Palin Files Ethics Complaint Against Herself

Anchorage Daily News:

Gov. Sarah Palin wants a state board to review the circumstances surrounding the dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan -- taking the unusual step of making an ethics complaint against herself.

Her lawyer sent an "ethics disclosure" Monday night to Attorney General Talis Colberg. The governor asked that it go to the three-person Personnel Board as a complaint. While ethics complaints are usually confidential, Palin wants the matter open.

The lawyer, Thomas Van Flein, also asked the state Legislature to drop its own investigation into the Monegan matter. He says the Personnel Board has jurisdiction over ethics.

She won't cry TONIGHT. She will save the tears for later. Tonight she will likely do quite well at delivery. She'll talk about her Commander in Chief status over the National Guard. She will talk about all of the massive amounts of executive experience she has. She will talk about being Pro Life and her daughter, etc. She will tell HER story and tell us that she just recently paid off her college loans too. The Repubs will try to "one up" the Democratic speeches from last week. See, we have a "normal, everyday" person on our ticket. Not all of us are filthy rich. She knows how many houses she owns, bla, bla, bla. Question for Palin: How many people have you fired or caused to be fired? She won't know that number.

You need to read a few articles on the Sarah Palin abuse of power investigation before you comment. If you understood the charges and the chain of events, you would see how your post makes no sense.

You should also know that BEFORE Sarah Palin was nominated as VP, Alaska Republicans and Democrats voted to fund $100,000 toward the investigation into her abuse of power. Now the lawyers have arrived and are desperately trying to stall the investigation.

With all the investigation and all the publicity, how awkward will the long plane rides be on the McCain campaign? There's John McCain, there's Sarah Palin and there's the lawyers sitting across from them trying to figure out how to stall the investigations and spin the stories and interviews with the locals.

At some point, McCain is likely to explode and say "thanks a lot, I really needed this!" While Palin reminds him that she did bring in $10M from the far right.

You just know you want to be a journalist on the McCain campaign plane in the upcoming weeks. If there are any seats left after all the lawyers are seated.

What a crappy article - no where does it mention that the board is appointed by the governor, posing an obvious conflict of interest, instead, we are told this is unusual as though she is taking extra steps to "clear this up." But of course she is conveniently unavailable to be deposed by the staff investigating for the legislature.
