I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Outside the RNC, Arianna ran into Republican strategist Kellyanne Conway and asked her for her thoughts on Republican vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin. Conway's response offers a unique defense of Palin from a woman's point of view. Watch the video below.

Talk about a sexist remark!

Ms. Conway, Is this the best you can come you with? Give us all a break!

We have brought about our own demise and we have Rachel Maddow, CNBC, and this post to thank for it. The Democrats may really lose this election and I can't stand this anymore. The Democrats ran a dirty ugly campaign that attacked constantly the person. Attacking the person in Palin's case is going to backfire because people will sympathize with her now, they have had enough of this smear campaign, and people will remember the machine that character assasinated our own. Come up with a better idea than this for once.

Didn't "give up" golf in support of the troops, only to have it come out he was seen playing AFTER the date he supposedly gave up the game?

And affairs, who is she referring too? Clinton? McCain? Edwards? Newt?

As far as I know, only one of these men in running for president in 2008.

The right, so conflicted, so confused, so befuddled

So wrong for our country

Abe Lincoln , looking down from the Lincoln Monument , remembering all the lives lost at Gettysburg , thinks " Well , at least she doesn't play golf ". To what a pathetic state America has fallen .

Well put.

Wow. She just implied that all men cheat on their wives and play golf. Meanwhile, the Mccain camp is screaming sexism because Biden said Palin was good looking in comparison to himself.

I bet by the end of the week democrats will be getting attacked for the way the say the word "she". And I'm not kidding.

I have been laughing my head off about the McCain camp jumping on Joe Biden for his light-hearted remark that SP was better looking than he is.
It's kind of a stretch when you call sexism on someone observing that another candidate is attractive.
What the republicans expected was sexist attacks, because that is what they would have done. with none forthcoming, they are jousting at shadows.

I still think the reason Democrats are rabid over this choice is because she's a woman. Americans don't want a woman in charge. Or even second in charge. They despise women in power, and see only negatives. (Hillary got this flack, so did Ferraro.) Palin has a stellar record of public service. The reasons I've heard for disliking her range from "she's against abortion" and "she's against gay rights." Gays aren't getting any rights, from what I can see, by having Democrats in charge (they have the same view as the Republicans, "marriage is between a man and a woman.") That leaves abortion. I'm not seeing that this country would ever outlaw abortions, it would stir up too much controversy. Yes, I know, Republicans don't like late term abortions in particular. Don't we have to draw the line somewhere? So as far as I can tell, the reason Democrats hate her so much is that they're petty and jealous? Certainly they can't be ruling out good leadership because of a daughter's teen pregnancy. Ask any 17 year old - they aren't always in a habit of doing everything their parents preach or say. I certainly never did. http://mespace.wordpress.com

"I still think the reason Democrats are rabid over this choice is because she's a woman"

Excuse ME but I think more than a few democrats voted for Hillary Clinton if I'm not mistaken?

Get your facts straight the majority of democrats at LEAST feel gay people deserve rights as eual citizens which is a hell of a lot more than republicans think they deserves.

how could the "democrats" possibly hate her? We don't know her well enough to hate her. She's been on the radar for FOUR DAYS.

Your post was pretty reasonable until you then decided to engage in name calling. You effectively imply that any disagreement with choices for political offices of yours are a priori invalid and due solely to envy and small mindedness. You should have stopped while you were ahead. How would you feel if I accused you of the same thing? Do you care?

But getting back to your point, what you seem to be saying is that the Republican platform of no abortions under ANY circumstances is a dog and pony show. That the anti-abortion plank at the GOP convention is just rhetorical masturbation.

But I don't read minds and so I have to take what the GOP is saying at face value.

As for what gays are going to get out of this election, I'm afraid that you are largely right for now. The country is slowly evolving on that issue, but politicians aren't exactly the most courageous lot and so even Democrats are going to tread lightly on this until the polls show overwhelming favor for gay equality.

On Palin's leadership quality, that is perhaps one of those eye of the beholder things, but I can't believe someone who is under investigation by her own state can survive a vetting process unless this was just playing to a special interest group (evangelicals). I also don't agree with her political positions. Ir's fine if you like them, but we can be reasonable people and agree to disagree, right?

Look, if Sarah Palin was a man the Democrats would be making the exact same attacks about John McCain's lack of judgement in making the pick. The fact of a matter is that McCain didn't pick a woman to be in charge, he picked a woman who he never intends to see in charge. He picked a woman for just the reason of being able to fend off democrats' attacks with false sexism charges, while McCain himself is actually well known for sexism (just search for his sexist jokes about women, like the infamous rape-joke).

By the way, most Democrats are just fine in allowing gay marriage which is something the Republicans strongly oppose. Also, McCain has made it very clear he wants Roe vs. Wade overturned, and if that would happen many red states would outlaw abortion (don't some places already have laws in place that would activate once Roe vs. Wade would be gone?)

And Palin's stellar public service record? Firing people for not supporting her (and she "knows in her heart" when somebody doesn't). I'm not even talking troopergate here, apparently she fired somebody because they refused to ban certain books in libraries. Hasn't America suffered enough under the leadership of someone who rewards loyalty above service to the country and prefers ignorance to science?

Let's do the math. My young children are up from about 7am to 7pm. In 12 hours, she will be working, hm, 11-12 of those! Unless McCain follows his campaign schedule and Bush's schedule and spends almost 2 full years of his 8 years on VACATION... maybe Palin will have plenty of time to catch moose then.

That is an interesting point. Is Todd going to quit his job to be a househusband or will be taxpayers be footing the bill for a nanny for her? Or put the kids in daycare?

Don't think Tipper didn't have nannies over at the US Naval Observatory!!!!

Todd and the other 5 or 6 First Gentleman of the female Governors in these great states have already put in some time. They usually have to quit their jobs because of conflict of interest, which Todd did do in his position with BP. Now he does commercial fishing during the summer season, is a househusband the rest.

How does KellyAnn know Palin isn't having an affair. We don't know about these things until they come out. So please give me a freaking break. As far as the time on her hands from not golfing, she spends those 5 hours shooting caribou.

Never seen so many professionals, so stupid! I cannot believe the logic/BS these IDIOTS use to justify their choice. Sarah should have turned the offer down. Being bubbly, former beauty queen, and a hellraiser is alright in its place and time. Her family is in trouble, they need her! Her daughter's name has become a household name, all sort of pictures/links have surfaced. Bristol is not the 1st to have a baby out of wedlock and she won't be the last, although it is more acceptable now then back in the day! AND, Bristol is not the first to keep her baby and she won't be the last, enough for all of the glory. To force those kids to get married is a mistake...Levi says "he don't want kids." We were shocked at the selection, it is like opening pandoras' box. It's a lot of Palin stuff out there. I am so ready for this election to be over!

Can you say hypocrisy? If Palin was a Democrat and was Obama's pick for VP, Rebuplicans and conservatives like this woman would be foaming at the mouth with glee disguised as outrage that someone who shirked her parental responsibility of teaching her child the abstenance only policy of the Bush administration and evangelist christians, could possibly ever be put in a position where she might be asked to take over as President of the United States. God forbid!
