Coale

Newsweek:

John Coale, a prominent Washington lawyer, husband of Fox TV host Greta Van Susteren and a supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, announced today that he was supporting John McCain for president. Coale, who traveled with Sen. Clinton, President Clinton and her family through out the primary season, complained of sexism, and said the Democratic Party is "being taken over by the moveon.org types" in an exclusive interview with Newsweek.com's Tammy Haddad. He said he tried to prevent Clinton's brother, Tony Rodham, from attending an August 18th meeting in Scranton, Pa. with McCain campaign surrogate Carly Fiorina. "I urged him not to go and told him it would embarrass his sister, but he has a mind of his own." Coale says Mr. Rodham asked Ms. Fiorina "about McCain's Supreme Court picks."

It's his one vote, he may use it as he sees fit. You should always vote your beliefs.

Obviously he believes that women shouldn't have the right to determine what happens to their bodies, people shouldn't be be safe from illegal search and seizure of their property, the press should be arrested for doing their job, only the rich should have access to health care, the war should continue in Iraq while the people responsible for 9/11 laugh at the US from Afghanistan and Pakistan, employers should have a right to discriminate in pay based on gender, anyone's home can be broken into at any time and their requests to look at the warrant be denied, people should be arrested for exercising their rights as US citizens and a host of other core values he shares with the Republicans.

The guy is obviously not a Democrat.

But eeewwwww!!! I feel bad for Greta.

this guy is a republican operative without a doubt. he was only trying to support hillary to create trouble because he probably felt she would be a juicy target of a candidate for mccain to run against. any husband of gretta has to be a piece of work.

I know him. He is not a Repug operative. What he is is a rotten sport who is pissed off that Hillary lost after he invested his money and his energy to her campaign.
But he deserves your comment. He has never had a nice thing to say about McCain.
I think he is trying to help McCain win so Hillary gets another shout in 2012.
Grow up John. You're an embarrassment

A Republican mole through and through. His endorsement will not appease anyone but brain dead PUMAs. A Zero Sum loss.

John Coale is not a leading Hillary supporter! He is a Fox News operative. This kind of story is put out to distract from the debacle that is happening in the GOP and all the drama that is taking place there. All along Fox has tried to exaggerate the Clinton story and it is OVER! Really, if they are going to brag about being the best in the business, then for goodness sakes act like professionals once in a while.

I agree with him totally about the change in the Dem with overly zealous left-wing. It's ruined the big tent, and I think more than a few of us are switching parties.

Puma Ann may i have an answer to this question
Why don't you attack Palin for saying that HRC was a whiner ?
and What if Obama had said the same thing?

He did. He said she gets her "claws out" when she's upset. Michelle said worse.

I personally let that stuff go. Didn't forget....but it's not important.

if you are switching parties because you don't like the "overly zealous left", then you aren't a democrat at your core. all of us, all of us progressives and democrats are the same in our belief. barack and hillary are the same at their core. why don't you see this??? if you could pull a lever for john mccain, then you aren't a democrat. period. simple.

our tent has never been bigger. finally the progressives have a say, instead of just treading in the middle of the road that got us into this place as a country. it's the middle of the road that let bush get away with so much.

if you vote for mccain, or if any so-called PUMA's vote for mccain, you and they were never democrats to begin with.

Sadly, there are many typed of Clinton voters that weren't discussed.

Some were voting for her strictly because she was a woman - qualifications be damned.

Some were voting for her out of racism.

Some voted for her because they wanted the Democrats to lose and knew that if she were the candidate that the conservative base of the Republican party would finally be motivated and mobilized.

Some voted for her because they were conservative, appreciated Hillary's hawkishness on foreign policy and conservative social views (pro-censorship legislation cosponsored with Joe Leiberman, etc) and couldn't bring themselves to vote for a 3rd Bush term.

And some of them were just dyed in the wool Clitonistas who were loyal to the Clinton brand name, come hell or high water.

I'm not sure which of those John Coale is, but it's obvious that by supporting McCain, he never believed in what Hillary was trying to accomplish, so he was just an opportunist.

The Dark Side can have him!

ahh, spoken like a true clintonian hypocrite! complain about 'moveon.org' types + sexism in the media against clinton in the same sentence...when moveon. org was formed in 98 to defend clinton's husband while hrc and her husband used the sexist media to trash a young woman so they could stay in power...

"...when moveon. org was formed in 98 to defend clinton's husband" It was formed to defend his cheating on his wife, repeatedly. Yep, sounds like a champion of women there.

jay jay jay, you have no regard for the truth. moveon helped defend bill from unwarented impeachment. even the public refused to buy into that republican lie. bill remained popular during that impeachment..
