Wednesday night on "The Daily Show," Jon Stewart hit Karl Rove and Bill O'Reilly with damning evidence of their hypocrisy regarding Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

While Rove recently praised Palin's experience as the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Stewart showed video of Rove trashing Virginia Governor — and former Richmond Mayor — Tim Kaine's executive experience, listing all the cities that are bigger than Richmond and calling such a pick "political."

Then, after recent video of O'Reilly describing Bristol Palin's pregnancy as a family issue, Stewart showed a clip of the Fox News host blaming Jamie Lynn Spears' parents for her teenage pregnancy.

Finally, after showing video of Dick Morris complaining about the rampant sexism in the media coverage of Sarah Palin, Stewart unveiled a clip of Morris saying that Hillary hides behind the sexism defense, and that anytime "the big boys" pick on Hillary, "she retreats behind the apron strings."

"In Dick Morris' defense," Stewart said, "he is a lying sack of sh*t."

Good job Jon! This should help to slowdown 'Moose-stang Sally' and her bullring.

People PLEASE register to vote before October 3rd. If possible request an absentee ballot and vote EARLY. I am not taking any chances with the republican this year; they like to disenfranchise voters, especially minorities.

So, if you don't have to deal with them on November 4th do NOT!

In Maryland you can request an absentee ballot. The deadline is October 28. PLEASE, vote and vote early!

I don't live in Maryland so this will not help me. My son is old enough to vote this year and I'm taking him to the polls with me so he gets to experience what voting is all about.

He is a senior in high school this year and is required to take Government. His first day in this class the teacher asked what type of government the US has. He was astounded when he was told the US is a republic. The teacher then told the class that it was the first time in his 15 year career of teaching Government that this question was answered correctly. This spoke volumes to me about the interest of our next generation of citizen. I hope they will continue to show interest in our government system and help it "do the right thing" for all citizens, not just the favored few!

I really liked the message, and would share it with all of my conservative friends. But as soon as the word testicle is uttered, they would shut it off. Also, they would tune out at personal criticism of Karl Rove and other icons. Could you give me a "G" rated version? I'd like them to look at themselves, rather than get in a diatribe over obscenities, and they totally miss this point. Of course, as soon as they realize it runs counter to their position, they may tune out anyway. The truth is more often painful, and denial is such a "happy" place.

Two weeks ago, I was a McCain supporter, but was expressing that I felt Hillary had been mistreated in the press - they ("Patriots"} had the gall to tell me that Hillary was too "bitchy"...that other women were successful without being like that.. I'm amazed that being a really good public liar was such a winning qualification for people with "strong moral values"! I guess there is a set of values for the voter and a set for those in public office.
Facts - Sarah's Earmarks
27 million / 6700 people = 4029.85 per PERSON in ear marked funds as mayor!!!
223million / 650,000 people = 343.08 in earmarked bridge money per PERSON in the state that was NOT used for the bridge. My question is how was that money spent?
No wonder Alaskans love her - and they accuse Obama and Hillary of being socialist!

The whole Republican convention went by without offering a single idea about how to improve the lives of ordinary Americans. ~~~~~~~~

John McCain and the Republicans had all week to make their case -- and they didn't do it. ~~~~~~~~~~

Senator Obama clearly speaks out about exactly what we didn't hear at the Republican convention. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

John McCain believes that the fundamentals of our economy are "strong."
The media has reported this week that unemployment jumped to its highest rate in five years, and our economy lost 605,000 jobs this year alone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~

All of you should know; the economy is a bust ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Most Americans cannot afford gas ~~~~~

Americans Jobs going, going, gone ~~~~~~~

American Veterans Benefits has been cut, etc ~~~~~

McCain wants to continue the war ~~~~~~~~~

We have a war is going on ~~~~~~~~~

President Bush misused our tax dollars in Iraq ~~~~~~~~~~

McCain lies, he does not want change! ~~~~ McCain voted with George W. Bush more than 90 percent of the time, and he thinks Americans are falling for his lies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~

Americans are making the right choice and will in November vote for Obama-Biden Ticket. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is not 2000 or 2004! ~~ Republicans like Palin, Giuliani, and Romney can engage in red-meat partisan vitriol all they want, right out of the Karl Rove playbook. ~~~~~~~~~~~~

Americans now have seen the full impact of GOP policies on their pocketbook. ~~~~~~~~~~~

Obama for President and Obama for Vice President!

As someone recently moved to the US. I have been keeping a close eye on the campaign events. I guess untill recently I would fall under the category of swing voters. But after watching Glenn Beck's show on the CNN headline for several days, I am beginning to like to Obama and see a great leader and visionary in him. Glenn Beck's harsh criticism on Obama in all his shows convinced me the Obama has to be an abled leader and someone who wants to really help the country.

And BTW Jon Stewart, you simply rock.

Welcome to America.

I don't know, how long you've been here, but we used to have a much more solid and prosperous country eight years or so ago. Hopefully, you - we - can achieve this again. :-)

We progressives have been barraged with lectures and scorn from the Glenn Becks and the Bill O'Reillys and the Ann Coulters, and the Sean Hannitys for years. The last eight years have seen gutter politics. McCain's campaign is taking the cake.

Eight is enough!

I love this. It is unbelievable how differently Michelle Obama has been treated in the media, particularly by Fox News as they sweep all of this other stuff under the rug for being deemed "sexist." Whatever excuse or reason they can find to elect a republican, no matter what the consequences! As long as they stay in power!

A few weeks ago in the minds of the detractors, and for some trivial reasons, neither Barack nor Michele loved their country. Now here come a woman who is said to have toyed with the idea of being part of a separatist movement for Alaska to seede from the Union, and yet no one has questioned her loyalty to the USA, Governor or not.
The Rebuplican party is clearly contemptuous of the electorate, and I hope the Dems will fight back. We've got to take back this country from these saboteurs of our future.

This is why the Daily Show is the primary news outlet for so many people - they expose the absurdity and hypocrasy of our culture in a way that NO OTHER NEWS ORGANIZATION does! I applaud The Daily Show for this exemplary piece and it underscores why the Daily Show and Colbert Report are worthy of Peabody and Emmy awards year after year.
Don't ever stop Jon - We need you in the media to keep the other "news agencies" honest.

P.S. Great job, Jon, lecturing the other news organizations at the DNC about their lazy reporting over the past few years.

The only other place I've seen the show calling out BS like "The Daily Show" is "Meet The Press". It's bizarre that the 'fake news show' does so much more than the purported "experts".
Mr. Stewart.....please continue doing what you (and your writers) do best!!!

You have said it all! Night after night, the only real reporting comes from comedy shows (THE DAILY SHOW and COLBERT REPORT). Why can't the news networks point these hypocrises out? I guess they are just too afraid of what the Murdoch machine will do/say.

The other shows have to be more moderate or the other side won't allow their people to go on that show or network. Look how much trouble Bill Maher has getting conservative guests to show up on the panel portion of his show. Or how John the Hero McCain wouldn't face Larry the softball King, because Campbell Brown was mean to McCain's strategist and talking point hit man when he couldn't answer about even one thing Palin is done as Commander In Chief of the Alaska National Guard, which as we know, is why McCain and friends say she is ready to lead from Day One.

Little Johnny took his marbles and went home.

That's why the MSM toady's to these people. To do otherwise is to place your hour show at risk of never having guests, and being eliminated. In other words, the money and celebrity is more important to them the actually reporting the news or what's best for the nation.

John however, doesn't have to worry about that. These morons forget that what the say is forever on video or the web. And whenever they have a book to sell, it seems their publishers demand they go on The Daily Show because of the vast audience the show commands.

It's why he could go on Crossfire and call them all dicks.

I sent the vid to a woman I know who works on the Factor ( She's my sleeper agent ) & they are aware of this. One producer was overheard saying "I hope the CNN & MS don't pick this up" my agent laughed to herself, we talk about 3 times a week & she tells me FOX is very worried about an Obama victory, they feet it will start a real backlash against what they stand for. Well the commentators that is. You see there is a real divide growing @ FOX that has been kept in house for months now. The reporters are not happy with the commentators passing themselves off as reporters. The persons at the center of the storm are Sean H & Bill O , not much Bill due to the fact he started out as a reporter but Sean H & others of his thinking are getting major backlash, she goes on about how Sean has no college degree & acts like a real news man. But anyway the vid is great & people please Turn of your TV , all this has happened before remember the movie Network .. Wake UP all the press is the same CNN / FOX / MSNBC even the Huffington Post all the same just putting out the point of view they think YOU want to hear I trust no of them ....

somsoc , Since you are so sarcastic, tell us, just what education do you have?

Obama; First black president of Harvard Law Review. Harvard graduate. All on scholarships, he paid off from proceeds of books he has written.

McCain; 5Th from bottom of class of 900, Naval Academy. Admirals, (father & grandfather) prevented him from being expelled on more than one occasion.

Palin; 6 different collages in 5 years, no verification of journalism degree. Partially funded scholarship from beauty pageant. Nothing published in collage or since.

Attempted to have books removed from Wasilla library. Librarian refused to agree to censorship, consequently fired for this. Community rallies behind librarian, becomes reinstated. Pushed for creationism to be taught in public schools.

Did I mention rumour of degree in journalism?

To the best of my knowledge, Bill O'Reilly has a degree from Boston University. Still, I find it hard to understand why he is taken seriously. Here is a link describing his activities with one of his producers. He apparently settled out of court.

I seem to remember some people questioning the patriotism of Barak and Michelle Obama.
It would've been nice if Jon could've showed some of those clips and then spoke about Todd Palins membership to the Alaska Independent Party who's founder is quoted on their web site saying:
"I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions."

as much as i agree with you...

that really isn't obama's job, to play magnum p.i.

it would look really bad on his part. as much as i want him to lol, but he just can't take on that role.

unfortunately, that role is for the media to report. but, sad thing is, with so many biased networks...the truth will only visible on blogs and Daily Show lol.

I agree, he can't do it directly, but imagine an ad campaign that showed the republicans talking out of both sides of their mouths? Imagine an ad campaign with that Rove quote about him being an atheist, but that they needed to get the "crazies" as in fundamentalists out to the polls? I think there needs to be an expansion of some campaign strategy on Obama's side, that goes beyond the BO website, fight the smears, and all that, and get a little more viral, a little more direct, a little more calling bullsh*t on all the bullsh*t...there is no reason the republicans should even have a leg to stand on, they are not representative of the vast bulk of americans...lets peal their populist masks off a little bit, show them as the lying elitists that they are?

He'll do it alright-I think he'll wait until about 2 to 3 weeks before the election. There is a large element of our country who are so easily duped, that he could bring up all the lies and hypocracy regrding the republicans, and they'll forget it 2 minutesafter drooling over Sarah. He will, however, start doing what he is doing now, which is responding to every crazy lie they put out, ezpecially the ones about him. Look at his speech today. He finally called them on Palin's earmarks.

WOW 77 FILIBUSTERS?

And the repubs are always whining about the dems when the thugs were in power and threatened to take away the right of filibuster unless the thugs gave the dems permission to filibuster?

AND YET, the MSM never ever mentions the obstructionist thug party but used the phrase quite freely when the thugs were throwing it around.

This is not a new phenom. The one who started the abuse of the filibuster is none other than Bob Dole. Bob Dole ran the country from 92-94 by making sure nothing was done and then the Republicans blamed the Dems as a "do nothing" Congress. Does this sound familiar? Another favorite theme of the Republican party is to label ANY Democrat with the following labels: tax and spend, most liberal, and my personal favorite, can't be trusted with national security.

Bob Dole was also the author of the forget the issues, mudslinging, personal attack campaign. I hope hope he is proud of his legacy.

I honestly would challenege many of you who post on this site as well as many other sites to blanket the web and print media with your hews and cries. Post this great video clip from Jon Stewart to all your friends who care to listen if you truly care for this country. The wider the audience, the better and more powerful the effect (Remember Jeremiah Wright???). But you can scream down heaven here and have negligible impact. But alas, Americans have such as short memory span (at most 2 weeks) Hence Republicans win elections because they know how to hold their folks in long term ignorance while they repeat lies to the rest of us like parrots until we believe their lies. What a tragedy. But democrats often are way too sophisticated for the majority of US electorates. Know thy customers!!!

I find it quite ironical that with all the evil he has caused in the country, that Mr. Rve is still asked for his opinion by folks. Just tells me that some people will never learn. A guy who has shown such unmatched capacity to lie, deceive, dodge and confound facts is still expected to speak with credibility. You might as well ask the devil what he really thinks or expect him to give an honest testimony in court.

Dream On.
