McCain Manager Rick Davis: "This Election Is Not About Issues"

Rick Davis, campaign manager for John McCain's presidential bid, insisted that the presidential race will be decided more over personalities than issues during an interview with Post editors this morning.

"This election is not about issues," said Davis. "This election is about a composite view of what people take away from these candidates."

If they think the voters of this country agree that this election is about "personalities," they are going to be in the political wilderness for a very long time. And good riddance to them.

Of course the Republicans don't want this to be about issues, they loss on issues. What they were planning to run on was their time tested formula of lies and hate mongering. Forthunately McCain has basically removed a lot of their attacks against Obama by choosing Palin. Both experience and patriotism are now off the table.
