founded, Oldaker Biden & Belair, was paid $1.8 million to lobby Congress in the first half of this year, according to public records compiled by the non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics. William Oldaker, a named partner and former general counsel at the Federal Election Commission, has been Sen. Biden's campaign treasurer for Congress.

Of all the nonsense today, this is the funniest.

Joe Biden has spent more money & garnered fewer votes than any other candidate in Presidential history; he was completely ignored by Iowans not once but twice & removed himself the first time for stealing someone's else's story. He's been the first to drop out each time after getting absolutely no welcome from any sector of his party.

He is perhaps the worst public speaker in Congress, droning on forever & when finished, no one remembers a thing that he said.

Now, however, the MSM puppets expect us to believe that he is the beloved & esteemed senior statesman of the Dem Pary, a "Lincoln, Einstein & Mother Teresa" rolled into one.

What a joke.

Biden moved away from Scranton when he was 10 years old, now 55 years later, you are buying this I'm Scranton boy story?

So, you would forget your roots once you leave Scranton. Shame on you! You see the truly loyalist don't forget where they come from.

No, those of us in Code Think recognize it is a pathetic and calculated ploy to attract fans of "The Office"

We will win PA. I want to see Ohio step up and remember the mistakes it made in the last 8 years, realizing that John McCain is more of the same; not letting Republicans throw smoke in their eyes again. Look at where we are with the economy... can we afford John McCain?

McCain exercised poor judgment by choosing the inexperienced Sarah Palin to lead the free world if he were incapacitated.

Just feel the love of Obama and Biden -- I so love this pair, and have been a huge Biden fan long before this election -- just brings tears to my eyes, that we are so close to a great partnership. Let's take it home and make this a reality.

McCain's poll numbers have gone up again according to zogby. McCain has 96% consolidation of support from his party and Obama has only 86%. After the great convention, Obama has no gain over McCain. This is a very dangerous sign. When a person is inside the voting booth by himself, what happens is often a sub-cognitive/intellectual decision. Obama rejection of Hillary is a very stupid move and it played into the Kennedy/Clinton longstanding feud. You have to bring your party together to take on the fight with your opponent and this Obama didn't do. It left a huge opening for McCain. Rove and the Rovian model have been able to try a tank through this opening. This is a bad sign for Obama.

Non-Partisan Group:

The Obama plan would reduce taxes for low- and moderate-income families, but raise them significantly for high-bracket taxpayers (see Figure 2). By 2012, middle-income taxpayers would see their after-tax income rise by about 5 percent, or nearly $2,200 annually. Those in the top 1 percent would face a $19,000 average tax increase—a 1.5 percent reduction in after-tax income.

McCain would lift after-tax incomes an average of about 3 percent, or $1,400 annually, for middle-income taxpayers by 2012. But, in sharp contrast to Obama, he would cut taxes for those in the top 1% by more than $125,000, raising their after-tax income an average 9.5 percent.

The Bide/Obama ad is great... I live in CA and Obama/Biden is leading here big time... I really wish I lived in a battleground state where I could make more of a difference to help Obama get elected.

I'm so shocked by the Palin pick by the Repubs... She's such a neophyte and such a radical right winger... I can't belive she's going to appeal to more than the staunchest conservatives that were already planning to vote Repub anyway... I can't imagine that she's going to appeal to moderate or progressive women who supported Hillary that value the right to choose. I am aghast at the thought of her as President if something happens to her 72 year old running mate. He's already beaten skin cancer twice... (how many more times can he hold it off) We have no idea what she's capable of... Since the announcement of her being the vp pick for the repubs there are so many things coming up about her that are not so flattering and make it seem like she wasn't vetted very well by the Repubs... I pray that this is as bad a pick by the Repubs as it seems and that they lose in a landslide to our boys come November...

Hey, I'm so with you. I live in San Francisco, and it bums me out that it's so hard to help. Maybe I can do phone calls, but I want to do more.

To me, it feels kind of silly to put an Obama/Biden sign on my window in this city. Who the heck am I trying to convince? :-)

Go to Obama's site and pick a state to call. You can do it from your home and that will make a different. Tell Indiana, Michigan and other states why they should vote for change and Obama and Biden.

"Working-class PA"

Sarah Palin won't appeal to that crowd, what with all the guns and religion they cling to.
