Wednesday night on "The Daily Show," Jon Stewart hit Karl Rove and Bill O'Reilly with damning evidence of their hypocrisy regarding Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

While Rove recently praised Palin's experience as the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Stewart showed video of Rove trashing Virginia Governor — and former Richmond Mayor — Tim Kaine's executive experience, listing all the cities that are bigger than Richmond and calling such a pick "political."

Then, after recent video of O'Reilly describing Bristol Palin's pregnancy as a family issue, Stewart showed a clip of the Fox News host blaming Jamie Lynn Spears' parents for her teenage pregnancy.

Finally, after showing video of Dick Morris complaining about the rampant sexism in the media coverage of Sarah Palin, Stewart unveiled a clip of Morris saying that Hillary hides behind the sexism defense, and that anytime "the big boys" pick on Hillary, "she retreats behind the apron strings."

"In Dick Morris' defense," Stewart said, "he is a lying sack of sh*t."

I don't know whether it's really funny or really disturbing that The Daily Show (and to a lesser extent The Colbert Report) has provided some of the toughest, most on-point and best reporting of this campaign.

I'm not so much referring to this incident in particular as the ish on McCain ("Reformed Maverick") from this past Friday.

I saw this show the other night and I thank God everyday for Jon Stewart and the Daily Show.

NEW RULES:

1. Republicans don"t get to whine and snivel about S.arah P.alin"s private life being invaded after they IMPEACHED A PRESIDENT over his private life.
2. Republicans don't get to attack B.arack O.bama for lacking experience when they nominated a beauty pageant contestant with ZERO foreign policy or national security experience.
3. Republicans don"t get to claim they are fiscally responsible after spending 1 TRILLION dollars on an unnecessary preemptive war to chase imaginary w.eapons of mass d.estruction.
4. Republicans don't get to blame the D.ISASTER wrought by the past 8 years of willful neglect, incompetence and malfeasance by blaming a congress barely controlled by the democrats for a mere two years in which any attempt at progress was blocked by fillabuster or veto.
5. And finally, republicans have to take responsibility for being REPUBLICANS, they don"t get to pretend they have suddenly transformed into some new and exciting "reform" party who will fix what they themselves have created in the first place.

Kudos to Jon Stewart! McSame and his VP Pick are MORE OF THE SAME! The Republicans will do anything not to lose in November. O'Reilly, Morris, and the rest of the mouth pieces for the Republican party should get NO RESPECT!! They only REPEAT what the talking points are for the week. ENOUGH!!

The left has allowed the right to control the vocabulary on these, and many other, issues. This is not a "surge" it is an escalation. This is not a war, it is now an occupation. If the left started using the correct vocabulary many undecided voters would be persuaded to join Obama's movement. The rug needs to be pulled out from under McCain. He should be made to explain why an invasion of Iraq is the result of planes full of Saudi hijackers, trained on Taliban support from Afghanistan, and money from Saudi Arabia, slamming into American buildings.

Can somebody get the rights to this clip and put it out as a commercial? It says it all. The GOP is made up of a bunch of liars and hypocrites! And the pundits, who must be aware of this, are ignoring it completely. The best news on Comedy Central? What's this country coming to?

While you are at it, check out this video...

http://vodpod.com/watch/992423-palins-church-is-a-cult?pod=buzzflash

This is another example of GOP and media hypocrisy! Obama was raked over the coals for months (even now!) by the media for his association with Rev. Wright, McCain had it a little easier but was still questioned by the media about his association with Pastor Hagee, and now this insanity is not being reported by any mainstream media. If Fox or MSNBC had gotten hold of this video about Obama's church we would be talking about it for months! No body better ever even think about anointing me by cellphone!

We know that the "Democrats fall in love and the Republicans fall in line." If this is the future of the GOP, Democrats need to learn this lesson and "love the one we're with!"

Can we get this clip circulated in the battleground states -- all of them? I don't mean on YouTube or Huffington -- I mean by an e-mail chain. I'll start mine right now!

I find it sad that Stewart, a comedian on Comedy Central, is the only one bringing these points out. Is journalism still alive?

uh, presume you actually already KNOW the answer to that question..LOL, the "liberal' media would be offened but then they are easily offended as rank numbers rather small and in TRUTH only those that get swathed with that tag of BEING part of the liberal media sorts are the ones offended to be "so slimed" so they rush even more to prove how they are not and hence such like McC or the run upping to egregiously wrong war and others "things" get glossed over and those that question or opposed are castrated repeatedly as obviously NOT true patriots and total inepts and more. WOrked for the GOP quite well as we can note, enough swllow repeatedly that we have TWO terms of GWB and are about to be crammed with a third version via McCain and Palin.

The republicans are telling the public what they want to hear. NOT what they need to hear.
Result? Republicans may take the White House once again.

Don't blame them.

Republicans watch out for their own interest, forgetting that they have a social duty, believing
that we can survive without our neighbors,

Most well informed republicans are nice people, but, in my opinion, they have lost contact with
society as a whole.

My Father was in High School at the end of WW2 in Hungary when Stalin's Soviet Union occupied Hungary. He went to college for a year as an exchange Student in Leningrad (Now St. Petersburg...again). He told me how they had 24/7 propaganda radio, you couldn't turn off in the dorms. Drove him and his roomies crazy. Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Micheal Reagan, et al., all learned well from the Soviet propaganda machine. People don't want to hear this stuff, people are worn down by the 24/7 relentless propaganda: partially because they cannot believe we engage in propaganda, so they just believe it The only difference between conservative talk and 1950's Soviet prop is that today's talk is made 'entertaining....' It is now more insidious. If you hear how henious Obama allegedly is day and night, you will start believing it. People call this echo chamber part of the 'Conservative think tanks' however you NEVER hear any critical thinking. It is all the same lines repeated over and over again.

Bill O'Reilly's comment that "... as long as society doesn't have to support the mother, father, or baby, it is a personal matter..." is somewhat ironic, considering that every citizen in Alaska receives a dividend of $2,000 every year from an oil-wealth savings account, plus an additional $1,200 windfall tax profit that was legislated by Palin's administration. By having 5 children, the Palins receive an annual stipend from the Alaskan government of $16,000, including $6,000 voted in by her own administration plus an additional $6,400 ($2400 in windfall money) for themselves.

While many American families consider children to be a write-off, in Alaska, it seems that they may be an income source. Of course, this should be considered when discussing the question of right to life, and could explain why the Palins are welcoming the addition of an unwanted pregnancy as an additional family income of $6,400 (the impending birth and the addition of a new son-in-law) into the family fold.

When all is said and done, the Palin household will gross $28,800 for simply having having a large family. Now THAT's what I call family values!

And then they expect the taxpayers of the Lower 48 to spend our money on needed Alaskan infrastructure. Or unneeded like the Bridge To Nowhere. Which was the rule, not the exception.

They get elected by running against the Federal government. As if, without Federal spending in Alaska ,the state wouldn't be bankrupt within days.

This isn't confined to Alaska. Throughout the West those who hate the Federal government the most all seem to be the most entitled to Federal tax dollars.

But I don't know of any other state that gives it's revenues away and then expects the taxpayer in Chicago or Philadelphia to make up the shortfall.

In Massachusetts where I live, you can get free healthcare if your family works in the fishing industry. Wonder if Alaska has the same perk for their fishermen, like Palin's hubby. And of course McCain has had great healthcare for over 20 years being part of the Senate. No wonder they are out of touch on what the average person goes through with insurance companies.....yep pull yourself by your bootstraps! Do as I say not as I do!

Is it just me, or is it crazy exhausting to try to counter the lies that are everywhere in the news? I am not Democrat or Republican, but I'm a big fan of the truth. It's sick the way the lies keep flying. I have to say, I appreciate it when Obama notices that "they" think we're stupid. Intelligent people of America have to see through caribou barbie and other distractions. I hate that any candidate has to spend time fighting crafty politicking while i wait for real information. I'm voting for whoever doesn't treat me like an idiot.

It's soooooo exhuasting! Oh God I totally agree with you! It's scarey how much organization and money has gone into the Conservative echo chamber! they are Wearing down the people who are already to overtired and overworked, trying to keep thier heads above water to try to figure out the crap from the reality. That's what they have done since Reagan. it's creepy and sad. They did it beautifully in the 2000 and 2004 campaign, and look what happened! We just had a dandy 8 years!

Hypocrisy happens in both parties. It's politics, folks. This is a "kettle-pot" non-story. Get over it. Palin is a keeper.

well actually you are incorect, they are transparent right wing hacks masquerading as "journalists".

its more than a little ironic that the se people lose there mid over other legitamate jouirnalists merely asking questions about her daughter, when these are the same group of idiots interjecting "family values" into everything. but i do sort of end up agreeing with them in the long run, its nobodies damn business, and that goes for palin as well as jamie lynn spears and other people like that, maybe they should practie what they preach...
