Obama Olbermann

Just days after he appears on "The O'Reilly Factor," Barack Obama will sit down with O'Reilly enemy Keith Olbermann on "Countdown." On Monday, September 8, Obama will help MSNBC kick off the homestretch of the political season by appearing on its marquee show. That same night, "The Rachel Maddow Show" will debut in the 9 p.m. hour.

Obama is set to appear on Fox News' "O'Reilly Factor" Thursday for the first time. Earlier this week, news broke of Obama's secret meeting with News Corp chief Rupert Murdoch and Fox News overlord Roger Ailes, a meeting in which they reportedly brokered a truce but during which Ailes made clear to Obama that Fox News would not be "in the tank" for him.

Obama's embracing the media while McCain's straight talk express has left the tracks.

I read somewhere that softball is going to be an Olympic sport, too.

You appear to be as uninformed about sports as you are about politics. Softball has been an Olympic sport and was this year. The U.S. women won silver. It may not be an Olympic sport next time because the U.S. has been too dominant.

Bad choice. MOST if not ALL women who were turned off by his sexist handling on Clinton DON'T EVEN WATCH HIM OR CHRIS MATTHEWS ANY MORE.

Woman here. I love Olbermann. He's my MSM hero! He was the sole voice of reason after 9/11 and the run-up to the Iraq war, and he's never ONCE made sexist commentary regarding Clinton. Ever. O'Reilly and Matthews: yes, but Olbermann? NO way.

What women are you speaking of? I watch Keith Olberman every night......wish he was on weekends too.

Keith and Chris are my two favorite pundits - they are smart, incisive, and not afraid to go out on a limb. I don't always agree, but I always respect their opinions. And I don't think they are sexist at all!

Obama should appear on Countdown at least once a week until the election, especially on nights when McCain is "Worst Person in the World". And O has NO businesss getting anywhere near O'reilly and FAUX. Whose idea was that? Nothing good is going to happen there and no one who watches O'Reilly is going to vote for him anyway.

Ramirez - Obama will kick butt when he's on Bill'O's show - you worry too much.

He has to go on O's show, other wise the re-claim that if he can't handle O, how can he handle Putin?

Of course, now we can use the same tactic if Sarah and/or John won't go on MSNBC or CNN which John cancelled last night, because his shill couldn't answer a straight forward question by Campbell Brown, to wit: "name just ONE thing Palin did with the AK Nat Guard that claims she has Cmdr In Chief experience".

Obama will handle O'reilly.....He is much cooler and smarter.....Don't worry.
He will flash that grin and make a fool out of O'reilly.

Wrong. Keith is liberal and an Obama supporter, damn near surrogate at times. If he went there all the time he'd just be accused of not being able to handle the media. Soft interviews don't help anyone. Obama would also be wasting his time, preaching to the choir.

Bill O will be charmed by Obama. Obama doesn't crack under pressure.

Oh no, you're wrong. Smart move to go on O'Reilly. Very smart. Look, I despise Bill O'Reilly and all his lies, but Obama has gotta do this. He's gotta put himself in front of all those morons who think O'Reilly is a journalist. This is democracy in action. Like it or not, you have to talk to the morons at some point.

There's never, ever been a show that I have enjoyed so much, even my parents. When I visit we watch Countdown, cheer Keith on with glee and high five each other. My dad will even call to tell me, "Ooh, babe, Keith's having a special comment tonight! " We are all looking forward to Rachel's new show too. My dad loves her, he's a regular listener of Air America,

yea he's more fun to watch with a crowd.

My Dad, a devout Fox fan at one time, watched Keith with me a couple of times and absolutely loved his program. He is now voting for Obama and he and his very conservative wife (my step-mom) will now only watch MSNBC - wow!

Bill O is just looking for ratings like he always does. If he could have had puff daddy on to talk about some issue he would just because he thinks puff daddy could bring him viewers. Obama should have just continued to dismissed Fox as a home of republicans. I mean why can't Fox be like the rest of the media?

I think there still are some people who turn on fox and do their ironing or whatever and really don't notice all the partisan slant. A thinking person can hear it and dismiss it, especially if they notice it on both sides.

The world is watching

I saw where Roger Ailes said Fox News wouldnt be in the "tank"< exactly what does that mean???

Was Fox News in the "tank" for Bush Administration when never questioning Bush Administration on what lies were told to lead us in to war in Iraq?

Did Fox News ever question why the coffins of dead soldiers killed in this illegal war not shown??

Did Fox News always was saying good things were happening in Iraq>did Fox News ever send their reporters to the battle zone in search of all the good news "liberal media" wasnt showing>>

When everything started to fall apart in this economy even tainted foods>junk products from China>bank insolvencies< mortgage debacle> DID FOX NEWS EVER ASK TOUGH QUESTIONS OR QUESTION THE ADMINISTRATION >>>THEY DIDNT EVEN MENTION BUSH NAME

WHO IS IN THE TANK FOR WHOM??

If MSM are FINALLY ASKING THE QUESTION THEY SHOULD HAVE ASKED AT THE START OF BUSH ILLEGAL WAR WE WOULDNT BE WHERE WE ARE NOW>

MSM WIMPED OUT WHEN BUSH QUESTION THEIR PATRIOTISM TO ALLOW HIM TO RAPE THE COUNTRY OR OR OR OR THEY SAW A GOOD CHANCE TO FATTEN THEIR BALANCE SHEETS ON THE BLOOD SPILLED BY YOUNG SOLDIERS FOR A LIE

AILES MSM ARE JUST CORRECTING THE LIES>INNUENDOS> MISCHARCTERIZATION OF THE TRUTH YOUR NETWORK FEED THE PUBLIC UNDER THE GUISE OF NEWS

MSM IS FINALLY in the tank for the truth>>>you wouldnt know about that

The world is watching

Nice job! It'll be a good lead-in to Rachel's first show. Gripe: Did they really have to go with the most generic name humanly possible, though? And the same name as her radio show, at that? End gripe.

This will be Obamma's chance to seriously do damage to McCain. We already know Barack is fearless. He has nothing to hide, is honest, open, answers the tough questions, doesn't need cue cards to give a talk or a speech. The guy can talk off the top of his head with the same kind of intelligence, eloquence as Bill Clinton. He needs to stick to the issues, voice again how he plans to carry out his platform for all to benefit. Once he does that, makes it crystal clear what this means to the elderly, middle class, poor, our troops, ect, then he needs to seriously question Sarah's qualifications. He doesn't need to mention her daughter, only the lies and choices this woman made, her extreme stand against women, our civil rights, ect. The gloves have to come off. He can't play Mr. Nice guy if he plans to win. Keith can help him with this, as Olberman is not a fan of McCain. Barack, run with this one.

He was smart too. He waited until the repubs smears of sexism showed themselves for what they are; a tactic. If he had mis-spoken or said something that could be taken out of context before the cries of "sexism" and "evil media" started, he may have gotten caught up defending an innocent comment. But now that they've over used all their cry babying, he could pretty much say anything and their criticism will look like blatent spin.

Also, they can't hit him with low blows this week, since families are off limit, gender is off limits, past records, scandals, apparently even affairs with your husband's business partner are off limits this week.
