Bloomberg:

Former Texas Senator Phil Gramm, who stepped aside as John McCain's campaign co-chairman in July after an uproar over comments that those worried about the U.S. economy are ``whiners,'' today revisited that sentiment.

``If you're sitting here today, you're not economically illiterate and you're not a whiner, so I'm not worried about who you're going to vote for,'' Gramm told supporters of McCain at a Financial Services Roundtable event in Minneapolis on the sidelines of the Republican National Convention.

Gramm, 66, stepped down as a senior adviser to McCain in July after telling the Washington Times that the U.S. is a ``nation of whiners'' facing a ``mental recession.''

WHY isn't this miscreant in prison?
Of course, one could ask the same of Cheney, Rove, Bush, Rumsfeld, Powell, Rice, Ashcroft, Gonzales, Addington, Meyers, the CEO of Exxon/Mobil, Norquist, Ralph Reed, etc etc
Now, it's only peaceful protesters, activists, journalists & poor people who get arrested.

Gramm is not in prison because the Republican controlled Congress ignored Gramm's actions to deregulate the financial industry and the futures industry even though they knew he took money from Enron. McCain says Gramm is his friend for 26 years and one of the most respected individual to ever serve in Congress.

Everyone in Congress in 2001 knew what Gramm did. Gramm did not run for reelection because of the Enron scandal. He went work for UBS that has been under investigation for years. UBS has been providing tax shelters in Switzerland for wealthy Americans

Enron cost billions. Foreclosure Phil caused trillions in bailouts to mortgage the future for generations to come.

Regardless of whether you're liberal or conservative, socialist or capitalist, one thing's very clear Phil Gramm's policies are associated with the Enron scandal, the subprime mortgage meltdown and the fiasco on the energy futures market

Sorry Phil, good try. But you're not going to distract the press and take the heat off of Palin.

I remember when Gramm wanted to be president. The racists within his own party took one look at Mrs. Gramm, who is Asian, and decided that Phil was not the guy for them.

Is there any wonder that Bridget McCain's face is on a milk carton?

Phil you are so out of touch and have been drinking booze and not kool aid as it has been destroying the brain cells. The whiners you are calling us when that is your choice of words is still calling Americans US citizens who have what is left of the Bill of Rights to protect us, and it is sad when people can see through the false things that McCain is putting out and you see the need to call us names. McCain picked Palin because he couldn't have Joe which would have pleased you to no end but the GOP top sad NO to anyone who was pro choice so Mac chose the one who would upset the whole race. No vetting makes the GOP look like idiots and fools and the cost of the pick grows daily by the nasties coming out of the Palin bag. It is unbelieveable that a no one with so many problems and lies would round out the ticket for the GOP and this time the cover up stinks enough that more will smell it.

Everybody's a whiner who doesn't have a few million dollars or more sitting around. After losing a job, a house, medical bills, bankruptcy, student loans, etc., etc., etc., it kind of does that to some people thanks to the repub ba*tards.
