Obama Olbermann

Just days after he appears on "The O'Reilly Factor," Barack Obama will sit down with O'Reilly enemy Keith Olbermann on "Countdown." On Monday, September 8, Obama will help MSNBC kick off the homestretch of the political season by appearing on its marquee show. That same night, "The Rachel Maddow Show" will debut in the 9 p.m. hour.

Obama is set to appear on Fox News' "O'Reilly Factor" Thursday for the first time. Earlier this week, news broke of Obama's secret meeting with News Corp chief Rupert Murdoch and Fox News overlord Roger Ailes, a meeting in which they reportedly brokered a truce but during which Ailes made clear to Obama that Fox News would not be "in the tank" for him.

I love KO. He will ask relevant questions and talk about real issues that affect our country. O'Reilly questions will be to talk about Wright, Ayres, Rusta/how he acquired his home. It will be ground hog day. Nothing on issues. So to O"R, if this is going to be your interview, catering to the nothingless republicans that can only talk empytiness than I don't see the relevance of Obama's appearance. OR you don't hold a candle to KO. Rachael sticks to the issues and glad to see her onboard. She doesn't get caught up in ridiculous hype. Love her!!!

I don't expect Fox to be "in the tank" for Ob, but AT THE VERY LEAST stop the racist garbage and lies - for example the constant search to put a subtle "wink/nod" racist undertone to the discussion (ex: "the terrorist fist bump") and hosting that liar & acknowledged racist Jerome Corsi without any subtantial rebuttal

.

After O'Reilly kicks his ass in tonight......I don't think appearing on "Meltdown" is going to help with it's 30,000 viewers..................

Good MOVE! Actually-a VERY wise political move. Okay-so we KNOW that Fox and Murdoch aren't ever going to be 'in the tank' for Obama. Great! I just hope that the truce involved allowing Obama to FINISH a sentence befor O'Reilly attacks him AND/OR it's a more or less one sided replay of Saddleback. Obama rocked the house at Saddleback. McCain didn't, EVEN if he 'had all the questions' memorized or heard them somehow'. Obama put out HOW he'd CHANGE things-McCain didn't. Besides-hasn't anybody seen the 'love fest' that O'Reilly had going with Hillary when SHE was on? This is brilliant. And I'm sure that there will be enough 'pink' meat for the Matthews and Buchanans as well as the Hannity and Colmes of ALL the networks. As for Rachel Maddow-she's probably got a great shot at being in the White House press corps. She's smart-she's savvy and she WON'T BACK DOWN TO PAT BUCHANAN!

Ailes statement that Faux News would not be "in the tank" for Barack is misleading. Murdock was the one who kept bugging Barack until he agreed, out of politeness, to meet with him. That is when the agreement to appear on O'Reallystupid was made. Ailes' statement makes it appear that Barack was asking Faux News for a favor! Yeah right. Get serious!

Didn't know you were in the room when they met. What else did they say? How many times did Ailes drop the N bomb?

Obama is going on Fox/O'Reiley because he knows he'll get treated fairly. He wouldn't go on with Hannity because, honestly, he'd be treated the same way as MCain would by Olby - very rudely.

Fox can only be in the tank for one candidate at a time. They've made it clear that they will whatever they can to help McCain.

There are few Americans more responsible for the deterioration of the United States since the Richard Nixon years then Roger Ailes. He is truely an enemy of our beloved country. Rupert Murdock is one of the most neferious people to be granted U.S. citizenship. He came here only to add to his already grotesque fortune and actively work to undermine this great Democracy. When you talk of the Axis of Evil these two are at the forefront of the conspiracy to undermine our lives, liberty and our pursuit of happiness.

That Ailes found it necessary to embellish his account of the meeting by claiming that he got in Obama's face and told him "that Fox News would not be "in the tank" for him" is disgraceful and a bigger lie then his claim that FOX is "Fair and Balanced" or any such thing. An evil fat f**k.

Yeah, like that's ever going to happen. McCain can't remember what he said with out being reminded! And then there's the houses thing.

I'm looking forward to this as much as I'm looking forward to seeing how badly Obama's appearance on O'Reilly beats McCain's speech in the ratings.

I think Obama should appear on Rachel's show as well. She a lot smarter and would ask better questions. She would as finally get a chance to push him on why he voted for FISA. Hopefully she'll just give Keith all the questions to ask. If you ever listen to her show, it seems like she doing that know.

Olberman has had Countdown for a few years now and he seems to be doing fine without having to check with Rachel first . Obama has already explained his FISA vote, and said he understands,if you decide you can no longer support him.

He's already answered the FISA question, numerous times and in great detail. If you want even more detail, go to his website and check his position statement. Or are you really interested in knowing?

I hope he appears on Rachel's show. I would love to see her get good ratings. I agree, she should push him on that FISA vote.

This is why Obama will win, he is so much smarter than the fatefuI GOP.

McCaln disses the media and Obama steps in to get the coverage McCain spurns. O'Reilly AND MSNBC?

He's not afraid of the media like the "war hero' is.

Watch the polls, no bounce for McCain, just more gains for Obama!

It makes total sense that Obama is appearing on both shows, because they reach two completely different audiences. It's the home stretch and any smart candidate will be looking for as much free air time as possible. Most of us will be watching...
