New York Times:

Senator Barack Obama will increasingly lean on prominent Democratic women to undercut Gov. Sarah Palin and Senator John McCain, dispatching Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to Florida on Monday and bolstering his plan to deploy female surrogates to battleground states, Obama advisers said Thursday.

Mrs. Clinton's campaign event in Florida, her first for Mr. Obama since the Democratic convention, will serve as a counterpoint to the searing attacks and fresh burst of energy that Ms. Palin injected into the race with her convention speech on Wednesday, Obama aides said.

Why does Hillary have to do his dirty work Obama needs to reach out more to former Clinton supporters. He has never really asked for my vote. John McCain has asked twice. Obama just assumes we'll "fall in line" and thats not going to happen unless he reaches more.

Oh, now he needs Hillary...

Hillary she make Barry pay off her entire campaign debt (and a bit extra for not picking her as a VP) or else she goes on an extended vacation until November.

Oh come on; unless you live in the delusional world of HRC in 2012; the facts are for HRC to reach her goal of helping and working for the American people she cannot afford McCain.

She has said - "No way, No How, No McCain" now unless you are saying she was lying she will do everything in her power to prevent the danger of McCain win bringing the most zealot of VPs ever.

Ask yourself how is it that the GOP made it their goal to impeach WJC and turn around and cheer him at this years convention?

Why is it being written as 'Obama dispatches female surrogates'?
I am sure these women are ready and willing to go out and show that S Palin does not represent the average woman and her shameful 'rant' that is being called a 'speech' is something that all woman should be ashamed of-and I am sure they are doing it because they want to. Believe me, if I had any clout I would be on national television telling the world this woman is not the type of woman that your average women hold in high esteem. She is the type of woman that makes all women look bad.

I agree - this is a misleading caption.
It is in Hillary's best interest not to be used by the rethugs to imply that all women are interchangeable/

Palin smacked down the O-bounce. The race is polling today within margin of error.

OBAMA NET GAIN AFTER GOP CONVENTION

So far, the conservative Rasmussen Poll is the first to release a poll including Palin's speech on the 4th, showing Obama with a 3% net gain after the dueling conventions:

Rasmussen Tracking 09/02 - 09/04 3000 LV 48 46 Obama +2
Rasmussen Tracking 08/24 - 08/26 3000 LV 46 47 McCain +1

Rasmussen is typically more conservative, often showing McCain with a lead in previous weeks when most or all other polls show Obama with a lead so this is a strongly positive indicator.

The Gallup DailyTracking Poll will be out later today, we'll see where they land as well.

The bottom line, if the conventions result in a net gain for Obama, as it appears they will, it represents that the high water mark for McCain is still behind Obama and with the debates coming up, it is only downhill from here for the poor debating, not-wanting-to--discuss-the-issues McCain/Palin ticket.

As a woman, and as a Black woman at that, I am excited that both of my demographics are becoming increasingly visible and important in this election. If women are so critical to the success of both presidential campaigns, we should hold the feet of the president to the fire to focus on some of the issues long neglected that concern us. How long did it take b/c to be covered by insurance, but viagra was covered nearly out of the box? We (the voters) will see if Hillary is truly behind the democrats now in the veracity with which she defends the positions that both she and Barack championed during the primaries...

I think sending the cleaning ladies out is a safe idea, but I do hope Biden doesn't hold back when he goes face to face with this dame, because of some sexist thinking. There's been enough racism in this campaign to negate that idea. If you want to play in the big boy game of politics, then I don't care who you are, take your licks and stop whining. Stop being a child.

I don't know why we huffposters thing Obama needs our advice. From what I can see so far he has been running a brillilant campaign. He is focused, unafraid and he is going to hammer home a message - not spews of hate like the rethugs. Don't underestimate our candidate

If any of you saw his press conference yesterday, I would say he's ready to do what he has to do. McCain did not excite his base last night especially when he brought up change. The thugs don't want change. That's why there were gaps where applause should have been.

The thugs are dead

Senator Clinton should invite Governor Palin to have a conversation about women's rights and the fight for equality. They could sit in comfortable chairs around a coffee table with a cup of tea or coffee and model a civil discussion. All voters could decide who is authentic and who is the fraud.
I predict Palin will refuse (or the political manipulators would refuse-- they probably realize that civil discussion is not Palin's forte.) Her refusal would end the myth of the disgruntled Hillary supporter voting for McCain, it would make it clear that Palin is freeloading on the struggles of progressives, and my bet is Hillary would chew her up on practically any issue raised, except for shooting wolves from helicopters.

Do you guys really think Hillary wants Obama to win?
She may stage some kind of attack on Sarah but will she go bonkers over Obama?
Hillary will attack Sarah because she's a threat as a woman. Not because she wants Obama to destroy her own plans for 4 - 8 years.
It IS unusual for a person to attack a VP pick in order to support their own P pick unless that VP pick is a serious threat to a candidate.
But in THIS case, Hillary's concern is that Sarah is a threat to HER too.

She is a threat to all women who want the government to stay out of their pants. What don't you see? Are you a nun, a "Sister for Sarah"?. Nuns get married to God, and you know what happened to Mary, so they should know better too.

But in THIS case, Hillary's concern is that Sarah is a threat to HER too.: SARAH IS A THREAT! If JMC wins, Sarah will be able to add VP to her resume and that trumps 35 yrs of experience!

HRC will have no plan or no future if she doesn't step up to the plate. That glass ceiling is her and hers alone to break (she earned it) and than America can have 16 years of responsible government to clean up the mess left behind from Repubs.. & GB.

This is where things get fun and exciting. I think Hillary and her supporters now feel plenty of motivation to help get the Democratic ticket elected this year. Her strong advocacy for Obama/Biden will give her the clout to take on whatever role she most desires in the new government. Not choosing her for VP was not a sign of disrespect at all - it was just not the best assignment for her, for many reasons. The Democrats have a strong lineup of surrogates that they can offer and they will have a significant impact over the next two months.

Sarah Palin is Hillary Clinton's to munch on. Hill is great at this kind of stuff and she's the best one to do it. This is Hillary's fresh, new place on the American political stage and I am certain that she will do a great job with this. Sarah Palin is a rigid, uncompromising, self righteous politician who is positive that she alone knows what is right and wrong and who has no compunction at all about forcing other people to live by her ideas of sin and righteousness. Anyone who thinks that a thirteen year old child impregnated by her father, should by law and constitutional amendment, be forced to carry that child to full term, regardless of the health risks to the mother, is a neanderthal. Lord, spare us from people who are positive that they know what You want. It behooves us to inform ourselves of every detail of Sarah Palin's story and to share those details with every person we meet. McCain is dangerous to the American economy and he's dangerous for his deep needs to prove himself as commander in chief of "there will be many wars, my friends, many wars." Sarah Palin is dangerous in every possible way as a no experience potential president, but she is deathly dangerous to the lives and well being of American women.

What plans are you talking about it?. Hillary is in a lose lose situations in both sides. First if Obama becomes president even if he is a a one term president hillary will have to wait 8 years, which by that time she will be 68 pushing 69 that is too and by 2016 she will be old news. Honestly I don't like neither candidates, but if Hillary couldn't get it done this year she will not be able to get done in 2016. Now option number 2 for hillary is that if Mccain becomes president Palin will be the GOP candidate in 2012 regardless , and I doubt that hillary would be able to beat her, Women will split and white males will decide the election at that time which will give palin the edge. Remember Hillary will not be able to win the primaries in 2012 because you people in the left will blame her for obama lost.

I think hillary dreams of being president are over, and if you looked at Bill Clinton eyes in the convention last week when he was sitting there and she was speaking, you could see that was her last major speech in front of a national audience.
