""This is a time when we take off our Republican hats and put on our American hats."

To Win the election by pretending to be for America First, as usual.

Republicans are

Never for America,

they are always for

Party Cronies First.

Question that has nothing to do with Cindy McCain.
How many of the readers of this article remember the gas rationing of the early 70s?
Did any of you have to get up at 2 AM and load your very small children in the car so that you could go sit in line to make sure that you could buy some gas. It was your turn to buy gas, and if you did not go early enough, there would be none remaining to buy.
How many of you put your children into a wagon so that you could walk a mile to the store to avoid burning the precious gas that you just stood in line for.
Nations answer: lower speed limit to 55 a drive smaller cars---my first non-American car. Sardine can that I could afford to run.
That was approximately 36 years ago. We have not had enought time to break our dependency on foreign oil, now have we folks?

thank you! I guess it was Reaganomics and having Bush in the VP and Presidency...The largest tax increase ever was the increase in SS and now that there is a surplus every year of over 150 billion, that has been used for tax relief for the wealthy...

I would love to see that tax applied to all income over 250,000 and to be used for medicaid in the states.

What I don't understand is why would you consider a man to be president if after more than 25 years in politics, he has done nothing to help the less fortunate - how does a person stand and tell you that after more than 25 years, change is coming from him - he's 72 years old - why would he change now or bring change to us - he needs to give himself a rest - he prospered and now it's time for him to let the younger people pick up the torch - I'm just baffled at the american people who would want to hand over our future to a man who had every opportunity to make things better for the less fortunate and he failed at it -

I think this is a man of supreme arrogance and this is his wish before he dies at the expense of an entire country. This is not a man of honor but a man of selfishness. He must know that he can't really perform the rigors of such a highly stressful position. We have seen both Clinton and Bush turn grey before our eyes. Even Obama is now spouting grey hairs. MCCaine needs to let it go and take "pit bull" with hm.

Before Kennedy, when I was very very young indeed, we weren't subjected to this unending barrage of spouses, children, aunts and uncles and others of dubious interest or importance.
It is the ONE AND ONLY THING I miss about the good old days, aside from being very very young and having fabulous skin.

Where are the fundamentalists when you need them. I thought according to the bible we were supposed to stone adulterers like John and Cindy McCain, not elect them to public office. I think Deuteronomy 11:26 sums up the two conventions perfectly - "See this day I set before you blessing and curse." After 8 years of curses, isn't it time to choose a blessing. Barack in Hebrew means Blessing

Now really! Do you think that the American public thinks that the choices a man makes in his formative sexual years reflects the true decision making ability of a man who wants to be our President.
Once a cheater - Alway a cheater.
McCain proves his cheating once again by picking Palin, a young, sexy gal over all other mature, highly qualified Republican women.
Silly John! Watching you with Palin reminds me of a young man who gets excited watching a ladies mud fight--it excites their base.
When I first say the coming out introduction, I immediate told my husband that Palin is McCain's trophy VP.
Look out Cindy! Once a cheater - Always a Cheater. I forgot, you have the money and that makes John loyal.

Leave Cindy McCain alone!
Cindy McCain has done many good things trying to support the less fortunate in OTHER countries - She helps to bring medical assistance to children of poor countries.
After all, we can afford our own health care - RIGHT!
Was Cindy trying to be a "national" community organizer? Probably not because that is a really funny thing to want to be according to Rudy.
Oil Dependent - American Alaskan Oil for American Cars! No crude from other countries will do.

yes I will always remember Cindy taking drugs from her charity,,, that is really republican-wise, after all she got a tax break buying the drugs for a charity. I want to write off my Budweiser as a charitable deduction.

More and more the repubs are saying foreign policy experts are teaching/ Palin about foreign affairs. Wasn't it Mc Cain who said the president or v p wasn't on the job training.

Yep! Those were his previous thoughts before they were not his current thoughts.

I think that it is safe to say that we all put on our American hats on 9/11. Hillary and Gore made especially strong statements in support of GW Bush.

GW Bush responded by using 9/11 as a pretext for the Iraq invasion.

So the World is the Plantation and the Republican's are the Master (American Imperialism), maybe that is why their convention lacked diversity, and differed from the Democratic convention,we are but servants or slaves in this empire.
02:11 PM on 09/06/2008
You nailed it. The hatred I saw at the Repbulican convention expressed by the belitting of Barck Obama as a "community organizer" looked more like the energy of a lynch mob and the only thing missing was a rope and Barack in the flesh.

The message I took away from this was that people with wealth (largely white but this is not to be confused to say all white people feel this way) who are Republican are saying to the other half of America that they are in power, will remain in power, see look how we are treating your Champion and you have the same thing comming if you think you have a right to sit at our table. HOPE....you have no hope other than the handouts we decide to give you after we take more than our share of this Country's wealth.

Thank God for the Rainbow of people who have gathered under one vision of our Nation for all. God's speed to Barack Obama and Joseph Biden!!!

heck, they probably would have lynched Cindy's sisters along with Barack....Don't they realize how lucky they are to have her for a sister?
02:26 PM on 09/06/2008
Then one has to wonder why do poor white folks want to have anything to do with the Republican party who thinks of them as nothing but ground down in the economy, economically illiterate, and repsonsible for their own foreclosures, lack of health care..ect?

Hate wrapped up in a flag under the banner of Country First that is why? All their feelings of frustration ect... are being redirected by the Republican by the use of Cultural warfare and Hate........this is very scary stuff and not far from what Hitler did in the early beginnings.
12:36 AM on 09/03/2008
It's easy to tell the difference between a Republican hat and an American hat - the Republican hat has ear marks...
