McCain Spokesman Stumped Trying To Explain Why Palin Is Ready To Be Commander-In-Chief (VIDEO)

I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Brown And Bounds

So, I know that one of the reasons John McCain hastily chose Sarah Palin as his running-and-soul mate was because he thought that Palin would exude some general appeal to female voters, which is why she's been out on the stump talking about Hillary Clinton and the eighteen million cracks.

But how's this for a little bit of the old backlash? Say you're Campbell Brown, working professional, educated newswoman. Brown, I'd bet, knows a thing or two about glass ceilings (remember this back and forth with Hillary Clinton at one of CNN's debates?). And along comes Sarah Palin, who's basically reached third on a series of throwing errors, talking about how she's going to break that glass ceiling. And Brown recalls that old Morrissey line: "You just haven't earned it yet, baby."

Hmmmm. You see, it's not just that Brown, faced with the prospect of chasing Tucker Bounds all around the barnyard like he's some kind of stuttering, idiotic chicken, sticks with insisting that Bounds answer a simple and direct question. It's that Brown infuses the proceedings with that little extra dose of extra-special sadistic glee that makes it twice as nice to watch and gives rise to all of my furtive speculations, above.

Watch for yourself, and tell me Brown isn't enjoying this:

This is one of the most unprofessional interviews I've ever seen. She would never let him finish most of his answers and every time he started to compare Palin to Obama and Biden she would interrupt. Hey as biased as the media has been against McCain and Palin I now know they've got something good going on. They got my vote.

that is a journalist's job....to ask questions and actually get answers.

I agree. And when asking a question one should permit a full answer without interrupting. Also it would be good to ask multiple questions instead of riding a dead horse to nowhere. Kinda like at saddleback when Obama didn't answer the questions but dodged instead. The interviewer didn't start assailing on full assault and waste the air time on a moot subject.

She was interrupting him because he wasn't answering her question. He just kept rambling talking points and making things up and dancing around -- he never answered her question. I gotta tell you -- it was a sight for these old eyes to see a reporter FINALLY hold someone's feet to the fire. You go Campbell birl.

He never answered the QUESTION? And you know it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He went all around the answer to mention O'Bama, the question is and will always be what will make her good to be the next POTUS for a 72 year old who may not make it?

Not to say he will pass away but he is closer than most folks I know.

Ms Brown, Thank you for doing your job!! I think you might be the first reporter in years that refused to take the talking point of the day and made or at least attempted to make him answer the question!!! I hope you get a raise for this. By the way your hot, smart women are sexy to us real men!

THANKYOU Ms. Brown for doing your job: asking a specific question and trying to get an answer to the question asked. I don't care who the question is directed to it bothers me to see "journalists" collapse and give up on getting the answers the public has a right to know and in this case the public HAS A RIGHT to know this information about a potential VP or President.
McCain is canceling interviews now as punishment - huh? You mean he's (or surrogates) supposed to get a pass on his decisions? He doesn't have to explain his reasoning to the public? What is this a monarchy? Palin interviews delayed because of this? Maybe she's getting a little extra tutoring.

Ms. Brown is a star - do your job no matter who it is you interview.

Yes, it is so irritating when they cave because an interviewee can't answer the question!! Finally someone with the integrity to get the real news for us! And as Tucker pointed out (by not coming up with an answer), Palin has no experience in this area. "Over the line" as the repubs are defining this interview? I don't think so, she just asked a question!

AH hahaha. Can't wait for them to call Campbell a "misogynist" (I could almost hear the breeze from the fluttering pages as the republicans flipped the pages in their dictionaries looking up that one during the Dem primary). Best part: when she called HIM "baby." Loves it!

OMG......this guy doesn't know one IODTA about the National Guard! The only command the Govenor has over the National Guard is during local emergencies. When the Guard is mobilized they are under Federal Control. Ie controlled by the Pentagon. And I don't think McCain has any real command experience either. His Biography notes that was only the CO of a Naval Training squadron. Those are commands that aren't exactly sought after.

The actual head of the Alaska National Guard just said that Palin has NO role in commanding the Guard in a military sense, and that SHE IS NOT EVEN BRIEFED on that. Not even briefed! Talk about trying to make bricks without straw.

And McShrub just gives the brushoff to Larry King...because quote"

"Wolf Blitzer just reported that the campaign has canceled a scheduled interview with Larry King due to an unfriendly segment last night on CNN -- the segment we flagged last night where the network's Campbell Brown grilled McCain spokesperson Tucker bounds over Sarah Palin's lack of foreign policy experience.
.

Blitzer said the McCain campaign complained that Campbell Brown's grilling of Tucker Bounds over Sarah Palin's lack of foreign policy experience was "over the line."

In true form the repubs send out a double-talker to keep everyone far from the truth. I'm beginning to think they are all at the bar drinking way too many beers with their sinking leader. Now, if this woman is prepared to step in and become president then I'm ready for everyone to convert to Hethernism.
Being the founding father of the first Church Of Hethern I invite all to services on any day of your choosing.

Go Campbell. Who knew? CNN IS BACK! This is the type interview that the corporate media has stifled over the past eight years. I used to think Campbell was a Republican shill but obviously she is more fair and balanced than I ever imagined. This is what a T.V. journalist is supposed to be like! She is spot on with her line of questioning! Kudos!

Obama's numbers took a huge jump today on http://www.fivethirtyeight.com. I've been watching them every day for months and today's numbers are the largest jump Obama's numbers have seen.

Wow! This felt like journalism. She did not let him off the hook throughout the whole interview. Hilariously he went through every RNC talking point almost at random and without ever answering the question. However I can answer the question. The answer is: she has no experience whatsoever. Nothing. Nada.
