In a Washington Post interview, Karl Rove admits that the Sarah Palin pick was "not a governing decision but a campaign decision." Of course, he says Joe Biden was too.

They (Democrats) over played this from the first moment. When they put out that statement bashing her. This is everyone. This is mom, the successful small business operator, union member, outdoors woman, coach, mom of five, active in her community and takes on the big boys and becomes Governor. And they run a real risk of looking condescending, just as they did, the same crowd played these cards against Hillary Clinton, and it was a mistake.

...

This is a positive thing for McCain. It's a bold move, but it's also a smart political move. Now, it's a different kind of decision. ... Both candidates this year, ironically enough made not a governing decision but a campaign decision.

Watch the whole interview:

And AIP's Lynette Clark still insists that the governor was a member. "This is like a cat covering up crap in its litter box," she said.

Funny how this quote from the aticle about Palin's membership in the Alaska Independence Party is fitting for an article on Karl Rove!

They're searching for the paperwork to prove it. They've already found her husband's membership.

She gets the votes of Putin and Bin Laden! Probably that of Hugo Chavez as well.

Rove is clearly running around trying to buttress McCain's candidacy, in order to avoid going down in history as a major drag in McCain's electoral defeat (should McCain lose this election). Bush and his advisers have never cared for McCain (private comments to the press confirm this uneasy relationship). However, they are keenly aware of the unforgiving judgment of history. Someone as well read in history (he's apparently an amateur Napoleonic history buff) as Rove, knows that if McCain falls by the wayside, history will judge that the Bush administration's unpopularity was largely responsible for his downfall. Rove has already lost his job at the WH. He doesn't want to lose his place in American history.

McSame's VP pick fell short! Americans are in a huge crisis! McSame blew his first decision! He did not vet his VP Pick. She is unqualified. Male or Female. Her executive experience is being supremely overinflated. She has No Foreign Policy Experience. She has No National Security Experience. No, she is not a 'reformer'. It is on record that she was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it. She took 27 Million in 'pork' for a town population of 6,700. Americans should be outraged! The bridge in Minnesota that collasped could have used that Federal money for maintenance. McCain is 72 years old. Stop with the political gimmicks! Enough! No way, No How, No McCain!

Excellent, EXCELLENT post !... With McCain's VP pick, the McCain/Palin ticket would be too risky to have in the White House, I mean scary RISKY...IMO

Karl Rove is a radical extremist.
He has done more to undermine the constitution in the past eight years than anyone else.
Remember, it was Karl Rove who blistered McCain in 2000 with lies and distortions.
Yet John McCain is now using Karl Rove cult members to head his campaign.
When you lie down with dogs, you have to expect fleas.

Why should anyone care what Karl Rove thinks? This is a man who belongs in jail. Indeed Biden was a political pick but the difference between Biden and Palin are night and day. Biden is perfectly qualified to be president with more than 30 years of leadership experience. And yes, Palin is everyone... and would Rove have us believe that everyone is qualified to be president? If Sarah Palin is qualified then just about anyone reading this post is qualified and that's a scary thought. George Bush came out of the West Texas with virtually no federal government experience and no successful leadership experience and Rove, a man bereft of any morality and honesty, sold him as the second coming. Bush isn't qualified to referee a game of jacks and if Palin is qualified for the VP as Rove suggests then we're all in a lot of trouble.

My general impression is that Karl Rove doesn't like confident, assertive women. I suspect that some part of Karl's discomfort with Sarah Palin is his conclusion that he will not be able to influence her. Experience tells me (and probably Karl) that if a woman is confident enough to live her life surrounded by jocks that she would avoid rather than be enthralled by a figgy, weasely man like you know who.

I believe that, if you remove the words confident and assertive from your first sentence, you summed up Rove.

We can't afford another Karl Rove administration. We do have issues, and the intelligent voters are concerned about them; we all should be. The country is in the worst shape it's been in for decades, and we can't afford another four years. Rove needs to be behind bars, not behind a podium. He introduced corruption into our system the likes of which we never thought we'd see in our country. I'm amazed that anyone will still listen to this little S.O.B.!

Just more talking points with absolutely no real challenge. He's clearly trying to advance the message that "Palin is a victim like Hillary Clinton!" with no substance backing it up. The criticisms of Palin aren't even remotely the same. Rove is on record saying that Palin would be a bad choice before the pick and now he's saying it's a wise political move. Why is this guy even ASKED these questions, his word is utterly meaningless.

The Republican motto:

Proving our toughness with your kids lives and limbs.

Karl Rove is a great american warrior, you wonder if he and the crew of great americans in the administration get sentimental when they drive by Arlington cemetary or visit the many VA hospitals full of OUR wounded kids.

Don't worry, they visit neither! Not in their agenda. Kinda like no picture taking or videos of the bodies of our fallen coming home in a casket. If you can't see it, then it isn't real.

Of course national polls should be taken with a grain of salt, BUT...

Today:

Gallup: (3-day rolling average)
McCain 42%
Obama 50%

Rasmussen:
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows Barack Obama attracting 48% of the vote while John McCain earns 43%. When "leaners" are included, it’s Obama 51%, McCain 45%. This is the highest level of support enjoyed by Obama at any point in Election 2008. (also 3-day rolling average)

Interesting to note that while Gallup is often tagged with a liberal-centrist slant, Rasmussen if often tagged with a conservative-centrist slant.

Obama as an unknown running against the Clinton might made sooo many mistakes that he won the primaries. Great logic once again from Karl Rove.

Obama won caucuses, primaries ONLY where Black dominated and then was coronated by affirmative action by the spineless "super delegates". Then? He nominated as VP the guy who thought Obama was not fit to be President!!!

Bless your heart.

Obama is the real deal. Ran a successful multimillion dollar campaign, engaging millions of Americans, and citzens around the world. Broke every campaign records to date.

Obama has united this country minus the racist, who Godcan't even unite.

God bless you.

Coronated by affirmative action? How many "Black" people were part of the 85,000 who watched him speak in Denver? There were more white women crying than black people watching. Troll.

Yeah, there was LOTS of blacks in Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Kansas, Washington, Oregon, etc, etc, etc, etc.

Keep buying into that myth of "the blacks are taking over!"

Obama won in the Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, and Utah primaries. Which of those states are dominated by people of color?

Fill in the blank: Harriet Meiers is to Sarah Palin as Sam Alito is to _____ ?

Somebody male, conservative, short, relatively young. Lindsey Graham?

Anything is possible at this point, almost, eh Karl?
