Think Progress:

In a recent BusinessWeek interview, Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) admitted that she believes the Iraq war was fought because of oil:

We are a nation at war and in many [ways] the reasons for war are fights over energy sources, which is nonsensical when you consider that domestically we have the supplies ready to go.

Sounds like Sarah wants to really push Cheney's desire for oil drilling in Alaska.
And who stands to benefit from that?

And to think: McCain only met Sarah 1x and had a phone call with her, and then decided to make her his VP.

I can just see McCain with that creepy smile say.. it was just a joke, ya gotta have some fun.. Doesn't matter who McCain has running with him.. No one is going to elect McCain for president. I still want to see mental status exam results on him. AND YES IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN FOR OIL that is why Bin Laden is still loose.

We are all aspiring to real freedom here ourselves, with a long way to go.

She lost the mother of the year award when she boarded a plane for Alaska from Dallas after she broke her water.

Newsflash...BusinessWeek scrubbed the story.

However, Halperin at Time hasn't.

BARTIROMO: I ALSO ASKED HER WHETHER JOHN McCAIN CONTACTED HER TO BE THE VP. LISTEN TO THIS.

"Palin: i'm a mom and my 19 year old son is going to Iraq in a war over oil which he wouldn't have to do if we drilled in in ANWR"

I just got a chill reading that.
If she can send her son to die for oil, what concern will she have for OUR kids?

When are you people going to say that McCain's choice for VP is "A Palin"? Yes, I said "You People"! Sorry. I see it comming but it hasn't yet, I am sure I will.

I am suprised that you people are blogging! I am from the St. Paul area and thought that there wouldn't be much activity here tonight. I thought that most of you would be away from the computer so that you can attend the 50,000 people protest here on Monday.

The police have been cracking down on weapons and spikes to flatten tires of the busses that carry delegates and buckets of urine, and stuff like that. So be carefull my fellow (Americans)!

By the way, civil disobediance is the same thing as crime! You can convince yourself otherwise but it won't help.

The only people who would think Civil Disobediance is Crime are Facists and Totalitarians! Or or you an Absolute Monarchist?

Methinks that soon the campaign will have to issue a statement that said Sarah Palin does NOT speak for McCain/Palin.

do you think they will Meyers her

Yes. I think that's been their plan all along. Pick her knowing she has lots of ugly skeletons in her closet, politely ask her to take one for the team, she drops out, Republicans feign outrage at the horrible way she was treated just because she's a woman, pick a qualified veep nominee who's an intellectual Stephen Hawking by comparison and ride the wave to November.

Of course it won't matter who they pick for veep, McCain's not going to win no matter what he does. But that's the plan.

Was this interview done before her coronation? Wow. She could end up with her jaw wired shut.

Sarah's just jealous they're going to Iraq to get it when we can destroy ANWR so both she and her husband enjoy some of the profits. Opening that dormant pipeline sounds like a competitive move, don't it.

oops hopefully the Straight talk express gets Palin to tell the right story. Oh Governor of Alaska your state does not have all that much oil I can't find the article now but if I remember correctly it amounted to the equivalent US usage for 200 days or about 4.2 billion barrels so good luck with the north slope oil there and how it is going to save us, it won't .
