Willow noticed baby brother Trig's down syndrome, despite the fact she wasn't told in advance, her mom told People:

Initially Palin hid her pregnancy - and her pain - from both the public and her children, son Track, now 19, and daughters Bristol, 17, Willow, 14, and Piper, 7.

"Not knowing in my own heart if I was going to be ready to embrace a child with special needs," she reveals, "I couldn't talk about it."

On April 18, 2008, Palin gave birth to 6-lb, 2-oz. Trig, five weeks early. As Todd and their three daughters gathered around the bedside (Track, an Army private, listened in by phone from his base in Fairbanks), Willow said of the new arrival, "He looks like he has Down syndrome."

Palin, who says her own qualms were laid to rest "the minute [Trig] was born," felt a lump in her throat. "If he does, you know you will still love him, Willow. It'll be okay."

Willow pressed: "But why didn't you tell us?"

Palin admitted she didn't know how to break the news. "I was a little shocked," says Willow "but I don't care - he's my brother and I love him."

I mentioned to a colleague on the job early this weeK..So..Now Republicans are happy if an unwed 17 yr old girl is preggo..?..Ahhh..how time changes attitudes..A Democrat for the largest part of my life...I may change drastically now..John McCain and I have one thing in common...we have both lived thru a fatal and injurious aircraft carrier fire at sea...he on the Forrestal...myself on the Enterprise..I say now...his ticket is a dream ticket for this country...

I agree that the family matters, and especially the children of political candidates should not be drawn into the ugly political discourse typical of the U.S. two-party system (as with Grover Cleveland: ma, ma, where's my pa? gone to the white house ha ha ha) John McCain has said so. Obama agrees. It is marginally acceptable to put the children on the stage for a family picture. But then why was the boyfriend/shotgun groom (?) pulled into the scene? If they really planned to marry, why is it baby first, then plan the wedding? See - - by displaying Levi Johnston, we're all really curious about the wedding date. Very distracting; while Sarah Palin was reading her lines, I was observing that her daughter and very uncomfortable-looking boyfriend-in-law are poster-children for a policy of teaching our youth - ALL of the "facts of life". And did her daughter pursue pregnancy as a reaction to all of the attention given to her mother carrying a downs Syndrome child?

If you are SO easily distracted by when one of the hundreds of thousands of the hundreds of thousands of teenage girls gets married this year, you should turn your voter registration card in and focus on the soaps. This is a FAMILY, and Bristol Palin and her fiance have no bearing on this election. Get over it!

She didnt mention the word college once, adn the only reference to school was that hokey story about her husband.

She is anti-education, and easy position to levy against her.
