Cindy McCain Says She Disagrees With Palin On Abortion

In a one-one-one interview with CBS' Katie Couric, Cindy McCain says she disagrees with Sarah Palin on abortion:

COURIC: Some, even Republicans seem surprised that Senator McCain picked a running mate who opposes abortion even in-- in the cases of rape and incest and believes creationism should be taught in schools. And I'm just curious, do you believe--or do you agree with that?

MCCAIN: What I agree with is the fact that she is a social conservative, she is a reform minded woman, she is someone that will shake the-- the-- Washington up, which is exactly what we wanna do. We differ on many issues, we differ with-- across the board with people. We don't have to agree on every issue.

COURIC: Abortion has suddenly become, again, a hot button issue, because of her--

MCCAIN: I think to you all it has--

COURIC: Well, I think probably, at least, it's reported that a lot of people are now talking about this. And I-- where do you stand on abortion?

MCCAIN: I'm pro-life, I'm on the record as being pro-life, like my husband.

COURIC: So, do you oppose it even in the cases of rape and incest?

MCCAIN: No.

COURIC: No? So, that's where you two differ--

MCCAIN: Uh-huh (AFFIRM).

Abortion rights had barely even touched in any of the speeches, right or left, until Palin was brought onto the scene. So I would say that the GOP are who made it a contention again. As usual they want to project their misdeeds upon the "other guy" in order to have the appearance of keeping their collective hands clean.

What offends me most about the GOP is the apparently prevailing belief of superiority and that the rest of the world is blind and stupid.

PRECISELY ! How can life begin at conception EXCEPT for rape and incest? What are those things called that are conceived under these two circumstances? That is the most hypocritical thinking I've ever heard. I don't get it ! And when did Grandpa change his stance? If I recall, a few months ago he had the same stance as Cindy.

Those fetuses don't supersede the rights of the mother. If you care about life, you must care for the life you see standing right before you. And not bypass the life of that raped woman to care for the fetus you've heard is growing in her uterus.

If, like Sarah Palin, you insist on giving birth to children way past your best period, please tell what rights does her next potentially special needs child have? Zero, as far I can tell. The fetus has no rights whatsoever, everything has been decided for it.
