ABC News:

Former officials of Sen. John McCain's 2000 campaign expressed shock and disbelief Monday to learn than the GOP presidential nominee had hired South Carolina political consultant Tucker Eskew.

Eskew, along with Warren Tompkins and Neal Rhodes, were key members of then-Gov. George W. Bush's South Carolina team during the 2000 primaries. McCain and his team long held Bush, Tompkins, Rhodes and Eskew responsible for the various smears against McCain and his family in the Palmetto state during that contentious contest.

Eskew was brought on board the McCain campaign, it was announced Monday, to help prepare Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for her role as McCain running mate. Eskew will help Palin prepare for her Wednesday night acceptance speech at the GOP convention and for her stump speech as she hits the road, brief her on policy matters, and help her handle the media scrutiny a lifetime in Alaska does not necessarily prepare one for.

This tactic will only expose further McCain as the mean and hateful old man he is. If I ever hear someone call McCain "honorable" or "a man of honor" I will vomit.

These are thugs will do anything to stay in power.
With a complicit media and the fragility of the Internet (ex. China), they may get what they want.
That cannot be allowed to happen. This is no longer America.

I honestly don't think McCain is running his own campaign. This is not the McCain from the past 20 years. He must have been bullied into these choices that he is making. If he is allowing the bullying, that is just as bad.

And that's just what will happen if McCain wins in November. Like Bush, others will run his administration. What a joke this Party continues to bestow on the "country they love".

I have this feeling John McCain wants to lose. The things that are happening in his campaign are almost unbelievable.

Okay, I think it is time for us ordinary folk to step aside here.

I certainly am not qualified to figure this crap out.

Are there any Anthropologists (PhDs) out there who could study the Republicans and maybe develop some theories about what the hell is wrong with them?

Replublicans are for business while Liberals are for the people.

Replublicans are on a long journey to convert the world to a market based existence. Not just the economy but everything in sight.

Their philosophy s called neoliberalism in the European sense of the word. Translate to the American neoconservative.

Electing McCane will finalize the journey the ending of which is that business will rule the world. With a profit driven existence, socail values will no longer be supported by the government. They will cease to exist and the charities will take over the responsibilities. Carry this philosophy out to its logical end, the terminal and elderly patients will be allowed to die because to continue to live would be a drain on profits. Google it.

In McCain's case, I'd say it's textbook Stockholm Syndrome.

I only have some college, I have the answer. They are stupid, arrogant airheads. And want to win at any costs. They weren't thinking about the future of America. I really can't tell you what they were thinking, I'm baffled.

As with so many stories of the past few weeks, this one has left me wondering if there is a limit to what the "Republican Faithful" would be willing to overlook in the people they WILL vote for.

With W's approval rating inexplicably hovering around 25%, recent polls still showing McCain as "competitive" in the General Election, and now Palin garnering significant support amongst Republican Voters in light of all the recent news, one has to wonder if the ENTIRE PARTY suffers from COPROPHAGIA!

They simply seem to "eat this Sh*t up"!

Mc-Desperate is just that -- DESPERATE!!!! To put a man on your team who disrespected your wife & daughter, is just that --- DESPERATE!!! Another example of McCain's feelings about women. And, he's just "pimping" Palin, for the female vote, & the shock effect. He'll do ANYTHING to win. Forget that "Honorable John McCain" B.S. I hope Barack never calls him that again!

This is getting nasty! John McCain has abandoned his integrity and sold his soul to Karl Rove.

And I think he has abandoned his adopted daughter. I saw the picture on People Magazine with the Palin family and Senator McCain with wife Cindy and the blonde daugher, but not the darker skinned girs. What's up with that.

Note to the Republican Party: YOU DON'T GET IT.

You can hire all the operatives you want, but you can't reinvent Sarah Palin. Her experience, her words, and her lifestyle are out there, in plain view of the public.

Since McCain didn't vet her, we're doing it for him. And the picture that's emerging is not pretty.

McCaine: "There is no depth to which I won't sink to get elected. I will forfeit my self-respect, my dignity, my "maverick" status, my very manhood (see Bush-McCaine hug) to become our next president. I will grovel before corporate America and the religious right and completely reverse myself on long held beliefs just for your vote."

I'm John McCaine and I apporved this message...sort of.
