The New York Times talked to GOP Governor Mark Sanford about Bristol Palin's pregnancy today:

Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina said that he had heard no discussion about removing Ms. Palin from the ticket. In fact, he said, he thought her daughter's pregnancy would not hurt her with voters.

"People are looking for real," he said in an interview. "Real means blemishes, real means warts, real means real. These family imperfections make people say, 'That family isn't so different from my family.'"

Early reaction among women at the Republican convention to the news about Bristol Palin's pregnancy was almost uniformly supportive.

But I bet he heard of a new Hurricane coming into St. Paul... it's called PALIN!

A train wreck waiting to happen... that is McCain's LAME campaign....

He better spare us voters the agony and concede defeat right now... he is sure as hell NOT going to be the next president... most Republicans will stay home and not vote... and there will be 45 MILLION NEW registered Democrats out to give Obama a LANDSLIDE HISTORIC VICTORY!!

SCREW THE POLLS... They are WRONG! They call Tulsa, OK, and El Paso, TX, to poll people....
that's how they get McHuuriCain at just 5 points from Obama... when the truth is.. Obama is at least 20 points ahead of that Palin 100 years old corpse who wants to be president!!!

Polls....that's just the thing. They're created, and the media is making this "race" feel close, when in reality it's a landslide. But it wouldn't garner any ratings if the outcome would be known now. And it wouldn't seem like our democracy works (it doesn't). So they try very, very hard to make it seem close. But the Repubs did their polling behind closed doors and found that no traditional VP choice McCain would make could move the numbers. He would lose with every one. That's the reason they had to go with Palin. It wasn't their first choice, after all, they were making the "inexperienced" argument all this time. They had to change the equation and go for a new face, go for broke. They needed someone likeable, and young, who would take the camera off of McCain. They accomplished that. I don't think they're going to accomplish much else, though.

Okay, boys and girls. The party in the Republican Party is over.

Time to stop talking about silly things like whether Sarah has a Downs Syndrome kid or a pregnant kid or any kids at all.

This is about whether she is qualified to be President of the United States, in a time of crisis, at a moments notice.

The answer is NO. So it's time for her to go home.

John needs to visit the "time out" chair. As the mother of three, I recommend one hour for every year of life, therefore 72 hours. This should be long enough to find him a new VP to play, excuse me, TO RUN with.

I think maybe, that ALASKA would best be served by being part of it's natural land locked neighbor --CANADA. !!! IF THEY EVER LOOSE QUEBEC etc..... (CANADA is a confederation of Provinces that allows them to have a provincial vote to be independent)... We don;t need leaders who are gun nut hunters ,whose kids get preg, and are not really curious about the world beyond their own horizons. There are many good people there, esp the native ESKIMOS. WE should always seek leaders who are the best and the brightest, educated, and enlightened. WHY NOT THE BEST, LEADERS FOR A CHANGE!!!! (TITLE OF DEMS WINNING TKT THEME OF 1976) AND TODAY---'O BIDEN '08!

To you Right Wing Fundamentalists:

The Bible says that fornication or immorality is an abomination, and considered as "filthy" before God (Revelation 17:4).

In order to avoid immorality, the Bible says that God created marriage (1 Corinthians 7:1-2).

The Bible says that if a Christian is sexually immoral, other Christians should separate their company and fellowship from him/her (1 Corinthians 5:9-11).

Okay Family Value voters, you are to separate company with Bristal Palin according to your own master. Where is your adherence to the Bible now?

God create the sanctity of marriage and saw that it was good. Then he spoke forth and said "lo, there shall be a marriage license to document the union for tax purposes." Then from out of his bosom sprang divorce attorneys, and God said "let there be pre-nuptial agreements." And all the people of the land sighed with great relief.

(Imaginations 17:5)

As Commander and Chief, you don't get 2 chances to make things alright, and I'd love to see the reaction from women voters who are clearly not only offended that John McCain attempted to parade a women on stage that in order to attempt to grab votes out of people that aren't smart enough to see through that political ploy that works out to exploitation of women, but then also, kicked her off the ticket once he found out how that she carries too much baggage (i.e. her kid carries too much "baggage"). My question: How does a Commander in Chief save face when he has to walk back to the American people and say "I made a mistake" ? Answer: He doesn't because he is not a real Commander in Chief.

This goes to show that John McCain has a life time of experience, but he still makes terrible judgment? How can you trust John McCain to make decisions as The President of the United States of America when he can't even make good and obvious decisions about who to keep company with and how to keep his own house in order? This was a terrible political move, and the only thing that I can imagine that would hurt John McCain more than having Sarah Palin as his running mate is the fallout and political repercussions that would occur if McCain, a candidate who says that his judgment is based off his experience, has to tell the world that "oops! I made a mistake, she is not a good running mate, give me one more chance,...ok, what about Mitt Romney?" That is not the sign of a political maverick or of some one who is qualified to make TOUGH decisions and TOUGHER decisions than this one as President. It's the sign of a weak leader who doesn't have enough passion to know who he even wants to run with and of a political coward willing to run with anyone as long as they get him elected.

I'm an Obama supporter and I'm appalled at how low some of his supporters on this message board have sunk. I think Sen. Obama and Biden would be ashamed if he read all the hateful messages on this message board and others. Let the Repubs right-wing Limbaugh nuts be the ones to look foolish and not us. We should rise above some of this.

This should highlight how ROVE AND THE FAR RELIGIOUS RT have a hold on MAC'S final decisions and we should be frightened by that prospect!!!!! THEY ARE ANTI WOMAN'S RTS, NO HEALTH CARE, NO EDUCATION, ANTI SCIENCE, FOR WARS AND GUNS, ANTI GAY PEOPLE, not to mention anti MORMON. WE will not be duped again no matter what the gop spin or MSM water they carry for MAC. GET OUT THE VOTE-- O' 'BIDEN '08!!!

Watching person after person with a straight face extol the virtues of her as a VP with experience was a hoot today. And watching Larry King go back to the same question over and over as to Do you really thinkg she is quailfied to be president and watching Molinari and others dodge that straight answer was unbelievable.

WOW geolee I saw it too and not just on Larry King. It goes to show these Republicans have no mind of their own or they have no courage. It's the same talking points VERBATM over and over and over again! Kinda like the POW POW POW POW POW POW POW ad infinitum, which we'll hear once again at the convention, along with the same gushing over Palin. The Dems have their talking points too but it's the talking points or slogan of their campaign.

No, it just goes to show the Repubs chose the wrong guy. It goes back to Robert Dole. Just because you're a senior statesman who has paid your dues in the party doesn't mean you're the best qualified to run. The Repubs would have done better with Mitt Romney on the ticket.

I'd suspect Ms. Palin is having seconds thoughts that sex education for teens might not be such a bad idea.

Gov. Standford may not have heard it but rumors are flying. Personally I hope the rumors aren't true I'm looking really forward to a foreign policy debate between Gov. Palin and Sen. Biden. I want to hear her back up the republican talking heads claims that because Alaska is next to Georgia she's knowledgeable on foreign policy matters.

This is a quote from the original founder of the Alaskan Independence Party that Pulin was an active member of until 1996.

"I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions." (Joe Vogler)

Belonging to a political organization that was founded on a hatred of America raises serious questions about her patriotism. This is much more of a real issue than a flag pin.
