Obama To Dispatch Female Surrogates To Undercut Palin

Senator Barack Obama will increasingly lean on prominent Democratic women to undercut Gov. Sarah Palin and Senator John McCain, dispatching Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to Florida on Monday and bolstering his plan to deploy female surrogates to battleground states, Obama advisers said Thursday.

Mrs. Clinton's campaign event in Florida, her first for Mr. Obama since the Democratic convention, will serve as a counterpoint to the searing attacks and fresh burst of energy that Ms. Palin injected into the race with her convention speech on Wednesday, Obama aides said.

I was not impressed with Obama's speech and that venue with the fake columns was embarrassing. His pick of Biden is a tactical error. Biden's support of the Iraq war, racism (Indian accent for Dunkin donuts; test scores so low in DC ; he's so clean, etc.) and remark about his wife being smart and Palin's looks illustrates his racism and sexism. His mostly anti-choice stance is just the final slap in the face. Listening to Palin's speech with the crowd chanting "Drill Now!" was frightening, I know they would not blink an eye while plundering our environment or invading a country. It was significant Palin made no mention of abortion or gay rights. We know her feelings. They don't want to alienate the undecided women (yet). She was the perfect conservative foil to BO.

OK, Obama needs to win. Then I start reading that BO is sending out the women to do damage control, Clinton, Sebelius, Napolitano, like some lady cleaning squad. Why didn't he pick a female running mate? We're not good enough to be on equal footing, but we sure can be asked to go in and do the clean up.

So...I'm back to being angry and scared cause I think this race is a toss up, no matter what the HuffPo and MoveOn crowd are saying. I think the fact that they are making such a big deal about Palin is telling...I think all their bluster means that they're scared too.

Hillary was already set to campaign for Obama/Biden. As a woman I feel that Hillary is the Best person to counter all of Palin's attacks. Palin is the one who started the fight. She threw the first second and third punch, in order to bait Obama/Biden. McCain should have been man enough to throw the punches- instead he made Palin do it. Let's not forget Palin also made negatives comments about Hillary Clinton. Palin is a waste. She can not compete with Hillary. Hillary is far more intelligent and at least when she attacks others she uses her own words, not Bush's speechwriter. So if McCain wants to put a woman in front to do his dirty work Obama/Biden can have their female colleagues (none of whom attended 5 schools in 6 years in order to get a BS in journalism) to defend them. Hillary, please show Palin how it is really done!

Adam Brickley discovered Sarah Palin from his bedroom in his mom's house in Colorado, and launched a "Draft Sarah Palin for VP" blog when SP had only been in office three months. It is MUST read material. The clip is hysterical, and the blog is ... unbelievable. There are some gems in there.
