In a Washington Post interview, Karl Rove admits that the Sarah Palin pick was "not a governing decision but a campaign decision." Of course, he says Joe Biden was too.

They (Democrats) over played this from the first moment. When they put out that statement bashing her. This is everyone. This is mom, the successful small business operator, union member, outdoors woman, coach, mom of five, active in her community and takes on the big boys and becomes Governor. And they run a real risk of looking condescending, just as they did, the same crowd played these cards against Hillary Clinton, and it was a mistake.

...

This is a positive thing for McCain. It's a bold move, but it's also a smart political move. Now, it's a different kind of decision. ... Both candidates this year, ironically enough made not a governing decision but a campaign decision.

Watch the whole interview:

The contrast between the two campaigns is so stark, it is almost comical. The Dems look organized, impassioned, united, and strong. The Repubs look in disarray, scared, and kinda crazy. Everyone's got to asking the question, who do you trust to run the country? At this point, all honest observers have to be looking at Obama in a more favorable light than ever.

Karl Rove is a traitor in contempt of Congress. That he leads RNC and McCain around by the nose, as he did George W Bush is an indication of the fascist nature of the Republican fools who are damaging many aspects of this great country. The "architect" needs to draw up plans for a jail cell.

KARL ROVE - YOU WILL NOT BRING OBAMA/BIDEN '08 DOWN

"Pay no attention, to the man behind the curtain..!"

Apparently the Republicans do not want to be judged on their performance, or past record...

Rove is a tool - Palin was 100% a campaign decision, while Biden was a combination of campaign and governance.

What must be killing Rove is that independents and fiscal conservatives see what a pandering choice palin is and are backing away from mccain in droves.

I have no doubt that if mccain chose someone better he might have done slightly better in the polls, but there's no one candidate that would shore up all of the republicans.

When the republicans lose in November, what will he say?

Could this lying, poor excuse for a human be any more full of it? He's got time to talk to these reporters but he doesn't have time to talk to congress? I sure hope they throw him behind bars in time for the election. If for nothing else, just to shut him up.

Yup, yup, frog marched in cuffs in an orange jumpsuit with his little fat piggie face clashing nicely.

How is picking Joe Biden not a "governing decision"? The guy could take over as President tomorrow if necessary. Sarah Palin won't be ready for decades. If ever.

He also said that O,bama's speech was not "worthy" of the venue. Meaning he is a lying sack of republican.

This man is out to lunch. Totally disconnected from the problems of working people across the country. The last thing we need is someone like the Alaskan lady who is totally unqualified with loads of family problems to take over the presidency if something should happen to the prez and we all know that if MC wins he has lots of health problems and is very old, so it is likely that she would take over and then what? God help us.

5 days.

It has just come out that the McCain campaign spent all of 5 days vetting Sarah Palin.

Exactly the kind of sober judgment we can expect to find before McCain drags us into yet another war with Iran.

I can't think of any better way to illustrate McCain's bad judgment and poor temperament.

Of course they were both campaign decisions. But Biden is both a campaign decision and a governing decision, as he both helps Obama by being strong in some areas where Obama polls weakly, but he also is a very experienced man who no doubt is completely prepared to take over as President at any time. To the contrary, Palin was merely a campaign decision, and seemingly a crap one at that.

McCain's first decision as potential president has proven that he cares more about the politics of getting elected than about governing responsibly. Hot button politics is more important than the truth to him. Another 8 years of obfuscation and irresponsibility. If that's what you want, vote McCain/Palin.

It's never been about "Issues" for the GOPERS, OMG if it were about issues, why they would not be able to speak about anything else except guns and abortion, oh yea that's all they talk about. OK then so for them it's only about POWER OIL MONEY POWER OIL MONEY, for the sane Americans, it's about putting food on the table, having a job, filling the gas tank, being able to go to the doctor, trying to keep their homes, educating their children, and not having to put Mom and Dad in a chicken coop to live when they retire. Let's see which is more important?
