Broadcasting & Cable:

According to CNN, Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) pulled out of a scheduled interview with the network after a segment with Campbell Brown and a top McCain spokesman Monday night in which Brown asked for examples of a foreign-policy decision made by Republican vice president pick Sarah Palin.

McCain was scheduled to appear on Larry King Live, but CNN's Wolf Blitzer said Tuesday that the campaign told the news network they thought Brown's interview with spokesman Tucker Bounds was "over the line."

McCain can't handle this single issue - of vetting a Vice President - and he wants to run the United States.

Obama had Caroline Kennedy who took the role seriously and did a wonderful job in picking the VP.

Kudos to her team and to OBAMA.

Is have a simple suggestion for CNN - STOP RUNNING McCAIN's "ADS" DURING THE NEWS - at least until he agrees to appear. Hopefully he won't agree, and we will all be spared the free exposure given to the Republican attack machine.

These guys think they can win by dodging the tough questions and trying to play "now you see me now you don't"? It never fails to amaze me, the hypocrisy of Republicans. If Palin has the goods, what are you afraid of?
See, they were planning on sliming the Dems for sexism once they attacked her, but the MSM, usually in the GOP's back pocket, are doing the questioning and keeping the story alive... to their dismay.

McCain's camp is losing altitude, I don't care what a baby-boomer poll says.

Campbell Brown was a pussycat to him. What a joke. It is blame the messenger. Blame the media and play sexist card.

Oh yea, that was a real coup. A second rate reporter on a channel with no audience interviewing someone not running for office. Good job!

Well second rate or not, she got him to look stupid, he could'nt answer a straight question, another example of someone being paid for nothing.... He should not have gone on CNN unprepared..

So all you smart Democrats out there, what does Obama have for foreign policy experience? I know this is a tough question as it has substance, but please try.

Joe Biden!

What does McSame have? What did Chief Chicken Hawk have?

Whether you think O is qualified or not; you should be able to point out how much more qualified she is rather than, "well, he's not either!"

Sounds like a 3 year old retort to me.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:24 PM on 09/03/2008

Yes, your retort does sound like that. I asked a question. SO, you're saying that Obama's foreign policy experience IS Joe Biden. Wow, that's deep. McCain didn't have that problem, did he? The problem for you is that Obama is not running vs. Palin. Governors have more experience running anything than Senators do, PERIOD.

Chief Chicken Hawk? Why are you bringing John Kerry into this?

His education at Columbia was in Foriegn policy. Has written papers on US Soviet relations.

Thats more than MCain has done.

Co authored with R(Sen Luggar) a nuclear non proliferation Bill.. to try to get former soviet nukes back under control as Clinton was doing..

Has had the correct position on the Iraqi war ( considered one of the greatest foreign policy blunders of US history, price tad 3 trillion), Did not tell Americans as McCain did that it would not last long or cost much... or that they had ties to Al Qeada..or were involved in 911. contrary to his not enough troops he supported the plan... supported Rumsfeld until late 2005!

OBAMA Was right about us losing in Afganistan and needing more troops there. Right about the time line in Iraq.

And by the way, he gets 6 times the contributions from soldiers in Iraq than McCain. McCain has has a low rating from VET groups.

56% of our militray in polls in the Military Times say Iraq was a mistake.

Here you go ..WE (dems) voted for Obama ina primary, he won, so WE decided that he had what was needed .
On the other hand Palin was not voted by any party. MAybe you can understand it this way.....
McCains 1st act was to appoint a person who has for 22 months governed a Sate with the population of El Paso Texas. And made her the second most powerful person in the free world.
So if anything should happen to McCain WE ALL of US are stuck with this choice of his as president for god knows how long. PLEASE don't tell us that YOU or any other rational pereson thinks this was a good choice.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:32 PM on 09/03/2008

"We decided that he had what was needed" You dems also thought McGovern,Mondale, Carter, and Kerry had what was needed!

"...Palin was not voted by any party" NO, we don't vote for VP's in America, OK? 22 months governing a state is 22 months longer than Obama has governed anything. She's in the VP seat, Obama's wanting to be in the #1 spot.

As far as Palin being in charge if McCain were to die, what are you going to do if Biden drops dead? That would put a neophyte in the Whitehouse without any experience or anyone to tell him how to do his job!

The objective was NOT to make a good VP choice. It was simply to "energize the conservative base"--regardless as to how ridiculous a choice it was.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:43 PM on 09/03/2008

Have you thought about what we all do if something happens to Biden? Obama in the Whitehouse without someone around to tell him how to do his job?

Oh yea, I almost forgot. You're correct. Palin was not voted by any party. We don't vote for VP's in the USA. The parties nominee does that. OK?

It's not just Tucker Bounds; NOBODY knows this lady or her record. No one has any answers because they don't even know her.

All these surrogates McCain is sending out are contorting themselves trying to say something nice about her, but they don't even know. Sam Brownback this morning admitted that HE'S NEVER MET HER!! I think that's also true of all these people. Fred Thompson who last night in his speech called her a 'breath of fresh air' doesn't even know because he's never even talked to her. That's what so absurd about this whole circus.

The left has sure gotten their panties in a wad over Palin. A person they contend is a joke and a circus. If you believe she's such a joke and not a serious threat to your socialist agenda, then you should be very happy.

No, our panties are not in a wad, we just want to know what the F--K your party was thinking, she wasn't vetted but for a day, now the media and everyone is vetting her, everyday a new issue regarding her ability comes up. You guys spin it like no tomorrow. I'll ask again what are her positive qualifications? Actually mr crackhead we're giddy with your party's inability to do much more then spin wildly and surround SP and rah, rah her. Let her talk and take questions, NOW.

The questions weren't hard or difficult. Look at the posted comments and see the difference between Obama's involvement in foreign affairs and Palin's. But more than anything else, Obama has consistently and intelligently suggested policies that were well analyzed and turned out to be the correct ones.

No I am not happy. It is an insult that this woman should be anywhere near the VP slot. There were more qualified women then Palin to be VP. McCain treated it like some kind of joke. That any woman would do.

This woman has too many skeletons in her closet, and now that they are coming out McCains camp is trying to turn her into the victim.

For once the media is doing their job, getting the story. Not only that they are doing the job McCain should have done himself. They are vetting her. This is what you do, esp to an unknown candidate. The media did this to Obama in the primaries. Not our fault that she just cant add up to Biden, and McCain stands in Obamas shadow.

The more I think about it, the Mainstream Media should give McCain what he wants...leave him alone. No coverage at all. He wanted to be left alone do it, but don't say a thing about him until he's ready to be treated with the aggression that they've pursued Obama.

Hiding from the Media .... those were easy questions yet this Tucker character fell apart like a cheap suitcase. It was funny yet scary at the same time.

I was a Republican for many years but left when the NeoCons gutted it.

At our office meeting yesterday, even the hard core GOPers were laughing at what has become of the Republicans and the Palin choice. First time I have seen all the folks here on the same wavelength regarding politics. Many Reps expressed that they are sure Palin will be dropped soon anyway and this was just a bad mistake.

Pay attenion the Republicans are doing it again. They are all on message and because they all say the media is out to get them, soon the media will be out to get them.

The Democratic Party needs to get the message out in one unified voice that John McCain is an ill-tempered SOB. People need to know that this dude has a hair trigger when provoked. Don't let the Republican party dominate this debate, make the debate about John McCain and his temperment. He is showing his belly here and Democrats need to maul him for it.

and the GOP needs to get the word out that Obama hangs out with admitted terrorists that have bombed the US government, been in a hate filled church for 20 years, and he's never done a thing remotely related to making a decision that effected peoples lives. Obama running the US. Too funny! Can you see him standing eyeball to eyeball with Putin and trying to get him to leave the next country Russia invades by using "deplomacy?

I watched the Campbell Brown - Ted Bounds interview as it aired. I was stunned that FINALLY some real journalism was taking place. So many interviews are just mush and placating to the interviewees. Campbell was askinpersistent legitimate questions of Ted Bounds, who obviously came unprepared and got flustered when put on the spot. Campbell's questioning of Palin's foreign policy experience were questions that I wanted answered also. I congratulate Campbell Brown and CNN for not capitulating or backing down from a thorough interview. I've watched Ted Bounds dish out attacks plenty of times. Seems that when the tables are turned, he wimps out. And now the McCain campaign is playing with wimp out card also.

I think Campbell was personally miffed at the lack of qualifications Palin has coming into the job. No doubt most women have to fight to get to the top of their field, and possibly there's some blowback because of Palin's perceived "skipping to the front of the line".

Campbell just twisted the knife a little.

What cracks me up is the truly qualified GOP women are silent . Had to speak when you're eating crow.
