I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Levi Tarmac

Mike Huckabee took a little off-script rhetorical trip to get in a jab at the political media tonight in St. Paul, saying:

I would like to thank the elite media for doing something that, quite frankly, I wasn't sure could be done. That's unifying the Republican party and all of America in support of Senator McCain and Governor Palin! The reporting for the past few days have proven tackier than a costume change at a Madonna concert.

Tacky coverage, eh? Yeah, I'll tell you, the word "tacky" came to mind this afternoon when I saw that they had flown Levi Johnston all the way out to Minnesota so that the cameras could capture him receiving Maverick's blessing. But that's Mike Huckabee, always the ironist.

I cannot believe that there is a ticket worse than Bush/Cheney...

I know what you mean. For me, Bush/Cheney was pure, lazy, unadulterated evil. McCain/Palin is pure, shallow, unadulterated stupidity. I don't know which is worse. All I know is this feels more dangerous in the world we have today.

Off script my ass. This is the Hail Mary -- using Palin to turn the election into a referendum on the Media, since McCaiin simply can't beat Obama in a straight election. This is the game-changing strategy.

I used to have respect for Mike Huckabee - but now I know that that kind face - can lend itself to the most cutting remarks - particularly the one when he joked someone wanted to shoot Obama!

Last night at the GOP Convention was more of the same !!

His speech seemed a little bit bitter. He talked about Big Government - what he didn’t mention was the Big Mess that Republican rule has got the country in.

Like I keep saying, it's about time,"the elite media," does their job. If they would have done their job when Bush talked about Iraq, maybe we wouldn't be in Iraq today. When did the press ever ask Bush tough questions? They were wimps. This isn't no ordinary job, this is Vice-President of the United States. I hope the media does continue to investigate her. It's a job that has to be done so let them do their job.

Mike Huckabee might be a rock star among the bible thumpers but to this "elite" he's a bit of a clown. If there is a deity, he spared Huck the burden of self-awareness. BTW I thought his anecdote in last night's speech about the principal who removed desks from the classroom didn't quite hit the mark. It was one of those "how's that again" anecdotes that after a big buildup added up to HUH????

A thought about the bible-thumpers...I have wondered if they believe that God is in control of everything then why is it important for them to vote??? Wouldn't God appoint who he wanted as president anyway? According to fundamentalist philosophy, if Obama wins then God wants him to be president, God has chosen him to be president.

Yeah, they got kinda an internal contradiction there that you cannot make them see.

How about when a hurricane devastates an area and then they thank the invisible man in the sky for not being too devastating. Geez, we're going back to the days of animism and the belief in the witch doctors.

When the topic is tacky the report will be tacky. That's just the way it goes.

yeah...isn't he a CHRISTIAN??
Wasn't GW a CHRISTIAN too when he was running for office?
Wasn't GW going to be the "compassionate President"?
So the Republicans run on "family" and "religion".
And we have McCain the adulterer, a man who abadoned his own children.
Now, we have Palin. A christian, who is against women's rights.
Doesn't believe in birth control, sex ed., and her teen unwed daughter is PG,
and paraded on stage like beauty queen. I'm sorry...this IS an issue for me.
Being a woman, it is NOT SEXIST! IF she wants abstinence ONLY toaught to ALL OUR CHILDREN, what will we do with all these young teen girls that get PG, b/c her religious veiws, will become POLICY. Not all teens have a mother who is a governor. Who will take care of these teens and their babies, when she and McCain cuts benefits to these same PG teens?
The word Christian...in politics....means 4 more years of the same CHRISTIAN VALUES AS BUSH/CHENEY!!

Huckabee's candidate was more interested in "stepping on a bounce" than introducing his running mate in a polished fashion. McCain didn't vet his running mate, so the average citizen--with access to research and the capacity to publish in the click of a mouse--vetted her for themselves. Now he wants to blame media because they responded to the admittedly wild speculations of a voting public in the absence of information, and throw hissy fits because they know less about their candidate than the average hockey, soocer, baseball, or badminton mom with a laptop and internet access. How tacky is that?

Papa, don't preach.

Huckabee is a confused reactionary hiding under religion and one-liners. He has no substance. Sorry, the same media he was attacking tried to wash this pig (Huck) but he kept stinking and could not make it far. I have no sympathy for the MSM because all these fools they try to foister on American people come back to haunt them if their agenda is not met or is "threatened" by the same media.
The media has become the WEEPING TOM of the same political rogues they defend at out peril.

Huckabee is an idiot.
He is about to get a show on Fox News channel soon.
I'm sure he will tell you they don't slant their coverage against Obama.

Governor, when you became Mayor of the small town of Wasilla population 6000 it had no debt, yet you left the town saddled with a $22 million debt in just 2 terms.

Governor, tell the American people why Mayor Palin is not George Bush Lite with a bitter after taste (BUSH LITE).

Henceforth, let it be know the republican candidates are McBush and McLite

I just wish they would quit talking for me. He didn't call and ask me what I thought about the media coverage. How do you become informed if you don't ask the hard questions.

And just how many Madonna concerts has Huckabee attended to know about all her costume changes? Come on Huck, admit it, you're a closet Madonna fan.

Why do they always have to drag in a celebrity in order to insult someone else? Huck needs to reread his Bible, I am sure theres nothing in there that condones this kind of stuff.

If not for the media, Huckabee as a political "figure" would not exist.
