National Enquirer: We Triggered Palin Announcement, "Edwards Team" In Alaska

Radar reported last night that the National Enquirer, fresh off breaking the John Edwards scandal, was hot in pursuit of the Bristol Palin pregnancy story.

"I definitely think we triggered the announcement," Editor David Perel told Politico this morning.

Perel said that the Enquirer has three reporters -- from "the Edwards team" -- up in Alaska. He said reporters were putting out calls all weekend to members of Palin's family and those around her, as well as the family of the father, Levi Johnson. Perel said there was enough to go on for this week's print edition, even before Monday's statement.

It's a shame that it's become a circus. But, again, anyone with any common sense, with clear judgment, understands how the national media is. Doesn't John McCain? A little work would have gone a long way to avoiding this mess you've created, John. Ignore the family drama regarding the Palins: her actions as an elected official in Alaska are sufficient to give any TRUE undecided voter pause.

What the Enquirer has going for it that a lot of the other media does not, is that they are willing to dig and investigate. All news lately is rehashed from one source. Reporters don't want to get their boots dirty anymore.

Well Ms Diva, isn't it sad that The National Enquirer gets closer to the truth than any major corporate news group?.....I am a WW2 junkie -so I have most of the footage that was shared with the public in the 40's at movie houses....Franklin Delano Roosevelt made sure we showed the war to our people -the bodies, men fighting and dying, women doing all of the manufacturing and, becoming pilots- the whole thing -with only stacks of helmets -of the dead, personal affects, and the most goring and gut wrenching scenes omitted.

Iraq: where are the corpses? our 4,000 and counting or, the Iraqi 900,000 give or take a 100,000......where is the war or, where was it ever on our news? Not counting the very santized propaganda machine of the first few weeks of inbed reporting......

I remember watching I believe CNN pull up at some two bit chicken farm with a 50 gallon drum of pesticide claiming that WMD had been found.....I dont think The National Enquirer would ever be so unprofessional as to make such a specious claim. Sad indeed.

I actually trust the Enquirer to exercise their expertise at venality and get to the truth of this story -and I think we do need to know -Enquiring Minds or not.
