Wasilla City Hall, Sarah Palin's Seat Of Power

I don't know why everyone is dogging out McCain vice-presidential pick Sarah Palin as being inexperienced! As the above picture shows, and this one -- from Flickr user "djcn0te" -- clearly emphasizes, Palin's mayorship of the town of Wasilla, AK made her more than just responsible for the town's governance. She obviously also had to develop the town's photography within 24 hours of receipt. That's no easy task, because the un-drilled parts of Alaska are supposed to be breathtakingly photogenic.

Anyway, as has been pointed out by an emailer, Palin is not a scheduled guest on any of this morning's pundit shows. Naturally, things could change: the schedule was set before McCain made his pick and the Sunday morning shows are able enough to accommodate a change in plans. Her presence will nevertheless be felt, if for no other reason than the fact that Fox News Sunday regular Bill Kristol has already made it clear that he covets her, in his own erotically lupine way. Here's hoping that the closed captioner knows how to spell "AWOOOGA!"

I am curious to know what the budgets are for Wasilla and Alaska. With the low populations, I can't imagine them to be enormous. Alaska's population is that of a medium size city. Certainly, Wassila's was modest. Something tells me she is weak in the economic front as well as the foreign policy although no one is pointing that out.

McCain got into the Naval Academy by nepotism and all but flunked out, and a 26 Senate career purchased through his fathers in laws fortune. Cindy McCain is a rodeo queen who inherited all her father's assets. Sarah Palin lives in a town of 6,800 where she was a beauty queen runner up, soccer mom and President of the PTA, then Mayor, major hunter. Her husband is a fishman and dog sled racer.

Barack Obama was a graduate of Harvard University, head of the Harvard Law Review, and Attorney.
Michele Obama was a graduate of Princeton and an Attorney. Joe Biden has 36 years in the Senate and a law Degree. Jill Biden has a Ph.D. in Education.

Obama has 8 years in the Illinois Legislature. 3 years in the U.S. Senate and has passed major legislation, including a bill on Veteran's Health Benefits. Sarah Palin has been Governor of Alaska for less time than Obama and Clinton campaigned and has a bridge to nowhere she supported.
