I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Outside the RNC, Arianna ran into Republican strategist Kellyanne Conway and asked her for her thoughts on Republican vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin. Conway's response offers a unique defense of Palin from a woman's point of view. Watch the video below.

So she is saying that unlike many men Palin is not playing golf (the devil's game) and having affairs so she has all this extra time to be a good Vice President. Now that is logic that is going to help her candidate. LOL

Not having affairs- like McCain did.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:37 AM on 09/03/2008

Maybe had an affair like McCain did! Stay tuned

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:10 AM on 09/04/2008

Both her points are ridiculous -

A - She might not golf, but as the photos the Republican Party has thrown around show, she hunts, fishes, and spends an awful lot of time with a gun on her shoulder. Golfing might take up 5 hours of time on a weekend, but all of the above does, too.

B - She may or may not be having an affair, but which takes more time, taking care of a huge family or getting some on the side? And it's not just Spitzer and Edwards who are having affairs, by the way - what about McCAIN????

More reverse sexism from the folks complaining that critics are being sexist.....

I am sorry, but does 'Family Values' have a general definition, or is it simply whatever the republican'ts define it as?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:40 AM on 09/03/2008

No question. It was not so long ago that the Repubs were jumping all over liberals and feminists because women with those attitudes clearly did not have family values because if they did, they would be staying home with their children instead of working. Likewise liberal parents and feminist mothers who daughters had children out of wedlock proved the rightys were correct that such attitudes caused them to be unfit parents.

Isn't it something how time and Palin as VP choice has changed the attitudes of the right.

All I have to say is watch the CNBC interview with Palin and Maria Bartaroma. If you think this woman is a lightweight, you're kidding yourself.

You're setting the standards so low for a powerhouse.

Where she said we should drill in Anwar so we could stop fighting in the Middle East.

She is a one issue woman.......oil. She was absolutely passionate about it. Give this women power and I guarantee you she will abuse it. She starts out as a firecracker and when the real work begins she fizzles.............. A good vetting process might have uncovered this.... check her real record as mayor and as govenor not the one presented by her and the McCain campaign.

The lady is a hunter, so am I. Hunting is a sport that takes a lot of time and requires you to be out in the woods, out of touch, for days at a time.(Unless your quarry is caged birds and lawyer faces!) And if not having an affair, as far as we know, is a qualification for the Vice Presidency, we should just elect single people, who by definition, can't!

Oh, her hunting doesn't take much time. She hunts from airplanes, chasing animals down until they stop from exhaustion or terror. I guess that's better than hunting birds with clipped wings from a big ol' SUV.

As a woman who lived in Alaska for many years and yes, who fished commercially, among other things, I do not want some moralizing prom queen tellling me what I or my daughter can and cannot do for birth control or abortion. That is my business and not Sarah Palin's. The fact that her daughter got pregnant at 17 is my business, because it proves that abstinance does not work. Like hell I'm going to allow her twisted religious views to control my daughter's reproductive rights.

Yet in the same breath Palin wants to limit government growth to expand personal liberty.

NO need for birth control if SELF CONTROL is practiced. NEVER a need for abortion.

YES. If only women practiced SELF CONTROL and didn't give in to the charms of rapists (date-rape and otherwise). Everyone knows that sex is for PROCREATION ONLY and, barring that, you should just keep your dirty-parts to yourself. Keep that lust in your heart, where it belongs.

maybe if the repiglet corporations (many of whom have outsourced so many american jobs) weren't using sex to sell everything from soda pop to prom accessories (and now perhaps even a VP candidate!?), self-control might be a might easier....

where was the parenting, here? where was the honest talk w/ her daughter at the age of femalehood about CONSEQUENCES?

why would I support anyone w/ such a rigid stance on a specific issue when her own family proves the 'ACTUAL' results from such an ignorant and ostrich head in the sand approach to the facts of life?

it's taking all my self control right now not to call you a bumper sticker bubblehead

Does that SELF CONTROL apply to your uncle who just raped you and got you pregnant. Or your sister, or own daughter. Then you get to live with that baby (with a high chance of mental retardation due to the incest) for 9 months in your stomach - and give it up! Yeah! Boy those republicans really are following that "less government" mantra they love to to talk about.

I hate how all their spin is "this happens in all families and will help ordinary women relate to her and who can control teenagers". As the mother of 2 teenagers I am offended by this attempt to trivialize teen pregnancy and even more offended by the implication that teenage pregnancy has nothing to do with lack of parenting. And as a woman I am horrified that even if a woman was raped Palin would like to see her forced to have the child of a rapist.

"The fact that her daughter got pregnant at 17 is my business, because it proves that abstinance does not work. "

I beg to differ. Unless it is now done in a way that I don't know, abstinence does, in fact, prevent pregnancy unless artificially inseminated. This was not abstinence and was not protected sex.

People like you always use the buzzwords of "reproductive rights" to avoid the rights of the unborn to live. Oddly, these same people usually get all sweaty over having rapists and murderers get the death penalty. Must be a surreal world to live in. Just think of the death penalty as a late term abortion and you can have some closure and think of "reproductive rights" as a death penalty and that gives you some perspective.

Sarah Palin didn't take away your daughter's right to an abortion. Your teen can decide for yourself without your permission, although you may get a notice in the mail after it's all over. Alaska's abortion laws are very liberal.

From www.stateline.org, Alaska won't even allow Catholic hospitals to refuse abortion services.

"Refusal to provide abortion: All states except Alaska, New Hampshire, Vermont and West Virginia allow doctors to refuse to perform abortions. And all states except Alaska, New Hampshire, Vermont, West Virginia, Connecticut, New York and Rhode Island allow private and/or religious medical institutions to refrain from offering abortion services."

Here an Anchorage Daily News article: Alaska teens can make own abortion decision

Imagine a situation where the usually well-scripted and choreographed GOP is struggling for answers and talking points...it's beautiful.

Maybe the should incorporate Flounder from the Little Mermaid as their mascot.

"Sarah Palin has successfully exchanged carbon dioxide for oxygen for the past 44 years. Now that's a commitment to the environment!"

McCain will win with this woman, she will become Hillary Clinton. She will attack Obama, while he cannot answer her back because they will accuse him of being an "angry Black man," beating up the lovely white lady, they will accuse him of SEXISM, Sexism is what she will be running on, because they want the women votes, they have already started to accuse the media of sexism. , because they are trying to scare the media into not asking who she really is. Any negative things said about her will be blamed on Obama. And if all that don't work she will just cry and I am quite sure that will work a treat, it worked for Hillary. I smell a big dirty rat. This is a major stunt to bring Obama down and that is the only reason she was chosen.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:34 AM on 09/03/2008

I agree that he can't attack her! However, Hillary can! I'm going to wait and see how this plays out. My conversation with my friends regarding executive experience, let's remember a big state named Texas, who had 10 times the budget of Alaska, probably 3 times the cabinet members and probably more state employees than the town of Wasilla. This Governor of Texas, is now the President of the United States. How was his executive decision making? Curious to get thoughts on this?

Arianna's right. Kellyanne Conway has a good point.
Having 5 children should not be an issue. It wouldn't be an issue for a man.
I HATE agreeing with Conway!

There is enough to go after Palin on the issues!
