I realize that we are deep, deep in the weeds where this Bristol Palin is concerned, but I'm nevertheless surprised at the strange and seemingly unrelated details that the press has brought out of the ether. Consider these paragraphs about Levi Johnston, the father of Bristol Palin's child, from the New York Post:

Johnston, 17, who is entering his senior year at Wasilla HS, plays on the school hockey team and was once teammates on a youth squad with Palin's older brother, Track, 19, who is now in the Army.

Despite suffering a cracked bone in his shin last season, Johnston scored 24 goals in 24 games.

That's truly an impressive stat line. And yet, we find ourselves where we are today because of an entirely different instance where Johnston slipped one past the goalie.

I realize that we are deep, deep in the weeds where this Bristol Palin is concerned, but I'm nevertheless surprised at the strange and seemingly unrelated details that the press has brought out of the...

I am a concern single working parent, who had a child at the age of 21 years old. First of all, I came from a family with 13 siblings and our parents made sure that education was our first obligation. Secondly, our parents taught us right from wrong and sex education was one of the topics. Third, our parents worked hard everyday and still had time to be parents to their children. I am a proud single parent that took the time out and taught my daughter about sex education when she was 4 years old. Now, she's 20 years old with "NO CHILDREN ". My daughter is now a senior in college majoring in Pre-Law and a minor in Mass Communication. It all starts from the parent teaching their children at home about life not" hockey". Mrs Sarah Palin needs to conduct a reality check. I know several parents that are in politics, but they take out the time and parent their children. Mrs. Palin need to review MySpace regarding her future son-in-law. It appears that Levi Johnston stated that he was a redneck and that he will kick somebody a**. Levi also stated that he did not want to be a father. If Mrs. Palin make it in the White House, I guess Bristol and Levi will be living in a double-wide trailer in the rose garden of the White House.

Why can't the Democrats use Bristol Palin's pregnancy as an example of being Pro-Choice?
Bristol had a CHOICE. She got pregnant so she could either get an abortion or not. She decided not to and that is her CHOICE. If America is a land of freedoms, why not keep this CHOICE available to people. If one has an abortion, then they deal with the consequences because of their CHOICE. It all comes down to free will. Just because someone may be against abortion and another isn't, we should all still have the CHOICE!!!

That only works if you're pro-choice or she had been denied a safe, legal abortion. It's the "RIGHT to life" movement and there's not a lot of wiggle room with a mandate from God. It's their calling to limit choices, not allow them. My choice is not on their choice list whereas theirs is on mine. Their choice has value to them whereas mine does not. My choice and their choice both have value to me. It's like believing that a Right to Lifer would ever have a bumper sticker that said "Choice" or that choise advocates would mandate abortion. Bottom line; Pro-choicers would fight to their deaths to preserve the right of Pro-Lifers to never be forced to have an abortion. Right to Lifers wouldn't lift a finger to preserve actual choice.

Republican Operatives are attempting to suppress any criticism and prevent exposure of their "Diabolical-Cover-Up-Plan to shield Sarah Palin. They have two angles to shut up the critics:
(1) they claim Bloggers are denigrating Sarah's children,
(2) they accuse the main media and internet bloggers of playing the gender card, diminishing Sarah only because she's a woman.

I hope the Huffington Post will realize that we are talking about the integrity and veracity, the competency and credibility of Sarah Palin. Her credentials are under fire - not her children.

The Final True Story about the two Palin pregnancies has yet to be told by the Main Media, but it is out there on Internet Blogs. The bloggers have done the vetting of the candidate that the Republican Operatives failed to do. There is shocking and condemning evidence that proves Sarah is using two false stories to make herself more appealing to the Christian Evangelicals. Bloggers have not brought the Palin children into the fray, Sarah herself did that in attempting to emphasize her pro-choice policies as she puffed up her resume'.

Go online. Google the net - search out the pictures, the video and the details that have been removed from the Alaska.gov website.

The American Voters are victims of an incredible hoax. Christian Evangelicals will be appalled when they find out the truth. Let's make certain this Republican-Operative-Cover-up is exposed immediately.

I'd like to address all of you "Democrats" who are suggesting that those who are posting and taking issue with this "pregnancy problem" should back off, or that it is unreasonable and unfair to judge the candidate in question on this.

ARE YOU CRAZY?

Some of you are suggesting that we should only debate the policy and professionalism of the candidates. How?

McCains policy seems to be a mystery beyond "I was shot down in the Air Force, taken captive, and held for over 5 years, I deserve your vote".

Palins policy seems to be "I am a christian women, a mother, and you should vote for John because I'm on the ticket".

HOW, HOW is taking issue with a woman who has spent so much time advocating for "Abstinence Only" education, who has denigrated families whose teenagers have exhibited "bad judgment" as failures, who has promoted the families RIGHT to provide sex education to their children when THEY feel it is appropriate (as the number of teenage pregnancies continues to rise alarmingly), who has clearly demonstrated that she feels that "IGNORANCE is the best way to deal with a problem", HOW can you SUGGEST that taking issue in light of these recent revelations should be "off the table"?

Obama can order his surrogates to avoid the issue, that is his prerogative
I am not subject to such directives, and I don't believe any of the other people here are either.

You're right the conservative position of willful ignorance and puritanical self-loathing in place of healthy sex education is enough to disqualify her. But her kids didn't sign up to be thrust into the public eye. There are plenty of reasons to criticize Sarah Palin for her own conduct and positions. There's no need to drag her kids through the mud. It was intolerable when John McCain made rude jokes about Chelsea Clinton in 1998. Can we hold ourselves to a higher standard? Yes, we can.

As with so many stories of the past few weeks, this one has left me wondering if there is a limit to what the "Republican Faithful" would be willing to overlook in the people they WILL vote for.

With W's approval rating inexplicably hovering around 25%, recent polls still showing McCain as "competitive" in the General Election, and now Palin garnering significant support amongst Republican Voters in light of all the recent news, one has to wonder if the ENTIRE PARTY suffers from COPROPHAGIA!

They simply seem to "eat this Sh*t up"!

You Dems have double standards. Clinton messes around with an intern, and most of you say it has nothing to do with his ability to lead the country. McClain picks a running mate whose 17 old daughter is pregnant, and you want to question his judgement. You can't have it both ways. Or I quess if you are a Democrat, maybe you can.

Sorry. I don't see your vague connection.

It has nothing to do with leading the country. It is the hypocrisy of "family values" when this woman has five children, one a baby with special needs, and throwing that family into the fire to pursue her own ambitions. Is this what Republican "family values" are all about???

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:05 PM on 09/02/2008

YOU are the ones with the double standards. REPUBLICANS were the one coming unglued when Clinton made his mistake, but the FACT that McCain cheated on his first wife is OK with you. I'm a mother of 4 - I manage to educate my 3 high schoolers about sex and preganncy PREVENTION. Obvioulsy Palin isn't too good at educating her own child but. One side of her mouth is spewing "abstinence eucation only, no choice" and the other side "my daughter made a CHOICE". Talk about a FLIP-FLOP!

I would suggest you look up the definitions of the words "hypocrisy" and "irony".

Most Democrats didn't like what Clinton did, but in the grand scheme of things IT DID NOT have any relevance to his ability to Govern (8 years of unprecedented Domestic Growth, prosperity, and peace).

"Ole slick" never made "family values" a significant part of his platform, nor did he denigrate others for their "dalliances" or faults.

Palin has her ENTIRE REP built on family values and promoting Governmental involvement in personal decisions.

See the difference?

Considering the fact that BC left his office with our country better off (record surplus, positive standing in the world, sound military) I'd say that multitasking was among his strong suits. What's your guy's excuse?

We may have weathered the BC storm but it was a complete distraction from the business of government. That's what this dog and pony show is and we're sick of it. McCain has slapped every single American in the face for bringing it on and turning the election into a circus with him as the (pseu-do) audacious ringmaster. I find it highly insulting as was Clinton's lack of respect for the office. At least Clinton's lack of judgement wasn't perpetuated to manipulate the American people.

If Sarah actually stays in the race and becomes VP, does this mean she and the rest of the Palin tramps will hold sleepovers in the Lincoln Bedroom with their significant others?
