GOP Crowd Boos NBC (VIDEO)

The folks over at MSNBC have become political scapegoats for the supporters of the candidate opposing Barack Obama. In the Democratic primary, backers of Hillary Clinton often quipped over what they deemed as unfair and often sexist coverage. In the general election the animosity between the McCain campaign and the peacock network has also spilled over into public.

So it was with as much humor as surprise that the crowd at the Republican Convention derided the network during the midst of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's speech Wednesday night. After the Alaska Governor ridiculed the media for conflating her outsider status with being unqualified, the crowd stood up in applause... then boos... then derisive chant.

"NBC, NBC, NBC," they declared, pointing their fingers at the Networks filing center in the stadium. It was a sharp moment during a wildly applauded address. The media, indeed, has become the uniting foe for the GOP.

Thank you NBC and MSNBC. At least you give us a place to watch the other side of the news, Keith Olbermann you are one of the few true journalist out there. You call a spade a spade and are have the courage to speak out. America is too important to be circle jerked again and led by the nose. We are in the mess we are in because journalist did not do their job back in 2000, in the months leading up to the Iraq war, and since. Unfortunately the main stream media has been part of the propaganda machine, in others words an extension of the republican party. NBC and MSNBC, you must be doing something right if you got booed. I posted this comment earlier and I am compelled to re-post to counter some of the right wing talking points in this thread.

Keith Olbermann is an American Patriot. The hatred from the lunatic fringers at the GOP convention is not so much about NBC as it is about our hero Keith Olbermann. For years, the far right has been able to set the agenda in the media with the help of their corporate sponsors. They were allowed to shove their moronic talking points down our throats with almost reckless abandon. There was no alternative voice that articulated the views of the average American until, of course, the advent of the Great Keith Olbermann. Keith is slowly dismantling the entire right wing establishment. The truth is his weapon and justice his purpose. He has continually held the Bush Regime accountable for its criminality and has defended our civil liberties even in the face of great oppression from the status quo.

The Republicans now realize they don't have a compliant media to help them accomplish their dark dreams for this country anymore - that's why they've been acting so crazy. A media that sold us into war in 2003 and have, by and large, enabled the Bush disaster have come a long way. Keith and the progressive blogosphere are instrumental in this change. They are on the front-lines of a new realignment in America which is determined to reclaim this country from the right wing lunatic fringe.

I too had a teenage daughter who got pregnant, i remember how davasted she was. i had a small business, i had to take time out to be with her and help her through it. you can talk to your children but they don't always listen. as a mother i put my daughters first. and i beleive gov. pallen made a bad choice when she accepted the VP possition. she must have known that her daughter would have been put in the headlines. she is no different than any other person in public life. fair or not, what ever they do is news, President Bushe's daughters, President Clinton's daughter, even the Kennedies who is American darlings were not spared from the media. we may not like it but if we put ourselves in the lime light then we will shine good or bad. I waited up to hear Gov. Pallen's speach and was hoping to know something about her as a person and a mother, i was impressed that a woman was added to the ticket. i have tuned out politician for years because of all the empty promised made every election year. now i know from experience that the best form of defence is attacking the other person, especially when you dont have any dirt on them. i would like some one to please tell me how important a mavric is to my getting a job, saving the roof over my head, helping me get medical care, and protecting this country. personally if i was hireing some one for the job of running my business i would want the best candidate. experience is not always the best judgement of a good ceo. but commonsense has proven a good tool to have. i pretty much judge a person on the way they operate as a family, if they have one. if you cant controll you house which is a small environment then, i would wonder how are you going to controll congress as they are a group of spoil children who want to play whatever game they choose to play. You are correct. Experience counts. However, the point of being a maverick is to ensure change, and I'll explain in a bit. First, no one can deny that McCain is a maverick. He has pissed off more in his own party than most Democrats. He is not one to tow the party line. The same can be said of Palin, which was why she was selected.

McCain promises to change the way things happen in Washington. Earmarks and pork will be a thing of the past if McCain gets his way. Wasteful and unwanted programs that do nothing but "bring the bacon home" for Senators and reward cronies and lobbyists will meet resistance from McCain. This is the change that McCain says he wants to bring to Washington.

Now, it's no secret that Obama wants change too. However, I feel the change he promises is a change from Republican control to Democrat control and change control of American wealth.

Finally, it's not like Palin doesn't have a record. She's spent more time in public office than Obama has. Her record is easily found via Google. If you don't like her record, that is fair, but don't claim that she doesn't have one. The difference is that the press has paid little attention to her before now. And why would they? She was just a governor of Alaska. Can you tell me who is the governor of S. Carolina or any state that is not close by?

MSNBC White House correspondent David Gregory actually asked Obama communications director Robert Gibbs this afternoon if the columns at the Denver stadium extravaganza were actually made of Styrofoam, as Palin contended. Gibbs didn't answer. I anxiously await MSNBC's next attempt to fact-check Palin. I say again: Keep it up, MSNBC. Republicans will love you for it come November.

I have not heard that much against Palin by the media the she doesn't deserve. But Republican ditto-heads hear something on the Republican media and run around repeating it without thinking. Did I hear some of the comments mention that Republican are 'thinkers'? Everything I've heard from them in the last 50 years flies in the face of such statement. If you've kept track of the Electoral Polls--which are estimates of the number of electoral votes by which well be rewarded to each canditate--shows Obama consistent ahead by between 20 and 30.

The only reason George Bush won the last two elections was because of his supreme court strings and 527's. Afterall if the hadn't smeared John Kerry's was record, and even smeared John McCaine's reputation, with a pack of lies, the we wouldn't have had Republicans in office for the past eight years.
And, I think most everyone agrees the country is in worse shape than it was eight years ago--now that's something of which all you right-wing extremists to be proud .

If you haven't heard any unfair reporting of Palin, then you haven't been paying attention. Biden's son was in the hospital when he ran for Congress as a new single father. Edwards has children and wife who is dying from terminal cancer. Did anyone ask these guys who would take care of their kids? No. Did they ask that question of Palin. Absolutely. What's the difference between these two guys and Palin? Gender and party.
