Alaska Police Union Files Complaint Against Palin

The GOP candidate for vice president, Gov. Sarah Palin, may be facing yet another ethics investigation back in her home state of Alaska. An ethics complaint obtained by NBC News was filed Wednesday by the police officers union in Alaska, requesting a probe into possible wrongdoing by the governor or her office. It was brought on behalf of state trooper Mike Wooten, an ex-brother-in-law of Palin who is at the center of the "Troopergate" scandal.

The complaint alleges that the governor or her staff may have have improperly disclosed information from Wooten's personnel records. The complaint alleges "criminal penalties may apply."

John Cyr, director of the union that filed the complaint, told NBC News, "It seems obvious to us somebody has improperly accessed [Wooten's] personnel file."

I watched the interview with the trooper. I believe him.

She gave him a stellar recommendation prior to Troopergate. He changed that dramatically in a short time? I think not.

Palin is an abuser of power, who surrounds herself with rabidly loyal people. And believe me, her supporters are rabid.

She called O a Sambo and Hillary a B***c. That completely does it for me. We have enough avowed racists to deal with in this country, but this makes it very clear to me that Civil Rights in this country will regress back to the 1960's if this woman is elected. Mark my word.

Alaska State Troopers are too Powerful. They commit crimes and it takes many years to convict them. When the troopers have commited felonys, then cover up crimes from the top down. Mean while they stay on the job, even when being investigated. We all know this in the small towns, they have a high hand like the old West. Court orders are disobeyed,and Guns not apprehended, even in serious frightening family fights. We have a record of nocompliance, in family divorce, also deaths. Troopers feel the laws aren't for them...This state hasn't had Troopers that long, and these good ole boys, still think they are Marshalls in the last frontier. It is in court records that the Trooper in question used his tasor on his own son.

What I have read is he used the taser on his stepson because the 10-year-old boy asked him to. He wanted to see what it felt like. Wooten used the lowest setting. You jump to a conclusion immediately that St. Sarah--a PROVEN liar and cheat--is somehow on the side of truth and justice in this instance.

Why is the response to republican ethical issues to always say "You mean like Clinton?" and vice versa.

There's plenty of bullshit going on within both major political parties to seriously embarrass every voter in this nation. If we're NOT embarrassed by what's happening in our government, then you're not paying attention. If you get all of your information from the same highly-partisan source they're never going to give you the ugly truth about your party.

Personally, republican or democrat, I don't care. I want to be able to trust the people running this nation, as well as the media that reports on what they're doing.

Why can't we expect ALL of our elected officials - regardless of political affiliation, who are all VERY WELL PAID BY THE TAXPAYER - why can't we expect them to be honest and obey the same laws they expect we the people to obey?

Why can't we expect our government - responsible for ensuring that the individual members of that government are ethical and responsible to the Constitution - why can't we expect the ones in charge to be clean and honest and to hold other members of government to account for their behavior?

Why can't we go after ALL criminals that have been fraudulently elected to office? I say "fraudulently" because if they had been honest in their campaign they never would have been elected.

I do not believe Sarah. There are those who believe they are God, judge and jury when it comes to other people's lives, and cannot see the four fingers pointing back at them, while they see ALL the faults in others.

Yeah, I know, she is pretty, she likes guns, blah blah blah. But, be careful what you ask for.

I feel really sorry for anyone who crosses Sarah. Even worst, when she intuits that she is not liked, or not agreed with, she goes in for the kill.

That base behavior may be good for Alaska, but how many Senators, Congressmen(women), judges, etc., will she try to oust based on her gut?

Are you saying that, even if his staff did go to Alaska, that there is something wrong with finding out the truth of this story? What is left when the meat is carved off the bone? Skeletons. You make the call. The closet door hedges is unraveling. McCain is trying to box Palin in, but they went to war with media and expect them to back off. McCain once said that the media was his base, well he apparently kicked them to curve and put the rest of them under the bus. America is finding out about Palin.
