Andrea Mitchell Attacked By RNC Balloons (VIDEO)

Immediately following John McCain's speech on Thursday night at the RNC, NBC's Andrea Mitchell was attacked by falling balloons while on the floor of the convention center. Attempting to do a hit for Keith Olbermann on MSNBC, Mitchell fought off a never-ending stream of red, white and blue mylar as she bravely gave her report. Moments later her colleagues Tom Brokaw and Brian Williams complimented her reporting skills in the face of such adversity. The balloons remained a joke for segments to come:

The CNN anchors also joked about the balloons, with Anderson Cooper teasing Wolf Blitzer that there was a giant balloon intentionally aimed at him for being a "member of the elite media," a joke which Cooper recycled throughout the rest of the night:

Andrea Mitchell has no business anywhere near this election coverage. She is terrible when it comes to challenging her republican guests about their answers and she lets them go on and on and when you expect her to challenge those guests when they have completed their talking points she doesn't get them back on point and the viewer is left frustrated. She does it time and time again. She is no David Schuster, Nora O'Donnel, Chris Matthews, Keith Olberman and yes Rachel Maddow. Please reassign Ms. Mitchell to another department maybe in entertainment.

This just in. Andrea Mitchell will be replaced on convention floor reporting by "anyone taller". MSNBC, known for buckling under Republican applied stress, has decided that since Andrea couldn't hold her own against RNC party balloons that she does not show unbiased reporting skills as she fought for air and the right to report. Tom Brokaw could be heard murmuring his approval in the background. Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews will take up the fight for her future on their respective shows.

This is TOTALLY off topic and out of the blue but I try to warn as many people as I can. I'm an A/C and refrigeration repair guy. DON'T get ice from restaurants, it is more germ infested than a toilet and I'm not kidding! Now back to the show......

Too, too funny!! She deserved every bit of what she received. Only too bad that didn't completely obliterate her!! The media bias in this election has been so blatant and self-serving as to be laughable! Especially funny were all the "media types" sitting together going "we only ask the important questions." Come on! Do you REALLY think anyone believes that? Where are the hard questions that they need to ask Obama? I know at least 10 independent voters who are voting Republican this fall PURELY because of the media.

It looked as though the balloons were being pushed toward Andrea Mitchell. Hopefully it was being done to be on television and/or for fun, but my guess is that given the bitter tone at the RNC against the media, the motivation was probably less than positive.

I do have to wonder at the utter waste of so many balloons. That just can't be good for the environment.

Earth, Wind, and Fire are not fans of John McCain. The McCain campaign has been playing the music of artist without permission this entire campaign. From Jackson Browne, to Boston, and Phil Collins. They take everything else from us. But as soul music lover there is no way the Republicans are going to take Kool and the Gang and EWF from us.

There was more diversity in the balloons (at least 3 colors) than in the humans at that convention. You'd think that America only consisted of Caucasians by looking at that event.
