I Like ItI Don’t Like It

What did your trusty crew from your favorite Vlog Even Though We Hate The Word Vlog show think of Sarah Palin's speech? (Well, this, but that's in writing. How quaint! Everyone knows by now that writing only counts if you Twitter it.). Well, anyhow, Ana and Glynnis were in the hall and so their experience was slightly different than watching it on television — Marc Ambinder liked it better that way, but they attested to the power of being, as Glynnis says, "In the Belly of the Barracuda." I attested to the power of bonking my head against the wall listening to those ludicrous charges against the media from someone who's been hidden away from the national media since Friday morning. But what do I know? I'm just a Washington insider, and Republicans hate those.

p.s. I am not a Washington insider, obvs. I'm a Canadian who has known for years that the plural of "moose" is "moose."

p.p.s. Filmic handiwork once again by Rex Sorgatz.

It looks like (say 99%) that Palin had an affair. The National Enquirer had one article and will have one more next week, Yes, the NE is very careful with its facts these days.

The media got played with the Bristol pregnancy thing. According to the McCain campaign, there were bloggers, etc., out there writing SCURRILOUS things over the weekend about the Palins -- like the infant with Down's syndome was really Bristol's baby, and that Gov. Palin was really the grandmother (never mind how unlikely that is given that a 17 year old is at least 50X less likely to have a Down's baby than a 44 year old). And I guess some MSM journalists dared to inquire about this internet scuttlebutt. But anyhow, the point is, WHAT IS SO SCURRILOUS about the suggestion? That Gov. Palin as a grandmother would volunteer to care for the infant and keep a daughter's pregnancy secret. Doesn't sound scurrilous to me; actually sounds fairly noble. The only possible scurrilous implication would be that the daughter got pregnant as a teenager out of wedlock. So now when they do release info that the latter is, in fact, true, it's the media's fault, and the other stuff was just so SCURRILOUS! Hunh.
