Nina Garcia: Sarah Palin Needs Lasik, But Shows "Promise"

Vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin shows "a lot of promise," Garcia said, and suggested she wear designs by Carolina Herrera.

"First, we have to lose the glasses -- Lasik or contacts," Garcia said. "But she's attractive. She seems to be feminine; I saw the high heels and little beaded skirt. She kind of broke up the suit which is a major move for a politician -- and she's curvaceous."

Lasik wouldn't help, she has a lazy eye. Prescription lenses improve her appearance. John McCain has an uncontrolled eye twitch. Both conditions make direct eye contact problematic.

Oh please, at least some of the commenters below have got it right.... Sarah's a natural beauty. In spite of her Jones New York suits and "outdated" hair style, the lady's an incredibly charismatic political phenomenon. And this opinion comes from a registered Democrat!

I may disagree with her positions, but as a chic Manhattan lady I can say that Sarah's look comes very naturally to her... WITHOUT the wardrobe focus groups and Oscar de la Renta-sized clothing budget. It's down-to-earth and real, and I am not snobby enough to critique her personal style, glasses and all. She is a good looking woman, no doubt about it. Lotsa Upper East Side ladies would KILL for her cheek bones.

There are certainly other issues to deal with here than her looks, no?

I wonder what Nina's politics are; she seems all too ready to be Palin's high-paid fashion guru. If I could have the gig, I'd cheer on Palin to make some risky -- even risque -- apparel choices so she can alienate every last right-wing voter. I'd propose that she do a Janet-esque wardrobe malfunction at the VP debate. Clothing optional, very just-say-no-to-Washington. Go for it, dear Sarah!
