Barack Obama

New York Times:

Before Senator John McCain delivers his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention on Thursday, Senator Barack Obama will make a marquee appearance of his own.

Call it counter-intuitive. He will appear on "The O'Reilly Factor" on Fox News Channel.

I know why Sen. Obama is going to be on O'really ...

Do you guys remember how he put the FEAR in McSame during his acceptance speech to make him make a rash veep pick in Palin ... ?

Well that is exactly what he is going to do on Thursday ...

Since that will be McSame's acceptance speech day, Sen. Obama is planning on introducing that fiery debating tactic he has kept a secret for so long, by using it against O'really, that it will throw off McSame coming out of the convention and will immediately lead McSame to drop out of the race ...

Don't be surprised, when Obama makes a big announcement.
Two or Three members of his future cabinet team.

Chuck Hagel - Secretary of Defence
Wesley Clarke - Homeland Security
Hillary Clinton - Attorney General

It won't be the first time a Presidential candiate has named a future cabinet.

If he did this with Bill O it would shut up so many of his critics just on gut's alone. Even these idiots would have to acknowledge the brilliance of this gambit in canceling out anything McWheresMyTeeth would say. This is the mind I want dealing with world leaders!!!

I hate the thought of O giving this jerk the time of day...but I agree with those who say that all Fixed Noise viewers know of him is what these...people tell them. O is probably making a smart move by exposing himself to B illo the Terrible..

I wouldn't give the bum the ratings. I for one won't be watching or help give Fox News ad revenue.

I hope it is NOT during McSame's acceptance speech because that will actually provide false ratings for McSame ...

For those who think that Obama shouldn't do this, I have to disagree. Yes, it's going into the lion's den, but at least it's not Hannity (which is more like the Devil's lair) and he NEEDS to go on shows that are viewed by those who don't support him. Most won't, but some people who watch O'Reilly may be picked up. And, the one thing I will give O'Reilly is at least he makes some effort to listen to guests objectively, particularly in comparison to other Fox folks! It also takes away folks trying to claim he won't do interviews with people who aren't "in the tank" for him!

There are strangely enough a lot of people that are Democrats that watch Fox. My mother being one of them (even though I tell her she's nuts!). Also at my old job (a casino) they had Fox on 24/7 on one of the break room TV's, a second on CNN, these two were unchangeable by non-management, but we did have a third we had a remote for that we could change. So quite a few do actually watch Fox that would support Obama, and he needs to go after them and fight against their bias.

People please, Bill O'Reilly is NOT Tim Russert. His ego will probably convince him that he's some sort of real journalist, but he's still just an entertainment reporter. Obama will be fine. This is just part of the political game he has to play.

This is worse than a mega-church appearance. What is the upside to appearing on Fox? I wish that Dems would quit this habit.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:16 AM on 09/03/2008

The upside is that he gets to talk to people who really doesn't know what kind of person he is because they don't watch any channel he comes on. They are brainwashed, but they will tune in because the they bill-o is going to make him squirm. But what they will see instead is a level headed bright guy who should be POTUS. It will be a wake up call for some of Bill-o viewers.

Brilliant move by a brilliant man. I'm a little nervous because I know how conniving Oreilly can be, but hopefully Barack can stem the blow by being his usual disciplined, respectful and intelligent self. I don't think Oreilly will take the chance of alienating our next POTUS.....besides, Barack may be his biggest ratings getter.

Boohoo, McYupYup couldn't even handle a softy like Larry King, but O shows courage by going on a network that has built it's reputation the past year on ruining O's candidacy.

Rupert: "Could we trade my 71 year-olds for some of your 18-35 year-olds?"

Obama: "Yes, we can... Rupert. Yes, we can."

Excuse me "Mr." Jeff. Wouldn't that be "Senator" Obama? Get a life and some journalistic credentials. It's no wonder the NY times is going down the toilet..

Just make sure you don't block the shot, Obama. I'm trusting you, but this doesn't feel right.

Bill O’Reilly is not a "real show". I admire Senator Obama for having the courage to go on his show and hopefully have an intelligent discussion. I do not watch the O’Reilly factor, but the segments I have seen elsewhere indicate that Mr. O’Reilly to interrupt and intimidate the people that go on his show. This is not conducive to a real discussion. Obama is intelligent and hopefully Bill will be civil, should be interesting.

I think I'll have to watch this one. I think Bill will be civil but snide.... in facy, i'm retty sure he will. Everything will be a 7 - 10 split. Probably his writers have worked out a slew of loaded question. Not the really obvious and amateurish have-you-stopped-beating-your-wife variety. Subtle traps like when my wife says, "Does this dress make my butt look bigger?"
