The Hill:

John McCain senior advisor Carly Fiorina dismissed suggestions Sunday that women supporters of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (R-N.Y.) will turn away from Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) because of her anti-abortion rights views.

"The Democratic party has done a disservice to women by trying to hold women hostage to the issue of Roe v. Wade," Fiorina said on CBS's Face the Nation. "The truth is the most important issue to women, all the polls say this, is the economy. Women are not single issue voters."

McCain's choice of Palin as his vice presidential candidate electrified conservatives who like her views on abortion. Sen. McCain (R-Ariz.) also hopes choosing the first woman to appear on a GOP ticket will attract women voters, but Democrats have insisted Palin's views on abortion will keep Clinton supporters in the Democratic column.

Republican Women are hypocrites in terms of Woman's Rights. They have benefitted from the historical efforts of the Suffragettes and the activist woman of 60s and 70s for their positions in life they currently enjoy. The Left, never the Right, has been the standard bearer for Women's Rights.

Carly Fiorina has "got hers", she enjoys her success due the hardship and sacrifice of woman who preceded her, but is willing to hedge her bets on certain areas of Woman's Rights she can't leverage to her benefit.

I think she said there's no job that's God-given to Americans any more. Which is weird, being pro-life and all, and she is against livelihoods?

I'm a Democrat and Obama supporter. Carly is correct! Democrats do hold those women/ men hostage who disagree with murdering unborn children. Carly is no less a woman because she disagrees with this right to kill a baby.

I dont not see where an abortion has meaning in any Party, because republican nor Democrat has put the issue in its pockets. Do you think GW Bush ran his presidency on Abortion rights. I guess so when he killed over 4000 American soldiers for nothing, he had 4000abortions.

If the most important issue is the economy then why didn't McCain nominate somebody with knowledge about the economy. Instead, McCain chooses a woman as the ultimate insult to other women. McCain didn't even know Palin -- he met her just once. Palin's bio is very lacking in education and foreign policy. Palin's ethics are suspect after firing the guy who wouldn't fire her ex-brother in law. Sadly, this isn't even about Palin, it is mostly about McCain lack of judgment -- another senior moment no doubt.

Huh? Women aren't being held hostage by that issue. We're free to choose which issues are most important to us. And, many of us do not want to have the government interfering with the most personal decisions of our lives. It's interesting how the Republicans want to interfere with our personal decisions, but when it comes to the economy, they are not willing to regulate the insane business practices that led to things like the mortgage crisis. Also, I find it ironic that Carly Fiorina is the one telling us that we should put more emphasis on the economy. I consider her to be like the "poster child" of one of the things that wrong with our economy today -- high level corporate executives that receive multi-million dollar annual compensation while their companies plead the need to cut salaries as a justification for outsourcing! It's even worse, when those same executives get things like Carly's $21 million dollar severance package. How many outsourced jobs could that have saved? Please -- Carly -- go sailing on your yacht and leave us alone.

Women as a group aren't single-issue voters. Only a little over half are even pro-choice. But those who are likely have given this a hell of a lot more thought than people like Carly Fiorina, which is why the middle finger tends to fly so much when it gets attacked.

What Republicans don't understand is that there are people behind the polls. They motivated generations of populist, damn near socialist rural voters to supplement and support the corporatocracy by telling them they would be saving the lives of unborn babies. The ones that didn't switch expectedly have seen through the nonsense.

Palin has no CREDENTIALS - forget "Experience."

Interesting how the GOP are twisting the 'experience' word and omitting the "Credential" word.

She has no CREDENTIALS in dealing with:
* ethnic groups (there are none in Alaska)
* foreign policy
* national economics
* national border control
etc.

It will interesting to see if the media, in print & tv, spotlight on Palin's lack of credentials to be a heart beat away from a 72 year old President.

WHy would anyone be surprised what a subhuman this CArly is? She is the perfect repuklican...."its all about me". There is a special place in H#ll for people like Carly.

Carly, you're being used by the Republicans. You know pro-choice women who are for McCain? Hahaha, ok. You're perpetuating the ridiculous idea that women will vote for McCain because his VP is some girl. You may be stupid, but the rest of us aren't.

Shall women's bodies be "held hostage" to lawmakers, or do they have the right to make their own personal dicisions on what medical treatments they may or may not seek?
