Another Palin Firing Scandal Surfaces

Palin, a lifelong member of the National Rifle Assn., started her career as a member of her local city council in Wasilla, Alaska, a town about 45 miles outside of Anchorage, in 1992. She was elected Wasilla's mayor in 1996, when the city's population was about 4,600, according to a 1997 press report (via nexis).

In this role, Palin acted in a way that eerily foreshadows her recent actions while governor. Early in her tenure as mayor, the city council threatened to recall her over accusations that she fired the city's police chief, Irl Stambaugh, and the library director, Mary Ellen Emmons, without warning. She accused them in a letter saying: "I do not feel I have your full support in my efforts to govern the city of Wasilla. Therefore I intend to terminate your employment ..." (The Anchorage Daily News, via nexis) ...

The matter did not follow her as she rose to higher positions in Alaska. In fact, the first firing was nearly forgotten, even when the second firing scandal broke. Perhaps in a state desperate for a reformer, Palin's anti-money-for-votes persona resonates more strongly. In the coming weeks and months, we'll find out if does on the national stage as well.

Gov. Palin was part of a radical group called the Alaskan independent party who main and clear mission was to push a legal vote for Alaskans to secede from the United States. Their motto has been and still is Alaska first ,Alaska always, my question is do you people know anything about Sarah Palin? Do you understand that many people who were very angry at the thought of Mccain heading this ticket is more angry now that Sarah Palin has betrayed them by joining this ticket? The fact she may allow people in the lower 48 to rape Alaska land is foremost on their minds and that's why so many here will not vote for that ticket.

Reading and hearing about this family and its new daily revelations is so messy and uncomfortable knowing about. Obviously she was not properly vetted otherwise all this would have been revealed earlier and it would have shown that she's not a good candidate for vp. Again, it shows a lack of judgment on MCs part and we do not need someone like him in the highest office in the country and in the world. His decisions are risky and could put us all in great harm.

I just saw Bill O on Fox and they were talking badly about Daily Kos and others for reporting the pregnancy story. However, let us not forget their myriad remarks about Obama, Michelle, and others in the past. I do believe that family should be off limits, but our memories should not conveniently be so short.

On this firing issue. It should be reported aggressively along with everything else about this woman. I watched people for several months continue to say nobody knows Obama when in fact many people did.

It has only been three days, and the journalists and investigators should continue vigorously in their efforts. There is obviously a pattern as pertains to how she will use her position. All that is fine, if she is not breaking the law in doing so. The American people need to know.

Shamety got a million $ deal because of his coverage of Obama. Now these creeps want people to lay off their so called unexperienced, troopergate, bridge to somewhere/no thanks nowhere, moral values platform prodigy. These ReThugs are viamently vouching for this Palin person to the point of yelling their responses about her and they always bring it back to Obama. They can't say anything without bringing it back to Obama. They are trying to justify this obvious wrong choice in VP so they won't look bad to the world, well it's too late. The week of Old Party convention and hur GUSTAV news will fade and refocus on the campaign etc, there will be days ahead to re talk about the great o speech and I am certain wonderful ads with parts of it included. Who ever was picked was going to take news off the DNC because of the timing etc, But I am sure that MAC and THE RNC does not want the kind of pub/questions that she is garnering. This is political history in the making! A stunningly inept move by McCain's camp to believe Palin's campaign rhetoric instead of actually vetting her. Now she's being vetted by the press during the GOP convention! So they're doing their best to turn it into a Gustav telethon, and show clips of Dubya and Mac NOT cutting birthday cakes or playing golf! Then they briefly cut to outside the convention hall, where we see some protesters in blue jean cutoffs and sandals facing a wall of cops in full riot gear! Appearantly the cops had to tear gas them because they were playing rock & roll music or something.

I wonder what the rest of the week will be like.

C-Span is the best; the reason why, there aren't a bevy of surrogates, radio heads, pundits, political analysts giving their "unsolicited" views of the way things are going in this election and about the candidates. They make my skin crawl, people actually believe that bull crap.

C-Span is informative in a different way. People can call into C-Span during their morning show to voice their thoughts to the stations interviewer ffor the day from 7:00 to 7:30am ET. Then from 8:00am to 10:00am the callers can ask questions of the special government quests the station brings in.. Whether you believe what they say is a different story..

I heard someone say that Fox news had a panel on Palin's 17 year old's pregnancy. No other station has talked on the subject extensively. In their rush to protect Pelin they have done her more harm. A lot of the Older Republicans probably had not heard the story. They have now, thanks to Fox. We are glad that they are getting the word out to their rabit viewers.
