New York Times:

Senator Barack Obama will increasingly lean on prominent Democratic women to undercut Gov. Sarah Palin and Senator John McCain, dispatching Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to Florida on Monday and bolstering his plan to deploy female surrogates to battleground states, Obama advisers said Thursday.

Mrs. Clinton's campaign event in Florida, her first for Mr. Obama since the Democratic convention, will serve as a counterpoint to the searing attacks and fresh burst of energy that Ms. Palin injected into the race with her convention speech on Wednesday, Obama aides said.

Look, if you want Hillary to become president one day then you, and she, should do everything possible to see that Obama becomes President now. If McCain/Palin wins then Palin may very well be running for President in 2012 and she will be in a much stronger position to argue that she has the experience necessary to run the country, irrespective of how underwhelming her credentials will still be. Additionally, if Hillary doesn't go all out now then she'll have the same problem in 2012 with Obama supporters that Obama has now with Hillary supporters. They'll blame her for his loss and won't come out to support her. Besides all that, I've got two words for all the reticent Hillary supporters: SUPREME COURT. You might be disappointed, but it's temporary. A McCain/Palin supreme court is forever!

This is bollocks. If Obama wins, her next chance is 2016 and that is way too late, way too long for her. No, her chances are better if Obama loses, because in 4 years time, she has a good chance to run again.

If Obama loses, then he loses because he sucks. Blaming Clinton is hillarious.

If all you are concerned about is the Supreme Court, then you should have supported Clinton... No use crying over spilled milk, no use blaming the runner-up of the primaries when the winner is not able to close the deal with the voters...

There is one huge difference between Obama and McCain and all women know it whether they admit it or not.

McCain was the candidate that took a huge risk by giving a woman a chance.

Obama did not--because he didn't have a backbone and didn't want Hillary to outshine him.

So now Obama/Biden look like two typical Washington cronies and McCain/Palin looks like guts, reform and change.

From the outside and on the surface, yes you're right. However, this is where reading can help you shed a little light on the reality of things. If you were to read, you would probably write less about "looks" and more about facts. You would be the kind of person, that the republicans have in mind to mislead and manipulate their way.

The key words are "look like" because, as everyone will soon know if they don't already, McCain and Palin don't have any of those things, Palin has no guts, won't talk to the press, is McCain going to reform himself??, and they will change nothing except to make it worse.

It amazes me how gullible some people are. They would take one look at a so called pretty face, and vote not with their brains, but on looks and feelings. My gut tells me that this woman is not fit to lead this country in time of war. WAKE UP FOLKS, we are in 2 wars right now! A pretty face does not mean that she has the brains to do what's best for the country. She probably does not know what al qaeda is! SHEESH!

People need to stop thinking with their emotions and start thinking with their brains, otherwise this country is going down the tubes!

Exactly my arguement of why we should not vote for Obama (could have had the real deal with Clinton, now your stuck with the Obama/Biden titanic). The empty suit has not clothes - finally.

Anyone with a brain knows for sure that Hillary will do what is necessary. She certainly does not want McCain/Palin to win. Hillary is supposed to be the first woman president, not Palin. So, Hillary has a stake in Obama winning now!

Don't vote with your "GUT," Vote with your brain! Educate yourself by watching and reading unfiltered news when ever possible. Watch C-SPAN to actually listen to the candidates speak. Read opinions from both sides. That is how we strengthen our democracy. Let's hope hillary keeps the debate lively but real! Finally, make sure you encourage everyone you know to register to Vote! You can find out how at http://www.boppoll.com. Click on register to vote.

The AA candidate, Obama, did not have the strength of character and confidence to choose a strong woman to run with him. Instead he chose a weak man. Now, he wants the women to clean up and pick up after him. Why does this remind so many women of the abusive spouse or boyfriend? Why does this bit of "reality" remind women of the workworld where they are often cleaning up after the weak man who could not perform the functions assigned to him? There is only one way to correct this problem--that is, vote for the Republican ticket this year!

Voting for the Republican ticket just because there is a woman on it is beyond stupid. There are plenty of better qualified women who could step into the role as VP or POTUS like Hillary. I am sorry but Gov Palin is no Hillary Clinton!!! She doesn't even come close. I am going to do what Hillary asked - vote democrat if you want to eat and keep a roof over your head!!!

It's perfectly appropriate since Palin is representing herself as an inerchangeable uterus.
All women are not the same and Mccain has no respect for women, or he would not think so.

These bloggers are so caught up on hillary being the frist woman president. They still over look the big picture when bill made the mistake of having affair in the oval office. This put on scar on his presidecy to most people in america. It didnt make me care any less but a lot others were turned away. Hillary had no chance of becoming president because this is the most important and respected office in america and around the world. It hust couldnt happen the people should have put their bet on one of the other candiates. But those guys barely got votes from the american people. This is not obama fault nor hillary its the american voters fault. But hillary is in the right place at the right time. She can go out there and do hillary there as only she can do. Palin better watch out she understand the meaning of a pitbull in lipstick is hillay come out there. Palin made statments which seem so phoney no how she couldnt support a woman and how hillary made her tried whining. The bloggers are wrong again how obama/bidden can win this election. Its all our election we have to do our part. The republicans are all togther it takes all the democratics to get out our message get with the election.

Obama chose Biden over Hillary, she then said she would do whatever it takes to get him elected. This is part of her pledge. Biden was not picked to appeal to a demographic but to lead. Palin is a galactic pander and Hillary has a duty to do away with this wannabe.

As the Republicans, especially Palin, have used Hillary's name to no end, ad nausea, it is only fitting that Hillary herself disabuse their notions. Would you want her to gather voters in your name? She brought it up, Hillary can finish it. Tit for tat.

Gallup - September 5, 2008
The latest three-day Gallup Poll Daily tracking report, with one full day of interviewing following Gov. Sarah Palin’s vice presidential acceptance speech, finds Barack Obama with a four-percentage-point lead over John McCain in national presidential preferences, 48% to 44%.

Don't know how this will look on Sunday or Monday when the full convention impact is felt, but if it appears McCain's speech got a bump, as awkwardly delivered as it was, then you folks are in serious trouble. You've seen Obama in debates and he's not very good when he's unscripted. You've seen him when he has to strut the stage. Halting, uhs and ahs, doing bad standup routines. Not impressive.

Well, we will see what happens. I am sure your lying, deceiful, arrogant, elite McAlzheimer will not have the questions this time. Oh, and let them ask him about abortion or something he doesn't feel comforable about, that should pretty much hand the debate over to Obama.

Also, very important to remember Obama will not be debating within his own party, so he can feel free to attack with intelligence and poise, something McAlzheimer doesn't have a clue about.

The only bump he will get will be that the republicans that were disinterested in him, will actually take a poll now that the pit bull is on the team. What matters to me is the poll one week from election day, that is when we will have a better view.

as a Hillary supporter this irritates me to no end. Obama chose his poison -- Biden. Send him. Hillary is not his mother. If he wanted her to help him win, he should have chosen her to be his VP. this is going to backfire. talk about being cynical. send a woman to fight off a woman.

Obama wants to be President, with Biden as his VP. take charge or step aside. Is he going to ask Bill to go with him when he meets with the leader of Iran?

I agree he should have picked Hillary, But there is so many Clinton haters in this country , I dont think it would have helped , Personally I think Bill was the best president ever. And Hillary would have been Just as good maybe better, But we dont have Hillary so we all need to vote Obama, and get rid of the slime that run this country for 8 years

I have supported both Clinton presidential terms and have nothing but respect for both of the Clintons. However, I do not feel the same way as "jrterrier," Obama had the right to choose who he felt would best be VP during what will be some hard decisions to be made on the international and foregin scene. He choose a person with outstanding forgein knowledge and contacts. So he decision was a good one, as he could not have choosen two.

Hillary is an extremely important part of the DNC as is other women. It is great that she understands what is at risk here, much better than some of you that supported her during her run, she is not as shallow as some of you here, especially "jrterrier," she understands that this election was not about her or Obama, it is about us, the American people that Hillary represents and cares about.

When you have a competent women she can go out and do the job; be it HRC, a trucker, educator, stay at home Mom, whatever it is that she does, she is a roll model for all women.

it is quite the opposite with a women is of Palin's ilk and mindset no mater the thoughts on her daughters situation, Palin is creating a life of dependency; the girl does not go to school, there is no mention of her going to school, she is not doing home studies, and being encouraged to marry a high school dropout neither of these kids had a snowballs chance of real employment in their future.

This all makes me wonder did her son graduate from HS? Now they have change the framing of his future by saying that he may or could be deployed to Iraq. If he opts out after serving his term, he can count on McCain vet voting record of not supporting the troops.

Palin does indeed make all women look bad, and fosters a poor image for the youth of America.

what does this have to do with whether Palin would make a good VP. do you have children? sometimes, they do great other times they stumble. Compare W to his father. Or Obama to his father, who died a drunk and never owned up to his responsibility as a father. Please, this is garbage.
