Rove: GOP Attack Groups Need Your Help

Political strategist Karl Rove, freed of his White House role, is encouraging major Republican donors to give their money to organizations that operate independently of the Republican Party and are poised to spend upwards of $100 million trying to elect conservatives this fall.

Mr. Rove, the architect of President Bush's election victories, has been telling Republican benefactors across the country that giving to official Republican Party fundraising committees will not be enough this year, according to people familiar with his pitch over the past few months.

They said Mr. Rove has regularly expressed concern that Democrat-leaning organizations such as MoveOn.org and labor unions could swamp the Republican Party's money machine and overwhelm the presidential campaign of Sen. John McCain, Arizona Republican.

Palin has no CREDENTIALS - forget "Experience."

Interesting how the GOP are twisting the 'experience' word and omitting the "Credential" word.

She has no CREDENTIALS in dealing with:
* ethnic groups (there are none in Alaska)
* foreign policy
* national economics
* national border control
etc.

It will interesting to see if the media, in print & tv, spotlight on Palin's lack of credentials to be a heart beat away from a 72 year old President.

I think the reason Rove is asking for donations to go to independent republican organizations rather than to the GOP is because the party is beginning to fragment. Think about what has just occurred within the past week. McCain had an virtual unknown person thrown at him for his VP. Bush and Cheney not even going to the Republican convention to support their own candidate. I think that Rove wants donations to go to independents rather than McCain directly because they are now fighting each other. I think there is a major power struggle going on behind the scenes that is undermining McCain's decision making.
