Obama Olbermann

Just days after he appears on "The O'Reilly Factor," Barack Obama will sit down with O'Reilly enemy Keith Olbermann on "Countdown." On Monday, September 8, Obama will help MSNBC kick off the homestretch of the political season by appearing on its marquee show. That same night, "The Rachel Maddow Show" will debut in the 9 p.m. hour.

Obama is set to appear on Fox News' "O'Reilly Factor" Thursday for the first time. Earlier this week, news broke of Obama's secret meeting with News Corp chief Rupert Murdoch and Fox News overlord Roger Ailes, a meeting in which they reportedly brokered a truce but during which Ailes made clear to Obama that Fox News would not be "in the tank" for him.

Keith Oberman has the best show on tv! I never miss an episode.

I hate Fox News and can hardly believe Senator O is going on the Oreily factor. O'reily is a snake in the grass and not to be trusted for a true interview.

RIght, Obama should just go on shows on MSNBC. Then he can have his butt kissed up and down, and never have to answer any difficult or uncomforable questions.

I hope KO doesn't faint while he is interviewing Obama the god.

Oh grow up already. Your "god" talk is nonsense and really makes you seem idiotic.

Hell Obama won't even get to answer any questions. Oliarly will just interrupt him and cut him off and get mad and throw sh*t. You know the drill.

I'm going to try to respond to you the way I'd respond to a serious person.

The only reason we warn anyone away from O'Reilly is that he's proven in the past that he will cut off people's microphones to keep them from being able to best him. He can't win arguments on merits, so he resorts to taking advantage of the fact that the technicians in his studio work for him and will obey him. No one is afraid of going toe to toe with the likes of O'Reilly. We are simply wary of allowing him control of the technologies supporting the medium. In a neutral environment in which the cameras and microphones were on and he could not have them turned off at whim, we'd be thrilled to have our candidates interviewed by him. In fact, the only way I'd be okay with Obama going on his show is if it was live and there were no commercial breaks. That'd be fabulous.

Would Mc Palin have the cojones to go on KO? Never mind the answer, I just remembered he cancelled Larry the King of fluff, because they were "mean" to baby Tucker.

That one still makes me laugh. I watched it live and I thought Tucker Bounds' head would explode. Campbell Brown really stepped up and gave him a whipping. Talk about entertainment.

If Bill-O keeps his mic on lol

And if Obama can stop stuttering when he's thinking of the right words to say.

I think the Fox interview will be the best one. "not being in the tank" will be exactly what O will be faced with should he be POTUS. O'Reilly isn't some wacko that throws out stupid comments with unsubstantiated rumors attached.

You know, like websites lol

Well if your name means anything you should get your news from other sources such as MSNBC to balance out all the Fox "News" stories you stay current on then watch more unbiased source such as the BBC to read real news stories not your other probable source...Inside Edition... seeing that your a Bill O fan!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:00 PM on 09/03/2008

I read, on a average day, 5-7 different news sources. I read far left, far right, and everything in between.

If I depended on this site for my only news I'd be very unbalanced. I see those unbalanced views many times on here.

Surely you jest.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:05 PM on 09/03/2008

Well the sentence that ended in "lol" was sort of a jest. "Tongue in cheek" jest.

The other part I was serious. He needs to be asked hard questions to see how he reacts. I don't see anything wrong with that quite frankly.

Speaking of being in the tank, I think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't believe FOX keeps Bill'O locked up in a rubber room until needed. Wacko is such a cruel, disgusting term that doesn't even come close to describe Bill'O’s own personal bent on reality. And facts! My god, Bill'O wouldn't know what to do with them! Just ask the Paris Business Review...

If you expect O'Reilly to ask anything but nasty inflamatory vile questions full of about a grain of sand of truth and credibility. It is the world according to O'Reilly. I agree that the candidates should be asked the hard questions, but they are not coming from O'Reilly. Brashness, Boasting and Bullying does not equate to "Hard" questioning.

Do you ever watch "The Soup"? Joel McHale ran this hysterical clip from KO when he was asking a reverend about Michelle Obama's "Brady Bunch" story and he went on so long, the reverend forgot the question. It was pretty funny.

LOL. I'm a fan of the show, but I think the run-on sentences are hilarious. I would hate to be asked one of those questions! I'd just go: "huh?"

I think it's pretty cool that Obama is going on O'Reilly. O'Reilly is such a buffoon. . .will be interesting to see how Obama handles that. But he has a pretty good self-possessed temperament.

Obama has no business going on FAUX news. Hopefully that is not a sign of desperation. Nothing good will come of this and it could easily be a disaster.

Countdown is a fine choice for Obama, however. KO should have him on at least once a week until the election.

Absolutely right. He will only be the president of the dems so why try to talk to voters on the right. Oh yeah, because he might want to win and actually thinks he'll be president for all Americans. Obama rocks!

What a joke.

My hope is that Obama is wise enough to have stipulated that the interview be live with no commercials and run by neutral technicians who will not respond to O'Reilly's orders to cut Obama's mike off at O'Reilly's whim.

I understand. One one level, what's the point? Regular Faux News viewers voted for Bush over Kerry 88-7.

But on the other hand, if Obama causes just a tiny handful of Faux News viewers to conclude he is not quite the "empty suit" that Team McCain pretends him to be, life gets tougher for Team McCain.
