Enquirer Palin

Politico:

Radar reported last night that the National Enquirer, fresh off breaking the John Edwards scandal, was hot in pursuit of the Bristol Palin pregnancy story.

"I definitely think we triggered the announcement," Editor David Perel told Politico this morning.

Perel said that the Enquirer has three reporters -- from "the Edwards team" -- up in Alaska. He said reporters were putting out calls all weekend to members of Palin's family and those around her, as well as the family of the father, Levi Johnson. Perel said there was enough to go on for this week's print edition, even before Monday's statement.

People can TRY to say the "Trig is Bristol's" story is silly, but (1)his name isn't in Mat-Su's births list, (2) Bristol was out of school for, at least, 5 months, (3) The McCain campaign could come forward with a birth certificate to "prove", well, something one way or the other (4) They could come forward with ANY nurses to back their claims (5) They could show Bristol's "mono" health records (5) They could show Sarah's pregnancy records.
4 and 5 are more intrusive but #1 and 3 should be easy if they had such proof.

That they aren't coming forward with the easy proof can be proof in itself that they have no such verification proof of Trig being Sarah's. Which leaves ALL the lying Sarah has been doing, for political gain, about how "noble" she was and all the "middle of the night breastfeeding" stories.

No Bristol CAN"T be Trig's mom....cause the repubs and Karl Rove put out a statement that said Bristol is NOW 5 months pregnant so it MUST be true.

I mean when have the the Repubs ever lied and covered anything up to the American people?

I LOVE the fact that the ENQUIRER now has more credibility than CNN.

A FORMER CNN Fan.

Finally a republican politician the Enquirer isn't afraid to sink their teeth into. I love it.

Oddly, I'm comforted by their capitalism. I don't think political bias will ever get in the way of sales.

And our legal system means they have to at least hover near the facts - they learned that the hard way.

The National Enquirer is right, why should a bunch of bloggers take credit for pressuring the veep candidate to spill the beans on her daughter - I think this is the work of the National Enquirer - reminds me of John Edwards... no I didn't, oh, ummm... yes, I did.

Thank you National Inquirer. Why won't main stream media do real reporting this year?? They got lazy and have just been reporting talking points memos as news. Way to get upstaged by a one-time news rag.

Never thought I could say thanks to the National Enquirer! But we deserve to know the character of the woman who would possibly become President, given John McCain's health issues. From what I've seen, if she were in my neighborhood I wouldn't even have her join me for coffee. I can't imagine giving her rule over my daughter's body!

Dang, it's sad when the National Enquirer has to do the investigative reporting mainstream corporate owned media refuses to do. This is the year they became legit.

Thank God!!! Now we will get the truth. I have a feeling there is more dirt then babygate and troopergate. Sarah Palin appears to be a little shady-- What woman would put her pregnant teen through this for political gain? Yes, I believe children are off limits but her own mother allowed this to happen. Go National Enquirer!!!

come on....Edwards put the democratic party at risk with what he did. Good grief. What if he had got the nomination or been Obama's VP pick. What the heck would be going on now?

Go Enquirer!

It's about time, Enquirer. Make tracks! Leave poor John Edwards alone. He's not running for office anymore. If you can dig up some real facts on Palin, I will consider you legitimate and finally buy a copy.

They also caused a great man a position if Obama wins the election. As far as i'm concerned they stopped a great man from govering in the future.

Hard to disagree, but JE was hardly a 'great' man.

I'm sorry, but I disagree - I mean the part about JE not being a great man. OK, maybe he's not a great husband and father, so yes, that part of the definition of being a man. But he is STILL the only one who talks about the great divide in this country and his health care plan is the one the dems adopted at the end of the day. Watch Bill Maher for a better analysis - but the reality is to have lost his voice in the Dem party is a travesty and frankly, stupid. I mean, the only president who HASN'T had an affair is Bush (the idiot son) and look where that got us.

He wasnt that 'great' when he got into this election with this entire scandal waiting to break. Just imagine how f**ked Dems would be had Edwards won the nomination!!

I totally agree.

Edwards deserved what he got and Elizabeth (as much as I pesonally like her) was complicit in deceieving his supporters.

I wouldn't vote for Palin if she were running for Silly city dog catcher. What a dumb choice for McCain to make!
