Jerry Seinfeld's Microsoft Ad Premieres (VIDEO)

During NBC's NFL broadcast Thursday night of the Giants v. the Redskins the new Microsoft ad featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates debuted. Last month news broke Seinfeld would be participating in the $300 million campaign for a fee of about $10 million.

Oh my God, that is bad. I mean... REALLY bad. And I admire these two guys. What the hell did they have in mind? Jerry just kind of went off on a bunch of riffs, they took what they thought were the best, and pinned them together? It's AGONIZING to watch. What has become of this company?

Not nearly as funny as the MAC commercials. I'm a PC guy, not gonna change, but Microsoft sucks and this isn't going to help.

Jerry Seinfeld sold out a long time ago. His brand of humor has gone way stale and his youthful creativity has all but dried up. He makes $40 million a year in residuals from reruns of his show. Good for him. So he should just retire to Florida and spend his days in mindless bickering like the oldsters on his show used to do. That's about all he's good for, I'm afraid.

Bill Gates never had an original idea, ever. His billions come from ripping other people off and foisting second- and third-rate products on the public at high prices. Now he looks like an aging, sexless Peter Pan--not a pretty sight. He should move to Florida, too. Maybe he and Jerry would like to keep making home movies like this together. Great idea, fellas. But, as Sam Goldwyn once said, "include me out."

as one of the original microsoft windows users, along with millions of others, i absolutely hate vista Word. it is incomprehensible, everything gates made us memorize with microsoft word (the original) is now having to be relearned, i can't do anything automatically, my production rate fell 95 percent, and in the end, i pulled it out of the work computer and replaced it with XP Word version.

i am now afraid that since everyone upgraded to vista that gates has made me unemployable. whereas in the past i could take a word or excel test and come out in flying colors, now i am scared **itless to take any of those tests. thanks, gates - after years and years of training us like seals, you've now forsaken us for people who've never used microsoft word or excel before - uh, kids, i guess. screw you!

it's my understanding that vista was rejected wholesale from china and other countries gates tried to peddle it - not sure if that is true, but he needs to junk the entire thing or allow us to go back to the original interface. i can't spend 30 minutes searching for the same function i used to do in a split section. sure i can switch to apple at home, but the workplace is always p.c./windows - and that sucks. /end of rant.

Vista and MS Office are two entirely different products. Office will run identically on Vista as it does on XP. Office 2007 is different than earlier versions, but only in terms of the menus. It takes about 15 minutes to learn the new Ribbon interface (which has been more efficient for me than the old menu system,it's more contextual like Adobe products.)

China rejected Vista for the same reason most organizations forgo an upgrade - because there is a cost associated with it.

I run a Mac, and I would never defend MS against deserved criticism. But I despise ignorance, no matter it's o/s preference.

I think it's not bad, kinda funny and cute. They shoulda ended it after the store segment, though. The outside walking part is dull and drags it down. Wrap it up at the store part and it does ok.

He still does comedy shows although not that much but I've heard he isn't that funny.

Maybe he should ask LD to give him a role on CYE - other people from Seinfeld have been on the show. They could have Jerry move to LA and start a company with Larry or something like that.

But he can't compete with Leon - nobody is funnier than him. My favorite character ever.
