Broadcasting & Cable:

According to CNN, Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) pulled out of a scheduled interview with the network after a segment with Campbell Brown and a top McCain spokesman Monday night in which Brown asked for examples of a foreign-policy decision made by Republican vice president pick Sarah Palin.

McCain was scheduled to appear on Larry King Live, but CNN's Wolf Blitzer said Tuesday that the campaign told the news network they thought Brown's interview with spokesman Tucker Bounds was "over the line."

You are all so hypocritical....Democrats are the ones always dodging and not answering the question. By the way, what is Obama's foreign policy experience? That's right, ZERO! What a joke. You should try to be honest with yourselves for once. You might be able to sleep at night.

Yup, us hypocritical people always dodge and weave, we're like Ali waiting to punch your lights out. I think your team is being run by the 3 Stooge's, they are funny but lack so much on substance.

Let's be fair now. Obama does have foreign policy experience. His father and brother live in Africa and he diplomatically asked them to stay there out of site until after the election!

His degree is from Columbia is in Foreign Policy. He has written papers on foriegn relations. He has authored a Nuclear arms control bill thats been passed.. Something McCain has not done.

He has had a passport for more than 12 months. He has been outside the U.S. more than once. He has given some thought to the Iraq war. And by the way Palin has barely traveled in the U.S.

Lets play a game:

Obama is wise enough to have selected a VP whose forte is foreign policy! McCain has no real foreign policy experience except that of a totally FAILED one and he stupidly selects a VP with 20 months as the governor of tiny town holding a spanking new passport for her "first" trip abroad last year!!??

Get a grip!

Actually, CNN must be sweating bullets. Fox vastly outstrips them in audience share.

This could kill them. They might end up being the network for the 20's something, who hardly bother to watch TV.

I saw the interview. His spokesman, Tucker, clearly didn't know the answer. Unprepared... unprofessional...
How could he even go on the air, not expecting that type of question. It's what everyone is talking about!
If this is the type of person McCain surrounds himself with, how could anyone consider voting for him?

The answer to your question is easy: they never expect tough questions because, up to now, the media has had them off the hook - which is another way of saying they haven't been doing their job. Take Bush's meetings with the press, for example; carefully selected jounalists asking previously approved and rehearsed pointless questions, and an audience of carefully picked citizens with blinkers.

But I suppose the whole Palin debacle has been so glaringly mishandled that even the otherwise tamed media felt like asking some REAL questions. Also, it might also be that, just like GOP itself, their supporters in MSM are also divided and some would like McCain to fall - and fast.

The ONLY question I'd have for the Republicans would be:

Do you really think we're all THAT stupid?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:40 PM on 09/03/2008

Not stupid, at least not all of you, just grossly misinformed & unable to think without the help of CNN, MSNBC, etc etc etc

Nope, we are informed, and please most don't get their info from TV, it hurts to read trolls comments because we see the lack of vetting of any issue, subject or VP.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:02 PM on 09/03/2008

The GOP idea of well informed:

1. Saddam had WMD which were going to cause a mushroom cloud over an American city at any time.

2. The Iraq war would be over in a few days, since Iraqis would greet American troops with flowers.

3. Brownie did a "great jog" in New Orleans.

4. There were not political reasons for firings in the Justice Department.

5. The mortgage meltdown and lack of economic growth do not foreshadow a recession.

What a cry baby! Is this the kind of leadership we need in The White House?

If he can't handle an interview with a reporter from CNN,how can he handle Nuclear negotiations with North Korea?

How will he handle peace talks with the Palestinians?

How will he handle Hugo Chavez?

How will he deal with Iran? I don't think he has the MENTAL capability to handle even of these situations or deal with any of these situation without losing his TEMPER!!!!

We need a LEADER! Not a CRY BABY! Not a BUSH FOLLOWER! NOT ANOTHER CRONY!

WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER REPUBLICAN!

What a wimp! I saw the Campbell Brown interview as it first aired. My wife and I were laughing because as usual, the spokesman was babbling on and on but completely ignoring the question. Campbell simply kept asking hin to respond to a perfectly legitimate question! I am losing respect for McCain because of this and his VP choice.

This is all getting a little surreal:

1) Whether she's brilliant or not, the fact is that Palin has been nominated to arguably the second most important and powerful position of responsibility in the world. Aren't the media entitled to examine her credentials?

2) Its extremely clear that she has zero (absolutely zero) foreign experience of any kind, whether via her job or through her family. She received her first passport in July 2007 for goodness sake. At a time when America's global status has fallen dramatically, not only does her candidacy look completely ridiculous, but it sends another insulting message to the whole world who are watching this election closely.

3) Given the way that the McCain/Palin campaign tried to conceal her daughters pregnancy when this farce started by having the same daughter carry Palin's newborn daughter on the stage, I think the media is 100% correct to dig deeper and I hope they will continue to dig deeper.

4) As for all the other stuff, this isn't happening because shes a woman, its happening because of the track record of corruption in politics in Alaska, because shes been running a state with a population smaller than the Bronx in New City, and because she is supposed to be championing the idea of family values and abstinence.

The fact that the great and the good of the GOP are all circling the wagons is even more disgraceful.

I know you guys on this site remove any dissenting opionions, but perhaps this one will not be deleted like the others have been. Regarding Obama going on O'Reilly. He's doing it for the same reason Hillery did. He's afraid he's not far enough ahead at this point and with Palin obviously a big scare for the left, he's taking a gamble. He will do poorly. Obama is an empty suit. Nothing to say if it's not practiced in advance. He has nothing new. More taxes, more government, more liberal ideas. Did you not see Obama fall flat at Saddleback? If you don't believe me watch this?
