I see why GWB and Rove took down The Maverick and Cindy.

The Maverick and his wife are awful people. I can't stand either one of them.

Chris Dodd is more qualified to be president than Uh-bama, as is Joe Biden, Bill Richardson, Dennis Kucinich, John Edwards, Mike Gravel, and Hillary Clinton.

Barack is by far the least qualified of all the democrats who ran for president this election, O can give a good but empty hope and change speech and that is good enough for the O messiah followers.

Ruedrich, however, had already been reconfirmed as Republican chairman and Palin grew estranged from the party. She contemplated a primary challenge in 2004 against Senator Lisa Murkowski, who had been appointed by her father to succeed him in the Senate; she instead endorsed conservative Mike Miller in the primary. Palin also joined with Democratic state Representative Eric Croft to file an ethics complaint against Alaska Attorney General Gregg Renkes, who had close political ties to Governor Frank Murkowski. The complaint alleged that Renkes’ ownership in a coal company represented a conflict of interest when he negotiated an international trade deal with Taiwan; her stand was again vindicated when Renkes resigned his position.

How can ANYONE be sure about Palin? She looked through the desk and personal belongings of others and doing whatever it takes to get what she wants?

Palin campaigned actively for the Republican ticket, led by Frank Murkowski, who had served 22 years in the Senate before running for governor. After the election, Murkowski rewarded her with several job offers before she accepted an appointment in 2003 to the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, which gave her a chance to learn about the state’s energy industry. She was joined on the panel by state Republican Party Chairman Randy Ruedrich; months later, Palin emerged as the driving force behind an ethics probe of his activities. Ruedrich faced questions about conflicts of interest with oil companies; the most serious surrounded a sensitive document that was leaked to an energy lobbyist. Commission staff also complained that he had used the state office to do work for the party. As the commission’s chairwoman and designated ethics officer, Palin spearheaded the investigation that ultimately prompted Ruedrich to resign from the commission. She was asked to personally search his desk and computer files for evidence relating to the allegations. Hamstrung by confidentiality rules, Palin was unable to talk about the case; she grew frustrated and resigned from the commission just 11 months after accepting the post. Her efforts were later vindicated when Ruedrich admitted ethics violations and paid a record $12,000 civil fine.

This 1 issue does not qualify her to be VP. Especially when there are so many that do disqualify her. EG: Creationism as science.

I think right now they are coaching her on answering the major questions of the day. There is a older interview with Mc Cain in which he quoted saying the trouble with Quayle was he wasn't rehearsed on his answers first.

Winning the Governorship or Alaska, doesn't have the same scrutiny of being 2nd in line to President of the US, at this time in history "she's a suburban mom who's mother in law doesn't like her" won't cut it. I think "she's a suburban mom" won her the Alaska election.

This mornning I watched Tom Brokaw on Meet The Press and I wrote them because I was so disturbed by what I saw- this is a part of what I sent to them- please everyone, encourage the Press to do their job.
To MTP-
"please get real journalists to vet Ms. Palin- it was embarrasing to watch Ms. Bartolomo gush and insist that Mrs Palin is an economic guro because she wants to "Drill, drill, drill". Her acceptance that there are no environmental consequesence to drilling were not supported by facts, and not questioned. Please do a better job of vetting this person. For the sake of the country and in the spirit of Tim Russert- the stakes are too high to not do your job properly this time."

Alaskans on Palin

Alaska State Senate President Lyda Green (R): “She’s not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president? Look at what she’s done to this state. What would she do to the nation?” (Green is from Palin’s home town of Wasilla.)

Alaska Democratic Party Chair Patti Higgins: “In this very competitive election for them to go pick somebody who is … under a cloud of suspicion, who is under investigation for abuse of power. It just sounds like a pretty slow start to me. We need a vice president who can step in if, God forbid, something happened to John McCain. I don’t think she’s someone who is ready for that 3 a.m. phone call.”

Randy Ruedrich, Alaska Republican Party Chair: Not giving interviews.

McHugh Pierre, Alaska Republican Party Spokesman: “She brings her voice of new energy and change. And she knows Alaska.”

Indicted Alaska Sr. Senator Ted Stevens (R): “it’s a great day for the nation and Alaskans.”

Andrew Halcro, local blogger who ran against Palin for governor: “This shocking choice says more about McCain’s desperation than it does about Palin’s qualifications”.

and my favorite…

Alaska State Representative Mike Doogan (D): “Either Sarah Palin has talents and skills we were not aware of”, or “John McCain fell down and hit his head”. He also called the prospect of Palin potentially needing to take over as President”pretty scary.”

Maureen Dowd has written an article that in short says: Palin is qualified because it is Republican tradition to choose unqualified people for VP.
