Palin Goes After Obama

After days of mounting questions about her qualifications, Gov. Sarah Palin rallied the Republican National Convention tonight by touting her small-town government experience and ridiculing concerns about whether she is up to the job of vice president.

"Before I became governor of the great state of Alaska, I was mayor of my hometown," Ms. Palin said. "And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a community organizer, except that you have actual responsibilities."

This is a sad day in America when a woman can get on a stage say whatever she wants about a man and if he responds he will be called Sexist. I didn't hear one thing in the speech about 'change' or 'policy', health insurance etc only attacks. McCain picked this woman out of nowhere because she was a woman and now he is using her as an attack dog. If any woman in America is still unsure of who they will vote for or if any disgruntled Hillary supporters are still thinking about going to the GOP I think this should definitely change your mind--or do they think it is okay for a woman to be used in this way. If Obama or Biden or anyone in their campaign attacked her like she attacked Obama last night, woman would come out of the woodwork with claims of sexism. What I saw last night was not politics.

Namely, this: O is just much, much smarter than either McC or Palin. He's like the "Tiger Woods" at age 10 in comparison to the life-long golfer who plays a good game, but without innovation or as much finese

He has delivered thought leadership on Iraq, Iran, Afganistan, and even the pursuit of Al Q in Pakistan - note that all of his ideas have been co-opted - in one form or another - by the GWB admin - while being rejected out of hand by JM

JM has no new ideas, is a war monger, and lacks the judgement or temperment.

In JM's case, the question is not "is he ready?"

If I'm Obama's campaign manager, I'd suggest that O assemble a democratic dream team starring the Queen Bee Hillary Clinton in charge of a high level universal health care and women's issues project,

Bill Clinton as former president adviser to the current president, Kennedy in charge of education, some high profile dem with economic gravitas in charge of economic policy,

Sebelius and Gore on the environment, Richardson on immigration,

Clark on national security, James Carville, Terry McKormick, mix in some high profile Obamacans, all under the fair, wise leadership of the great Obama, the peaceful prince of diplomacy and judgement.

I unveil them tonight or tomorrow like a political version of the Xmen right after McSame's McMumbles speech.

No question that it was a well written speech that was delivered well enough to pass. The conservatives were going to explode in joy if she went to the lectern, said 'Hi,' and walked off the stage; let's ignore their enthusiams.

Will Palin's speech or the general storyline she laid out help McCain win over swing voters? I don't know. She was very angry in that speech and, along with Thompson yesterday and Rudy last night, played up McCain's POW experience to a very cheesy level. And this election is still about McCain. Not sure if voters are convinced yet.

Last night, Chris Matthews said that Palin is the torpedo that WILL sink Obama's ship, he said it while he looked like he was about to cry. It's over. Sooner or later Sarah Palin's association with Alaska Independence Party will need to be explained. The sooner the better. Does she believe in Alaska becomming an indepent nation?
