No Flag Pin For McCain

These topics are trivial in the long run. And Democrats would be hard pressed to make an issue out of this when they've been bemoaning the use of it against Barack Obama. But the McCain campaign made a small but significant tactical mistake tonight when they sent their candidate out to speak without adorning a flag pin.

The "he-doesn't-wear-a-flag-pin" charge works only in the context of a larger attack on that candidate's patriotism. And in this election, McCain will almost assuredly never be charged of not exhibiting a requisite amount of love for country (did someone say "country first"?). But those critics of Obama who have highlighted the absence of a pin on his lapel now have little to zero ammunition on this front.

Why is it that when Obama didn't have one he was jumped on like white on rice. But now it is ok for McCain. This is pathetic and I am so over the POW thing I could puke. Granted I would not want to go through that nor would I want anyone to go through it and I appreciate his service. But ENOUGH.

If he wants to impress me with his service and his POW experience, then put money aside for all the homeless vets sleeping on the streets. He voted 19 time against bills that would help our servicemen and didn't even show up for the most recent one that would help the vets when they come home from Iraq.

I didnt have the stomach to watch tonight. But I did notice Sarah Palin and her family last night were being loyal to the AIP as they all adorned their Alaska flag pins. "Alaska First, Alaska Always"

What makes you think that this was his choice? When his handlers wouldn't let him choose Lieberman, he dutifully toed the line and nominated the pitbull in lipstick that they wanted. All part of the Rovian Intelligent Design. And the American public just keeps believing there is intelligence there. I'm not sure which is more scary--McExxon's campaign lies or the number of people who believe them.
