Broadcasting & Cable:

According to CNN, Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) pulled out of a scheduled interview with the network after a segment with Campbell Brown and a top McCain spokesman Monday night in which Brown asked for examples of a foreign-policy decision made by Republican vice president pick Sarah Palin.

McCain was scheduled to appear on Larry King Live, but CNN's Wolf Blitzer said Tuesday that the campaign told the news network they thought Brown's interview with spokesman Tucker Bounds was "over the line."

Soooooo.... McCain's crew is afraid of putting him of a softball interviewer like Larry King?
That doesn't say much about his ability to handle the hardballs of being in charge of this country.

It's not easy confronting the truth and Larry's program is the most unbiased on TV - so MC's refusal to be there simply means that he's unable to handle comments about him or his campaign and vp. A complete denial of reality - another senior moment.

McCain's decision to "take his ball and go home" fails accountability for the first choice as potential commander in chief, the vetting and choosing of a vice president.

Worse, it shows compromised judgment. He lost free air time, demonstrating poor fiscal responsibility in a campaign. The decision is bizarre enough on that basis. I guess the media and American people have been dismissed from the throne room in McCain's mind.

Now, that mind worries me. Before this, I found calls for McCain to take an Alzheimer's test insulting, but looking around the web I found that "contradicting the afflicted person's perceived reality might cause agitation" http://www.alzinfo.org/alzheimers-treatment-communicating.asp. But perhaps we could say this of any of us. It's just that most of us don't have our finger on the button.

Do we really want him around any negotiating table in the future when he has so little ability to civilly explain how and why he chose the person who could replace him as president in this very dangerous world? Even if he believes we have been uncivil, he might've taken this as an opportunity to lead us to our better selves rather than folding his arms and giving us the silent treatment.

I'm not even saying Palin's not qualified. But he's her PR rep, and his temper tantrum kept him from doing his job. Corporations retire reps who, in acts of self-righteous aggression like this, cost them that much exposure.

what concerns me is, 3 of the 4 candidates are in congress. Congress has an approval rating of 9%.

Palin has a Governor approval rating of 90%. yep, ten, (10) times the approval of the other three.

The study shows that most people think the president is the Congress. *I know folks not a testament to our educational system, but that is the truth. Most average citizens think they are talking about the President when they are asked about the Congress.

I wonder if O'rielly is going to be that rude to Obama tomorrow night?

Why are we so scared of Palin? She is a nobody. It makes us look stupid to personnaly attack her.

Have some class people.

We? scared? We're just having fun after knowing whom McCain picked to be his running mate. Where did you get that idea of being scared? Fox news? Ah I see.

There are two different Americans, the ones who always use fear to bully others, and the ones who gives hope to others. This time only, McCain really gives us hope ... to the dems and million others.

Thank you Campbell Brown! These are the same questions I would ask given the chance. Thank you for getting to the real issues.

I'm still waiting to hear from someone who can explain to me Obama's foreign policy experience. How can the man handle the job as president when he can't even do his job as Senator, the position for which he was hired?

Are you saying that Palin is just as inexperienced as Obama, or that experience doesn't matter in any case?

He actually sits on the US Senate Foreign Relations comittee. He has traveled extensively on behalf of the US way before that trip you just saw to Iraq. The media played it like he had never been there. A big lie.

I live in Chicago and since he is our Senator they will follow him around on his fact finding trips, and diplomatic tours etc. We have seen on local TV an entire week week series on Obama in Iraq vitsiting the green zone, meeting with the troops, having meetings with the generals etc.

It is too bad that we cannot help that MSM controls the msg. I even heard a very respectedl blogger here say the same thing in one of his pieces yesterday "Obama's first trip overseas". That is simply not the truth.

He has crafted legislation on foreign policy. Here are just 3 from he crafted that are now law
* Lugar-Obama Nonproliferation Legislation
* Coburn-Obama Transparency Act
* Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security and Democracy Promotion Act

There is much more but you see how this is hard to fit in a short concise narrative without people nodding out.

so... don't remember any of the GOPers coming to obama's aid when FOX and the rest were vetting the hell out of him.

so - the GOP's getting a taste of it's own medicine. delightful.

said it before and i'll say it again . . . we're in a time of instant karma. finally.

Which is it, the media are biased because she's merely a woman or the media is being unfair by doing the vetting that the campaign had three whole months to accomplish, but neglected to do?

John McCain is 72 years old and has had four bouts of cancer. There is a very real possibility that if he is elected president, Sarah Palin will become president some time in the next four years. Sarah Palin is unfit to govern America in a time of war, and John McCain's recklessness in picking Sarah Palin won't be glossed over by the Republican party's sudden discovery that women suffer prejudice.

...I simply can't accept that the women of America will acknowledge the bone that Mr. McSame threw them.

I have a stump in my front yard, and that stump is better prepared to lead this country than Sarah Palin!

John McSame is putting the welfare, security and safety of the good 'ole USA in jeopardy with this choice.

John McCain as a solider swore to protect this country and with this decision and choice he is letting the country down. And any one that tags along, is equally guilty!

Hitler destroyed Germany, but the German people were guilty by association because they did not step up and be heard!

She is an incompetent boob. That is the media's fault? She has no experience. That is the media's fault? She is a pusher of abstinence and her unmarried 17 year daughter is pregnant and that is the media's fault. Give me a break! She is one scary woman! to put her daughter's welfare in jeopardy for her own personal ambition. Now that is disgusting!
