Wednesday night on "The Daily Show," Jon Stewart hit Karl Rove and Bill O'Reilly with damning evidence of their hypocrisy regarding Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

While Rove recently praised Palin's experience as the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Stewart showed video of Rove trashing Virginia Governor — and former Richmond Mayor — Tim Kaine's executive experience, listing all the cities that are bigger than Richmond and calling such a pick "political."

Then, after recent video of O'Reilly describing Bristol Palin's pregnancy as a family issue, Stewart showed a clip of the Fox News host blaming Jamie Lynn Spears' parents for her teenage pregnancy.

Finally, after showing video of Dick Morris complaining about the rampant sexism in the media coverage of Sarah Palin, Stewart unveiled a clip of Morris saying that Hillary hides behind the sexism defense, and that anytime "the big boys" pick on Hillary, "she retreats behind the apron strings."

"In Dick Morris' defense," Stewart said, "he is a lying sack of sh*t."

I truly believe that the Republican party, and Fox News are a bunch of hyporicrits! Why is it that the so-called conservatives want to have their cake and eat it too? Why is it that on the one hand, the conservative politicans and journalist want to act like they are better than liberals and moderates, when it comes to womens issues, conservatism, and civil rights. And on the other, this group of skewed, snarky, sarcastic pundants and politicians want to believe that is okay to smile in our faces, pretend like it is okay to blame liberals and moderate Americans for their views, but when one their own has to deal with a out-of-wed-lock birth, it's an attack on the right and liberals have no moral ground to stand on because we "liberals" are the people who should stand on the moral high ground. I think that is bull****!

thank you, paratroop315:
mccain put me to sleep early last night w/ his speech - but palin's left me pondering what is it that makes these conservatives tick? hypocrisy is so central to their identity.
look at darling cindy: who is one of many who find themselves hooked on prescription drugs... but the prison sentences for those who find themselves hooked on illegal drugs are nuts..
anyway, why was palin smiling when she announced her son would soon be deployed to iraq? is she nuts? i think she feels she is on gods' mission...?

We all have problems posting. Its the site with the most traffic. However they do censor words so Bill O'reily does not get upset.

Its not your views... We love posters with quick witty comebacks based on a complete lack of knowledge!

I am highly suspect of Karl Rove. The guy isn't nice to anyone. He wants Sarah Palin to go to Jail after the election so nobody can vote on her replacement in the RNC. The little snake is out to get his behind covered to avoid jail time and will throw anyone under the bus to do it. Nothing would surprise me if he had anything to do with her sudden outtage. Let's face it folks, they knew going in she had Zero expirience going in, and once they got in using her, they don't care if she is tossed under the bus. Yes Rove and the RNC are that evil and that sneaky. I am not the only one to be thinking this way, I have read on the alternative media varied stories in which Rove snickers about this. I dislike and disagree with Sarah all the way, but i don't like to see people used, abused for political gains. Rove, you bastard, you are so transparent and pathetic. You should get life, no parole or pardon for all the crimes you had a hand in while in office.

Why in God's name can't the "liberal" media just call these guys out? I am trying to look to the future, not the past- but we went through this entire flip-flop thing with Kerry, And here we are with the GOP and McCain: He was for immigration ieform before he was against it, was against off-shore drilling before he was for it, he was against the Bush tax scheme before he was for it- blah, blah, blah
Jeeze-where is that woman who dressed like a "flip-flop" and followed John Kerry around the entire month of October???

Please note: 32% of elgible African Americans are not registered to vote. Look at the southern states of Georgia, N and S Carolina and Florida (who by the way has the 2nd highest Af American population in the nation)..... Let me be clear. That is nearly 7 million people...many of whom I have personally seen wearing Obama gear, yet will not be able to do a thing on Nov 4, but to watch election coverage on TV.
1-866-MY-VOTE1 - will register you over the phone. There is no excuse.

There is a large voter registration drive going, but please....do what you can to pass this along.

It may be uncomfortable for some to help out or even go into certain neighborhoods where you can be of help, but please think about our futures. We are truly in this together.

I am a suburb raised Af. American, but believe me...if it takes going into a neighborhood I am not familiar with, I will do it. Please join me!

Why do you assume that because someone is black that they will automatically vote for Obama? Is that all that matters? Showing up the white folks? What a lame excuse to not look at which candidate holds the best interestes of our country in mind. By the way, I'm latin.

Most black folks like many white folks know that Obama is the better choice, it's really that simple. Some latinos will vote for McCain, but more will vote for Obama - this despite the efforts by Univision to tilt the tables toward McCain. Conservatives will vote heavily for McCain, obviously. So, in the end will enough whites, latinos and blacks vote for Obama to overcome the basically white crowd that will vote for McCain? That's why we need to register more minority voters, both blacks and latinos.

Well maybe its that Repugs voted against the 1964 Civil Rights Bill and then still supported segregation in the south as their Southern Strategy.

By the way thru most of the south at that time , marriage of different races was still illegal.

I agree, let's register as many McCain/Palin voters as possible. You got me motivated. This weekend I'll be signing up as many Rep as possible. Thanks for the information.

MainStreamMedia is CORPORATE, not Liberal or Conservative.

Yes, Jon Stewart's show excels at beating pundits with their own pulpits. That episode was easily one of his best, especially if you look at the interview with Newt Gingrich that followed.

I'm a fan. Jon Stewart rocks.

HE should host the vice-presidential debate. I'd pay to see that!

Frankly, I think that professional journalists the networks should be ashamed that a relatively small outfit like Stewart's writing staff can research and present stuff like this time and again on Repub and Dem politicians but the "pros" do not.

I think it just goes to show that the twenty years of carping by (mostly) the right wing about so-called media bias has journalists, editors and producers afraid to do much of anything that might make the subjects of their reporting angry. We citizens - left, right and everywhere between - are the poorer for it.

It would be an interesting exercise to figure out how Watergate or the Pentagon Papers stories would have played out if they had happened in the current media environment.

What we all need to realize is that the leaders in the Republican party pander to the bible beating kooks because they are sheep and all you need to do is agree with all their extremist views and you can be their leader.
Has this country ever had such an in your face religious nut run for office before. I am amazed that there hasn't been much mention of her religious views.

It was a great segment - even among Stewart's many, many, many great segments. I wish Jon Stewart were the standard rather than the exception among American journalists. The mainstream talking heads are bought and paid for - never ask any tough questions. When is the last time you heard a CBS, NBC, or ABC journalist speak any truth to power?

Did you just call Jon Stewart a journalist? A journalist?! He is a great entertainer and comedian but I'm sure that even he would not consider himself a journalist.

Indeed, he has gone out of his way to mention that he is not a journalist. The fact that he is more trusted than they are is less a credit to him than a major failing of the mainstream media. He's just the (brilliant) jester that gets to tell it like it is while the rest of the royal court cowers in fear.

No Schallvain. How I read Velocitor's comment is, Jon Stewart's way of bringing new to us unwashed masses should be used as standard all American journalists should attempt to emulate.

I could be wrong (not trying to put words through Velocitor's keyboard here) but that's how I read it because *everyone* knows, Jon Stewart is an entertainer, not a journalist.

I disagree. He often does get, as he calls it, "serious," and question politicians on issues; for instance, he questioned Newt Gingrich on Sarah Palin's statement that it was Bristol's "decision" to keep her baby. Jon asked why Bristol was allowed to make a "decision" when the rest of the country, if McCain-Palin is elected, would not be permitted the same freedom of choice. I think that showed intellect and a high level of knowledge of politics... and more pointed questioning than a lot of nationally-syndicated journalists are wiling to give people like Gingrich. He may be funny and looking for laughs a lot of the time, but there are times when double standards like this cannot be overlooked. I was honestly impressed.

GO JON, Gotta love him!

They may not be running for ofiice but they're tools used by the Repugs to promote their own so-called poilitical agenda, which is basically saying or doing anything to protect the wealth of the top 1%.
Why these fools don't get it is beyond me!

Bush put in place the largest tax cut in American history right. Said it would boost the economy. Then the RNC Cronies went to work on De-Regulation and the underfunding of our Regulatory Framework so that the "innovators" in the Free market could, and did come up with better ways to provide less for more.
Remember the rollling black outs in California. They were not short on Power, the companies were exploiting the Enron loophole, deceptively embeded in legislation Brokered by none other than Phil Graham. you know him mcSame's lead campaign advisor. And yes this deception also contributed to 4.00 gas in the first time in our Nations History. Speculators were enabled to trade and unnaturallly effect our oil prices at the expense of American jobs and small businesses.
This also had an effect on housing. lenders circumvented lending standards on high interest loans, to people they knew could not afford to pay for them. lenders circumvented regulation on these loans by packaging them and selling them to the highest bidder. Now the Once secure Mortgage backed securites were marketed by the Likes of Bear Stearns as high return, low risk investments. In the end
Fat Kats got Paid millions and Hard Working, Tax Paying Citizens lost thier Homes, their savings, their retirement, and their American Dream.
Enough !
Enough!
Enough!
Time for a CHANGE AMERICA WHAT ARE WE WAITIGN FOR !

Another great LIE of the conservatives is omission.

When the top 1% of the nation has 85% of the money, assets, land, etc. it seems only fair to me that they should be paying >75% of the taxes!
