McCain Spokesman Stumped Trying To Explain Why Palin Is Ready To Be Commander-In-Chief (VIDEO)

I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Brown And Bounds

So, I know that one of the reasons John McCain hastily chose Sarah Palin as his running-and-soul mate was because he thought that Palin would exude some general appeal to female voters, which is why she's been out on the stump talking about Hillary Clinton and the eighteen million cracks.

But how's this for a little bit of the old backlash? Say you're Campbell Brown, working professional, educated newswoman. Brown, I'd bet, knows a thing or two about glass ceilings (remember this back and forth with Hillary Clinton at one of CNN's debates?). And along comes Sarah Palin, who's basically reached third on a series of throwing errors, talking about how she's going to break that glass ceiling. And Brown recalls that old Morrissey line: "You just haven't earned it yet, baby."

Hmmmm. You see, it's not just that Brown, faced with the prospect of chasing Tucker Bounds all around the barnyard like he's some kind of stuttering, idiotic chicken, sticks with insisting that Bounds answer a simple and direct question. It's that Brown infuses the proceedings with that little extra dose of extra-special sadistic glee that makes it twice as nice to watch and gives rise to all of my furtive speculations, above.

Watch for yourself, and tell me Brown isn't enjoying this:

Get a clue Campbell? And stop being a bully, it's very unbecoming.

Hey, the McCain campaign opened itself up to questions like this.

She asked for one example, and he couldn't provide one. If he would have just said "I don't have that information", that woulda been it, but he couldn't do it.

You sound sexist.
If it were Wolf Blitzer or Olbermann grilling they wouldn't be considered a dully.

She wasn't bullying anyone. She asked fair questions and got a poor rendition of a tap dance instead of an answer every single time.

Cambell Brown is now my hero. She made Tucker Bounds squirm big time. It's about time the media started grilling these guys about there hypocrisy.

And the greatest part of it all? They couldn't dismiss Campbell Brown's questions as being "sexist." They couldn't say she was picking on her like a bully. And then John McCain pulls off Larry King...does he think he really is punishing Larry? He's showing what a chickenshit he is by not wanting his staffers to have to answer difficult questions. Campbell Brown did her job. She dug in and held him like a pit bull in a fight. I want to see her do a direct interview now with Sarah Palin.
Funny how they don't want to do interviews with someone who they think is treating them unfairly. Who's the whiner, now?

Oh, but she WAS being sexist - she called him "baby" at the end. :) No, wait - that was an accurate description.

Whoa...hold on there a dang minute.

Did someone say that McCain's not about to let his staffers go on Larry Kings show and face the prospect of tough questioning?

When did Larry "I-sneaked-out-of-Miami-owing everyone," ever ask tough questions?

He's a lightweight, always has been. Get real.

Now, we must consider the refusal to be on King's show as a real sign of weakness on the McCain camp. If they can't handle King, and Campbell has shown her teeth, where can they go? Oh yeah, there's always FOX. That will be a safe haven.

Nice smile, Campbell. Like Lou Reed sang, "Ooo baby, you're so vicious" :-)

For GODSAKE THE SURGE IS WORKING!!!!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:01 PM on 09/02/2008

The surge "worked" in name only after ethnic cleansing was largely achieved i.e. Shiites and Sunnis killing each other and chasing them out of their neighbouthood. and the Anbar awakening, both of which happened before the new troops hit the ground.

This has been covered by reporters embedded in US army units in Iraq.

There is no way to tell until the soldiers get pulled out. The surge is like putting your finger over a bleed - there is no way to know if it was effective until you remove your finger. As long as the finger stays in place, there is no bleeding but that is no surprise. Just like the surge.

photochick,

I wish I knew. Some of us experience the same thing. I think tiffanyhusseinbanned is one. There's another woman outside the U.S. whose name I can't remember. When she reappeared, she received lots of "welcome back" responses.

Since April 2008, HP has deleted 48 of about 450 of my comments. I didn't even know they were doing it, 'cause I don't often check my comments. HP doesn't allow one (at least this one) to check deleted comments to see what was so offensive.

One such deleted comment was simply, in response to the piece on Cindy McCain opining that Palin has foreign policy experience because Alaska is so close to Russia, "And Cindy McCain is a chemist because she's had her bleached so often." I mean, WTF?

I've also had warnings that I've been banned.

A few days ago I sent HuffPost an e-mail asking them to enlighten me. I'll be surprised if HP writes back, especially if they makes sense.

Welcome to the club. I've had about 90 out of 1300 deleted, and I guess it's quite common, and from what I understand they never respond. I don't use foul language and I don't name-call - though my sarcasm may have gone off the charts a couple of times. Google some combination of Huffington Post censorship and see what you come up with.

Now let's see if this comment gets by the gatekeepers.

I am sure everybody missed this but listen to Tucker when pronounces the name of the Republican VP pick....

I pretty sure it should be 'Pail In', but he says 'Pal In'....

Now some will say I am being picky, but I am convinced that these guys are completely unaware about many things about their own VP choice...

I've voted Republican ALWAYS...until this election!

Bottom line...Tucker didn't have an answer, the GOP is about to implode and McCain is whining and crying POW, POW, POW.

Hey Robin, out of republicans and democrats it's alway the dem's that start calling names. That is usually a sign relating to inteligence. But don't worry I love you anyway.

She did call names, she asked a question that he avoided?

Why? because all the Repubs have is double talk. She is no where near qualified. Argue O'Bama isn't either. So she isn't either.

Hey Synergist, out of republicans and democrats it's always the repub's that start obfuscating, belittling, and accusing of democrats of their own sins. That's usually a sign of desperation. But don't worry, we think that if you start thinking for yourself, there is hope.

Speech isn't free when someone wants to approve every comment on a blog. It's no different than what China has been doing to it's people. All blog sights should remove censoring dialogue controls.
