Howard Fineman reported tonight (and I heard something similar) that Sarah Palin will, after a brief stretch on the trail, head back to Anchorage and away from the national media.

"They're basically taking Palin back to Alaska," said Fineman, citing a senior McCain campaign official.

Fineman's source (and mine) said she'd spent much of the time between now and the middle of next week (when her son leaves for Iraq) straightening her affairs, tending to her official duties, and packing her bags -- having departed abruptly for the national stage. She also seems unlikely to do many major media interviews between now and then, and the campaign seems to feel no urgency about putting her on the Sunday shows.

Well, it is really 24 hours from the time she lands in Alaska on Wed's night to the time she gives the speech for her sons army group and he then deploys for Iraq, on Thursday night. Friday she packs and also on Thursday and Friday she gives interviews to Charlie Gibson, and then Sat she is back with McCain on the campaign trail. As it takes 10 hours to fly from Virginia to Alaska, I think the schedule is pretty tight. Also Biden did not give any interviews until this past Sunday on MTP which was over two weeks from the time he was nominated. Friday will be exactly two weeks from the announcement of Palin. So within a two week time frame she was nominated, at the convention, on the campaign trail, giving interviews with Charlie Gibson sending her son to Iraq and back on the campaign trail. I don't mean to cause a stir, but it is best when reporting the truth.

The Mc Cain campaign has become a JOKE.
Even they have to be aware of it.

Let's see now, they'll try to prep her on subjects that take a lifetime to master.
It'll be interesting.

Good! Get the hell out of MY country and go back to yours! After all, you do want to secede from the union! I say let 'em!

NO WAY will we part with Alaska just because a bunch of Rednecks want it.
We've been there and done that.

She got the Christianistas to open their wallets. Mission accomplished. She can rest now, lay low, and hope the press stops investigating her smarmy past. If you can "pray away gay," as her church claims, surely you can pray away a heterosexual affair, a troopergate, and a pregnant child or two.

If she's going back to Alaska - Adios!! Better stay there and take care of your family lady as they seem to need you more than the country does and this is not a sexist remark but from someone who thinks family/children come first!!

Please--the lapel pins were NOT Alaska pins. It is a service lapel pin (more commonly call a Blue Star) worn by members of immediate family of a person serving in the Armed Forces of the US during any period of war or hostilities. The blue star signifies that one or members of the family is serving.
