Campaigns Begin Dash To Election

New York Times:

Fresh off back-to-back conventions, the two presidential campaigns took off Friday on a 60-day dash to the White House in a political landscape reshaped by the candidacy of Gov. Sarah Palin and Republican efforts to seize the mantle of change.

The race, transformed by zeal among the Republican base for Senator John McCain's running mate, got a burst of new life at the same time that television viewership numbers showed that nearly 40 million people, a record for an American political convention, tuned to the major broadcast and cable-news networks to watch Mr. McCain's acceptance speech in St. Paul on Thursday night. That was a bit more than those who watched Senator Barack Obama's speech in Denver last week.

Go and check on line images, any encyclopedia, and see the photo of Nazis burning books in the 1930`s , only 70 years ago, but the methods are still the same. My uncle, who was the Auschwitz and Buchenwald death camps survivor ( he was sentenced for helping and hiding his Jewish neighbours) will be scarred to death seeing the Rove/McCain/Palin methods to scare and manipulate people, it is very, very easy.
McCain/Rove/Palin are using the nazis propaganda book - fear, blame, scare, burn, less educated people=easy to control the nation - classic nazis/redneck propaganda.

There is seriously flawed internal logic within the McCain campaign. The most fundamental of those flaws is the 95% Bush agreement rate reflected in the McCain voting record and the conflict with the polar opposite.... his statements about how tough times are and how we are worse off than we were four years ago.

We hear about the "Old McCain" the "New McCain" and now we're back the "OldMcain". Some feel that the way he was before 2000 was best. I feel that we need a leader who is steady and reliable. Not one who changes his tack with whomever he is currently working. John McCain did sacrifice for his country 40 years ago and he deserves sincere gratitude for that. However, we can't turn over the fate of our nation to him as a reward. McCain will not have innovative ideas for the future the way Obama will. yea funny how only the democrats respect the constitution ---can't remember the amendment number but I think freedom of the press is one of them. the rethugs want to be like china except they will let their propaganda machine do whatever! I hate Fox I never watch that channel on purpose except when O was on the other night. I had to keep changing the channel and turn back to see if he came on which O'Really? waited until the last 7 mins of his show.
